Chapter 4: Blade and Riku

*Risk's POV*

Fast asleep, my mind began to wander, dreaming about all that had happened, and possible solutions to the problem of Gengar. Meanwhile, back at the Guild, Gengar had found a new way to creep under my skin,

"Kekekek! Alright, Risk, let's see how well you can fight off my men if you can't sleep! I may not know where you are, but this Nightmare will afflict each and every Pokemon in its path until it finds you!" Laughing, my dreams took on a reddish tint, and I knew something was wrong. Gengar appeared in the middle of it all, looking exceedingly smug,

"So you think you're safe from me just because I can't find you?! Oh, my dear Risk, it isn't that easy to trick a Ghost Pokemon." Gengar laughed,

"Well, while I am here in your dreams, I might as well make it as unpleasant as possible! Kekekek!" My dream shifted to viewing a small dark, fleshy area with some clear liquid in it. Then, I saw Blade, swimming in the fluid, screaming in pain. My ears were constantly assaulted with the Absol's painful cries, until he sank deeper into the liquid, not surfacing again.

I sat bolt upright, screaming Blade's name,as I broke into a cold sweat. Paul and Blade, who had been discussing the events of last night, turned around abruptly.

"Are you OK, Risk? You look like you've seen a ghost, and you're sweating buckets!"

"I... I did see a Ghost..." I tried to stammer, scared out of my wits.

"Gengar, it... Appeared in my dream and... and showed me something. Blade- it was you... you were inside something, in a pool of liquid, and..." My words were caught in the back of my throat.

"It looked like you were dead!" Blade, at once, could tell what kind of nightmare Gengar had afflicted me with, and he tried to calm me down accordingly,

"Risk, it's fine... I'm fine- I'm still here, alive and well. There isn't anything to worry about, it was just a bad dream," the Absol said, as gently as his raspy voice could be, but I couldn't get that terrifying image out of my head, regardless of how hard I tried.

Now it was Paul's turn to try to cheer me up,

"Here, have some breakfast- maybe a good meal will settle your mind," the Zangoose said, tossing me a few assorted Berries and Seeds. Happily obliging, I quickly downed the rations, but they didn't seem to taste like normal Berries or Seeds, so I simply say down in the corner of the room, still tortured by my dream, and stared at the wall.

It's like everything that I am doing was polluted by Gengar. What on earth did it do to me??

I turned around when I heard Riku stir, and I quickly stood up, ready to act, when I remembered that Blade still didn't trust the Shaymin. Paul saw me suddenly start from and simply said,

"Risk, just relax. Blade and I have been talking, and he has agreed to let Riku stay. He still won't let him heal that acid wound of his, but at least it's more progress than we had yesterday." I couldn't disagree with that, so I resolved to remain silent.

"Besides, we need to focus our attention on escaping this place without getting killed in the process..."

"Wait," I interrupted him,

"I sense something else's presence... It looks like something very large is approaching!" The rest of the team became concerned, and Blade implored urgently,

"What Pokemon's aura do you feel?!! Tell us!"

"It's, it's..." I concentrated as hard as I could, closing my eyes and finally saying,

"I think it's... Giratina!" My face showed nothing but alarm, and Blade's legs buckled. The rest of the team did not take the news well either, except for Riku, who was oblivious to the imminent danger,

"What's a 'Giratina'?" he asked curiously.

"I'll explain later!" Blade's voice was filled with fear, but he tried to hide it.

"For now, we need to take the emergency escape route that leads to Sharpedo Bluff, so we can at least have some time to plan our escape. Quickly, the tunnel will get us there! Take anything you can think of and hurry!" Stuffing my pack with rations, among a few other things, our team sprinted down the other tunnel, Riku following closely behind, musing,

"So this is where that other long tunnel went..."

After a few minutes, I could see some light at the end,

"I think we're close... Keep going!" Then, Blade suddenly stopped us,

"Get down!" he shouted, as a few icy spears whizzed over our heads when we dove.

"That was way too close, but we need to get up and just keep running!" The journey through the tunnel continued for what seemed like an eternity, as we sprinted until Blade's disaster sense warned us of more icicles, and we needed to hit the dirt again. Finally, we reached the other side, and, as we heard a voice hiss,

"There they are!", Paul and Blade hastily jammed a large boulder in the tunnel's exit, blocking the advancing Weavile.

"Well, I guess we don't get a chance to plan... Just run past Treasure Town and escape!" However, before we could finally flee from the Guild, Gengar appeared out of the shadows and sneered, blocking our progress.

"Now where do you think you're going?!" Gengar taunted us, with his trademark smug grin. He waved a shadowy hand, and hordes of spirits began to block the exit to the outside world.

"I... We won't lose this chance! Not today, Gengar- you won't kill us!" I concentrated and launched an Aura Sphere that cleaved a path through Gengar's quickly-assembling army of Ghost Pokemon, causing many an eerie, high-pitched wail.

"Now!" I shouted, and our team surged past the ghostly crowd and into the surrounding forest.
