A/N: Also, there's something i want to know. In the Spiderman Edge of Time game, is the black cat in it the actual black cat, or was it a clone of her? Please let me know.

3rd POV: After a trek through the forest, they eventually made it back to the tournament grounds where the other kontestant were waiting. Spiderman spotted shang tsung sitting in his chair, kitana Jade and baraka standing on hid left whilst a pale man covered in red tribal tatoos standing on his right.

Spiderman (in head): I don't know why, but he gives me mephisto vibes, and I don't like it.

(Omniverses)

Mephisto observed the pale sorcerer and scoffed, as if that fool could ever give the same kind of aura as him.

(Mortal kombat universe)

Spiderman then spotted sheeva standing opposite the earthrealm group. Her 4 arms crossed as she observed the kombatants. She then spotted the wallcrawler and gave a nod in slight acknowledgement, one that Spiderman returned. He then spotted a red-headed woman wearing a very similar attire to that of kitana and Jade walking towards sheeva and standing beside her.

Spiderman: {betsy, Ororo, do you 2 know who the red head is?}

Betsy and storm discreetly turn their heads and spot who Spiderman is referring to.

Storm: {from what we were able to gather, her name is Skarlet, an assasin from Outworld who's skilled in blood magic.}

Spiderman: {blood magic?}

Psylocke: {I'd imagine it's somewhat similar to namor could manipulate the water.}

Spiderman: {what about those ninjas to our right?}

Betsy briefly glances at the 2 and then speaks.

Psylocke: {the one in yellow is named cyrax, and the one in red is named sektor. They're assasins who are a part of a clan called the lin kuei. Which is led by the man you encountered in the dungeons, sub zero if i remember correctly.}

Spiderman: {ok, what about the guy standing on shang tsung's right?}

The 2 mutants look up at the pale figure, and a frown appears on their faces.

Psylocke: {we were only able to get his name, his abilities are unknown to us, unfortunately.}

Storm: {his name is Quan Chi, and it seems that shang tsung is not happy with his appearance.}

Spidey looked up and noticed the look of disdain on the sorcerers face when he glanced at Quan Chi.

Psylcoke: {heads up, we've got someone new joining, on our right.}

The Marvel trio turn their heads slightly and see what appears to be a guard enter the tournament grounds. Raiden suddenly grunts as more visions appear. Spiderman goes towards raiden and whispers.

Spiderman: (whispers) What did you see?

Raiden: (whispers) a troublesome student.

Shang tsung: Kombatants! The next match will now begin!

A circle of flames erupts in the middle of the arena, and a figure shoots up from it, and the spectators give a round of applause.

Liu kang crosses his arms whilst johny cage looks shocked.

(Omniverses)

Batman (injustice) narrows his eyes at scorpion, remembering his battle with the netherealm warrior during the convergence and how dangerous he was.

(Mortal kombat universe)

Shang tsung: scorpion! Spectre of the netherealm! Resurrected by the sorcerer Quan Chi!

Spiderman (in head): he looks cool. Why can't my world's scorpion be like that?

(Omniverse)

Scorpion (616): fuck you webhead!!!! I'm badass!!

Shocker (616): You're really not man.

Scorpion (616): fuck you too!!!!

(Mortal kombat universe)

Spiderman (in head): Wait, did he day spectre? I guess he's like Ghost Rider (stares at quan Chi), and he's the mephisto of this world. My feelings from earlier were definitely well founded.

Scorpion stares at his potential opponents. The various earthrealmers stare back, their expressions being weariness and challenging. However, when the netherealm spectre stared at Peter, scorpion's eyes, whilst soulless, showed a hint of empathy, one which Spiderman didn't quite understand.

Spiderman (in head): Why did he look at me like that? Could he..... could he have gone through something similar to my past? (Looks to Quan Chi then back at scorpion) did he make a deal?

His thoughts are cut off as shang tsung continues to speak.

Shang tsung: Who among you is worthy of this challenge?

Scorpion breaks eye contact with Spiderman and looks at everyone else, then begins to speak.

Scorpion: Where is the lin kuei sub zero? He killed my family and clan. I will have his head!

Spiderman's eyes widen, a low gasp escaping him, that's why scorpion showed empathy towards him.

Spiderman (in head): Oh man....

(Omniverses)

Many people in the omniverse could sympathise with scorpion, many of them being the batmen, ghost riders, and Dante.

The batmen could sympathise because they started their crusade seeking vengeance against the criminal underworld after losing their parents, refusing to have anyone go through what happened to them, the ghost riders felt some level of sympathy because just like scorpion, they were a spirit of vengeance and had made a deal with the devil, punishing the wicked and making sure they suffered, it was a very tiresome mission that would never end and Dante could feel some sympathy because of when he lost his mother and brother vergil (before he found out he was alive) he seeked vengeance against demons before he mellowed out a little so he could understand the situation scorpion was in.

(Mortal kombat universe)

Raiden walks near the guard that arrives at the tournament grounds.

Raiden: (whispers) I know it is you kung Lao. The shaolin monks chose Liu kang to represent your order in the tournament.

Kung Lao: (whispers) I am Liu Kang's equal!

Raiden: (whispers) that remains to be seen.

Kung Lao turns to the thunder god.

Kung Lao: (whispers) watch and see.

Kung Lao then proceeds to walk onto the arena whilst Spiderman, who was listening in on the conversation, sighs.

Spiderman (in head): he reminds me too much of rookies starting this hero gig and trying to prove themselves, kinda like America chavez, ironheart, and Nova. I guess miles and hope were the same to an extent.

(Omniverses)

America chavez (616) and ironheart (616) glared in offence. They weren't trying to prove themselves.... most of the time, anyway, it wasn't their fault that their mentors were assholes half the time. Nova (616) shrugged. He can admit he was like that, but not much nowadays. Miles (616) and Hope (616) smiled sheepishly, Miles because when he first started, he tried so hard to live up to the legacy of Spiderman that he pushed himself, Hope was the same because during the battle between the xmen and avengers, hope was forced to go through rigorous training to try and wield the pheonix force to repair the damage done by scarlet witch, trying to prove to others that she wasn't a failure and that she could pull her weight. It was only thanks to Peter that both young heroes learnt that they don't need to be like someone else and that they just need to be themselves.

(Mortal kombat universe)

Kung Lao: (removes the mask and guard outfit and tosses the spear) I accept the challenge!

Liu kang: (shocked and whispers) kung Lao?

Shang tsung merely looks on.

Kung lao: (faces scorpion) nevemind the lin kuei, now (slides fingers across the blade of his hat) you face a shaolin (gets into a fighting stance)

Scorpion: You will regret your impulsiveness.

And with that, the 2 kombatants battle whilst Spiderman Observes from the sidelines, for once, not glad that he's not fighting for a change. As he observes the battle, he goes to liu kang and speaks in a hush whisper

Spiderman: (whispers) So he's from the shaolin, you know him?

Liu kang: (nods his head slightly and whispers back) Yes, Kung Lao was in the same class as me. He's a bit arrogant and prefers to fight first and ask questions later.

(Omniverses)

Superboy (YJ) awkwardly looks around, making sure none of the former members of young justice aren't looking his way, but he saw Miss Martian look his way, a smile on her gracing her face. Connor looks away and stares back at the screen.

(Mortal kombat universe)

Spiderman: (whispers) What's his story?

Both Spiderman and liu kang wince as scorpion delivers an uppercut to kung Lao, then used his roap dart to pull him, grab him by the throat and...pull his mask off to reveal a flaming skull and shoot hellfire out of his mouth?!

Spiderman (in head): ok, not cool! I'll keep my scorpion. Thank you very much!

(Omniverses)

Ghost rider (Johnny blaze -616): Huh, he really is just like a ghost rider.

(Mortal kombat universe)

Liu kang: (whispers) kung Lao comes from a family who have dedicated themselves to the teachings of the shaolin and become defenders of earthrealm, his ancestor, the great kung Lao was once the champion of earthrealm and won every Mortal kombat tournament in history.

Spiderman: (whispers) I'm sensing a bit coming along.

They watch as kung Lao takes his hat off and throws it scorpion, the attack making a connection and kung Lao does a flying kick and then lands on his feet and throws multiple rapid punches into scorpions chest and then performs a palm strike, knocking scorpion back.

Liu kang: (nods and whispers back) In a previous tournament, the great kung Lao was bested and killed by goro, a shokan like sheeva.

Spiderman: (whispers), and he's been trying to become the next great kung Lao.

Liu kang sighs and nods his head.

Spiderman: (whispers) Why does he want to best you so much?

Liu kang: (whispers) Lord raiden came to the dragon groto one day to pick a champion of earthrealm.

Spiderman: (whispers) And he picked you. (The shaolin nods) So kung Lao got jealous and tried to best you at every turn.

Liu kang: (whispers) correct, and it appears he believes that winning against scorpion would be a start.

Spiderman nods his head a little before turning to psylocke, who was chatting quietly with Storm.

Spiderman: (whispers) I know someone who's in a similar predicament.

Spidermans' attention is turned back to the fight and is just in time to see scorpion teleport behind kung Lao and kick him before throwing 2 of his roap darts at the monk, the blades hitting him in the back. Scorpion ignites them in hellfire, burning kung Lao before throwing him into a wall and then lifting him up in the air before slamming him down into a hellfire portal where it closes and opens up again behind the spectre with kung Lao flying out of it, scorpion coats his fist in flames and throws a powerful left punch into kung Lao's face sending him skidding across the floor.

Scorpion: You are not yet a warrior.

Liu kang: kung Lao!

Liu kang runs to his classmate and checks on him whilst raiden calmly walks over to them.

Raiden: Listen when your elders speak! You could not win this fight.

Raiden goes to help Liu kang lift the defeated shaolin up and away from the arena as scorpion merely watches before turning to face shang tsung.

Scorpion: I have defeated the challenger, shang tsung! I demand sub-zero!

Raiden suddenly grunts as another vision comes to him before he shakes his head, collecting himself.

Shang tsung: you will demand nothing! Nightwolf!

A warrior comes up onto the stage. Welding 2 axes.

Nightwolf: Your obsession is misplaced.

Scorpion: What could you possibly know of my past?

Nightwolf: You are not the only one whose people have been victimised.

Nightwolf then walks to the other side of the arena as he continues to speak.

Nightwolf: But I have found a new purpose in serving the spirits. I do not cling to the past.

Spiderman stares at nightwolf before turning his head to the side.

Spiderman (in head): Some of us don't have the luxury of forgetting, unfortunately. My past always seems to come back to me in some shape or form.

Scorpion: You no longer seek retribution? You dishonor your kind. I will honor the memory of my fallen.

And with that, the 2 get into fighting stances. As the 2 kombatants prepare to clash, Spiderman only has one thought in his head.

Spiderman (in head): Why can't I go to a place where people don't have a tragic past, I wanted no drama!!

A/N: All right, I hope you all liked the chapter. Sorry if it wasn't like the others and that there weren't many reactions from the omniverses. I couldn't exactly think of much to do with this chapter. I'll probably have a better idea for the next one.
