Chapter Six

Lucy's POV
We sat there waiting, and when all of the witch's monsters had left, we went over to the table and Sierra's body. I pulled out my cordial, but Susan stopped me.

"Don't. It's too late." We sat there, and after a few minutes, mice came up and started nibbling.
"Ugh. Mice. Get away! Get away, you horrid creatures!" I stopped her.
"No. Look! They're nibbling the ropes! They're untying her!" Susan sighed.
"It's too late though. We have to warn Peter and Edmund!" She got up, but sat back down.
"It's no use. We can't get there fast enough." I looked around, feeling the wind blowing.
"The trees!"

Peter's POV
I was sleeping quite soundly, when something brushed my cheek. I rolled away, but it still did it. I sat up, groggy, and saw a woman that looked like she was made of flower petals. I jerked awake, and drew my sword, startling Edmund.

"Be still, my princes. I bring grave news from your sisters." Edmund sat up and I put away my sword. She bowed her head.
"Aslan has, in fact, disappeared for awhile, and Sierra has been murdered by the white witch." I shot up, changing, and Edmund did the same. We took off, and Edmund woke Oerius, who galloped around, waking everyone. I looked around in her tent, and there was nothing. Even her weapons were gone. I hung my head, coming back out. Edmund and Oerius were there waiting.

"She's right. Sierra and Aslan aren't here." Edmund looked at me.
"Then you'll have to lead us. Peter, there's an army out there, and they're ready to follow you. Aslan and Sierra believed you could....and so do I." I looked up at them.
"He's right, sir. What are your orders?" I looked at the map. A few hours later, we were on the field, plans had been made, orders given, and our griffin was returning.

"They're coming, sire. With numbers and weapons far greater than our own." Oerius looked at him.
"No. But I bet they help. Then, another voice interjected.
"Then, how about another soldier, your majesty?"

Susan's POV
Several hours had passed, and it was past time for us to head back.

"Lucy. We've got to go." We got up, heading away, and then the ground shook. We looked back at the table. It had cracked, and Sierra's body was gone.
"What have they done with her now?!" We ran back. Then, a bright light shone from the other side. We saw Aslan standing there with Sierra.
"Sierra!" We ran around the table, crushing her in a hug.
"But we saw the knife! The Witch!" Aslan laughed.
"If the witch knew the true meaning of sacrifice, she would've interpreted the Deep Magic differently. That when a willing victim, who has committed no treachery is killed in a territory's stead, the Stone Table will crack, and even death itself will work backward." Lucy looked up.
"But we sent the message Sierra was dead! Peter and Edmund will have gone to war! We have to help them!" Sierra smiled, taking her weapons back.
"I'll do that. I can get there faster than you all. You two get to do something else." She turned into an eagle, and soared away. Aslan turned to us, smiling.
"Now, climb on my back. We have far to go, and you might want to cover your ears!" Then, he roared. I'd never heard such a wonderful sound in my whole life. Then, he started running.

Sierra's POV
I landed beside Peter, who was mounted on a white unicorn, and changed back. They didn't even notice me, despite the fact that a giant eagle has landed beside them and changed into a girl. Then, I spoke up.

"Then how about another soldier, your majesty?" He jumped, and saw me.
"Sierra! But you- what- how?" I laughed.
"I'll explain later. Right now, I feel like overthrowing a corrupt ruler. What about you?" We laughed at that. Then, we sobered up as we saw the witch coming over the hill. She now had a golden mane. My mane. She started coming at us, and he gave a signal. The archers took down many of their soldiers, and the griffins took care of more, dropping rocks on their lines. Then, Peter turned to me.

"Are you with me?" He asked me.
"To the death." Oerius nodded.
"And I, as well. To the death." He turned to face the oncoming army, and I switched to lioness.
"For Narnia! And, for Aslan!" Then, we charged. For a moment, it seemed like time had slowed. Then, it was back to normal. I bit off a couple of arms, and then switched back to human. I used Thil Galel and hacked at anyone who I hadn't seen training with us in the last three days. Simple. And, yes, I saved Peter's hide a few times, though he'll deny it. Typical guys. After about a half hour.

"Fall back! Draw them to the rocks!" A female centaur blew her horn, and we took off. We fought among the rocks for quite awhile, and then I heard Peter yelling at Edmund.

"Ed! There's too many! Get the girls, and get then home!" Then, he killed a couple of dwarves, and I saw the witch. So, I did the smart thing. I went after her. She saw me, and she gave me a shocked look.

"You. I killed you! How?!" I chuckled.
"You can't always completely snuff out a light." She gave me a cold smile.
"Yes, but your father abandoned you. Where is he?" I gritted my teeth.
"Not here yet." She laughed, and we started circling each other.
"He's not coming. That's what you're saying. He had to her things to do, and he's not coming. You're fighting alone!" I screamed, and attacked. I fought like I normally did, only this time, I got myself stuck on defense. I always tried to stay on offense. Then, I messed up. I parried, and then tried to strike, and she knocked me off balance. Then, she stabbed me, I screamed and heard yelling and then, I saw a flash of blue light. After that, it all became a blur.

Peter's POV
I was fighting a Minotaur, and then, I heard a scream. I saw Sierra fall to the ground, a knife in her side. Then Edmund attacked the witch, smashing her wand, and she stabbed him with the remainder of it. I never even heard it, but I was told I yelled. Then, I finished off the Minotaur, and charged at the witch. We fought, and it was rough. She didn't fight like anyone I'd ever fought before. She fought with two swords, but I had a shield, so that gave me a tiny advantage. She used both, and slashed at my neck with both at the same time. Thank goodness for the training Sierra had given all of us. Then, she knocked me off balance, stabbed one of her swords into my shoulder, and got ready to stab me. Then, we heard a roar. She looked up, and we saw Aslan. He roared, and we saw every one the witch had turned to stone running down the hill.

"Impossible!" She said, and then Aslan pounced. I pulled the sword out, and stood. Aslan turned to me.
"It is finished." Lucy and Susan ran down the hill, hugging me.
"Where's Edmund? And where's Sierra?" We ran over, and they had fallen nearly side by side. Lucy gave each a drop, and then Edmund sat up. We hugged him, and he turned to Sierra. She wasn't moving, and then I nearly cried. She had saved our lives, and now she was dying. Then, she opened her eyes.

"What?! I'm not dead yet! Next person who cries over me today gets am extra five laps at the next training!" She sat up, and we all hugged her.
"I'm glad you're okay." I whispered, hugging her.
"I'm glad you're okay too, Peter." It was a pretty decent day, other than the ones who died. Now, the last of the prophecy had to be fulfilled. It was time to head to Cair Paravel. Sierra promised that she'd sing the Ballad of Narnia at the coronation, and I planned to hold her to that.
