X. Hospital
New term!
(Age) = Reader's age (duh)
(Age Gap From 49) = Literally what it says. In this story, Krennic is 49.
I'm also assuming the reader is a year or more less than Krennic, but if you are the same age or older... well... either pretend you're younger or switch every word that readers 'younger' to 'older.'
I still do not own anything.

You wake up in pitch black. Your eyes scan around, looking for something familiar to get a sense of where you are. You hear the soft peeping of something next to you and your eyes are immediately drawn to the sound. There's some small red lights above your head. It takes you a moment to realize that the peeping is from a monitor. The small light from the monitors is enough for your eyes to adjust to the dimness. You can make the faint outlines of a hospital setting. Your nose also detects the sterile hospital smell.
Why is it so dark in here? Maybe you are back in space? Or it's night time?
You realize you must have been sitting up because your head starts to feel heavy and you lay back down. You don't remember falling back asleep but when you open your eyes, the room has some natural light flowing into it. You turn your head towards the window and see the tops of a few buildings glimmering in the morning sun. So you haven't left Rikon yet...
Well that made sense, considering the Raider exploded.
The Raider. You had forgotten about the Raider. Was it normal to feel this confused and uncertain after a coma? Or were you just pretending it because that's what always happened in the holomovies? Perhaps that would be a better question to ask when you were feeling better and Krennic was around.
Speaking of Krennic, you had come to realize that he too was in the room. The only difference between you and him was that he was fast asleep in a chair. His head propped up against his fist. He looked like he was going to wake up with a serious jaw and neck cramp from the position he was in.
You found yourself captivated by the way he slept. Call it creepy, but it reminded you of the second day you had been his apprentice. You started to wonder if something was wrong with you.
As you studied him, you began to realize that he had some pretty bad cut marks on him. The most noticeable were on his hands, some of which had scabs on them. Other scars on his body included nicks on his face and exposed parts of his neck. Each scar probably had some major story to it that you were curious to learn about later.
Krennic suddenly groaned and opened his eyes. He stared blankly at the window past you. Then his eyes slowly shifted towards your direction. Suddenly he was wide awake and bounded right to your side. "(Name)! He cried, his eyes flooded with relief.
"Hey," you said, smiling. "What are you doing here?"
"Someone had to watch you sleep," He said. It took him a moment to realize what he said, but when he did, his eyes widened and he began swearing. "Kriff! Reekshite! That was not what I mean to say! Forcing hell-"
You cut him off. "It's okay." Well, normally you would murder whoever would say that to you, but Krennic was... different. You actually felt comfortable with him keeping an eye out for you.
He sighed and sat on the edge of your bed. "Do you remember what happened?"
"We don't have the Raider anymore, that's for sure," You said.
Krennic nodded. "Well... we don't have the engine that we were working on. It was hit by a grenade and it just so happened you and I were the closest ones to the explosion." You nod, your eyes fixated on the signs of first and second degree burns on Krennic's wrists and hands.
"Do you know who threw the grenade?" You ask.
He doesn't move for a minute. When he does, it's a slow bobbing of the head. You can see detest taking over his icy eyes. You can hear the pitch in his voice change and it's obvious something's upsetting him. "Her name is Barcalon Reid. She leads a small terrorist group against the Empire and Rebellion. She states that she's bringing peace to the Galaxy but her idea of peace is wiping out every person on a planet. She's also my cousin."
As though the situation wasn't touchy enough. You felt bad for Krennic. "I'm sorry..." you said.
He shrugs. "Honestly, she and I have never liked each other from the very beginning. As kids, she loved to toy with me, often on the brink of death. Threatening to the point where I could have died any moment was her favorite thing to do." He clenches his fist. "I can't wait to put an end to her life."
You don't really blame Krennic. If his cousin was going to try and kill him, then he had every right to try and kill her. "I want to help you," you say. "We have to stop your cousin before she destroys anyone else."
"You can help when you get better," he says. "For now... I want you to rest."
You smile. "If you were Tarkin, I'd already be back on my feet working."
"Then let's be glad I'm not Tarkin," He says, though his voice is dry of humor.
You had a strong feeling he despised Tarkin. But just to be sure, you asked him what he would do with Tarkin if he was allowed to do anything.
"My answer is not the most respectful..." he said. "But I would stab him thirty-seven times with a lightsaber."
"Me too!" You said. Actually, you would have just put a bullet to his brain but Krennic's way was much more interesting.
Krennic's eyes light up and he smiles. "We have very similar thoughts."
"We might as well be the other half of each other!" You say. Then you realize that that was a little careless to say and you try to take it back. "Well... not in the sense of... actually being the other half or one another."
He shakes his head tiredly. "How is it that you get second degree burns on your body, a severe concussion, and still maintain your overhyped attitude?"
"It's probably my age," you admit. "I am younger than you."
"To be fair, I actually don't know your age. I'm guessing you're... " he pauses to think but it soon just turns into a very long pause. So you answer.
"(Age)."
"So you are younger than me. But not by too much, no?"
"Hey! I'm (age gap from 49) years younger!" You cry.
"Not to me. You act like a little kid."
"Orson!"
"I'm just teasing you, (Name)." He claps your shoulder. "But you do act like a kid."
"You act as though I've known you for years."
He pauses, and his smile disappears. "Well... I will admit, you're the first good thing Tarkin has given to me. And I hope you'll be the last good thing."
You can't help but smile. The words bring you joy to your heart. You look into Krennic's eyes. Even though he isn't smiling anymore, his eyes possess that glimmer of happiness that was rarely seen. And here you had seen it more than thrice in the last few weeks.
You hadn't realized how much you were leaning towards Krennic until he places his hand on your shoulder. "You should probably get some rest. I want you to feel good when you're released." He pushes you down against the pillows and stands up. He adjusts the covers for you. "I expect to see you in good health soon, Private (L/Name)."
"I'll make sure of that, Director Krennic," You say. The corners of his lips turn up and he parts his lips to let his teeth show through.
Suddenly he leaned down and pressed his lips against yours. You didn't have anything against the movement and found yourself kissing back. When you two pulled away, you found yourself blushing and smiling. He was doing the same thing.
"(Name), I think I love you," he said.

HAHA!! I DIDNT WAIT UNTIL CHAPTER 15 TO WRITE THE KISS!! I know, it's nothing epic, but I need to work on writing kiss scenes so that will probably end up in the make out session in some other chapter.
Who caught the Llamas With Hats reference? And what do you think of Barcalon Reid?
