Chapter 5: Story Time
The class was silent for a minute.
Izuku grinned at the confusion on their faces.
"What??" They said.
Izuku laughed.
"I don't know my exact age, but I know I'm over 6 billion years old. The very first thing I remember was a vast, rocky plain. I learned to not touch the lava that was about pretty quick. It took a few million years, but I remember how ecstatic I was when water first appeared as vast oceans. Then little creatures were swimming about in the water, and grass grew, a few million years gave me trees to climb and animals to play with. I've been around as long as the earth has." Izuku explained.
"Dude, you're so patient. That's so manly!" The manly man said.
"Have you seen dinosaurs??!"
"Why do you look like a teenager?"
"If you were around back then.. does that make you not human?"
Izuku grinned. "Yes, I can be very patient. Although I'm not young anymore, so a few million years might be a stretch for me. I have seen dinosaurs. I've almost been eaten many times. The scars on my back were from a velociraptor! I look like a teenager.. because I just do? I'm not sure why. And no, I'm not human. Even though I'm pretty much identical to a human male, if you catch my drift."
There were a few laughs from the guys, and more than a few red faces among the girls.
Izuku laughed too. "Anyway, as far as I know, I'm immortal. I don't age, I heal insanely fast, and I once survived a really high fall."
"Do you have any questions?" He asked.
"What is your favourite time period?"
"Have you met any cool historical figures?"
"How many other countries have you been to?"
"Are there any others like you?"
Izuku thought carefully at each question.
"Last time I was in Europe there were knights and castles. That was pretty fun." He grinned.
"I've met a couple, although not any that you guys would know." Izuku explained.
"I've been to every country at some point, although land keeps getting split up and borders change. A couple hundred years and the countries you know won't exist anymore for me." He said with a laugh.
"I don't know, I've never met anyone else like me. As far as I know, I'm the only one of my kind." He said.
"Do you ever get lonely?" Someone asked.
Izuku smiled sadly. "Sometimes. I've had thousands of friends in my lifetime, but they're all gone now. I try to make few friends, because I k ow they'll be gone before I know it."
The class looked a little upset now. Even Aizawa seemed downcast.
"By the way, I'm *cough* accidentally the legal king of France. Have been for a few hundred years now. That was a fun night."
Izuku kept telling jokes to try to cheer up his class.
His classmates were roaring with laughter after a few minutes, tears running down their cheeks as they clutched their stomachs.
"And then-" Izuku laughed. "He comes to me with the cart, and he.. heh.. he says.. haha.. he says.. 'well that was unexpected.'"
Izuku collapses to the floor, rolling around as he laughs himself to tears. Aizawa chuckles softly beneath his bandages while the students laugh with Izuku.
He wouldn't admit it, but he was glad the tension had been alleviated.
