Thanksgiving Feasts!

PLEASE READ IMPORTANT AUTHOR NOTE AT THE END!

"HAPPY THANKSGIVING!" Jacob yells while running up to me and giving me a hug.

"It's Thanksgiving, isn't it?" I laugh before hugging him back. "Happy Thanksgiving!"

"LEXIE!" I hear Carter scream from upstairs and then he runs down. "What do I need to wear?"

My dad is leaving to go back to his job tomorrow and, since it's Thanksgiving, my mom is throwing a big party for the holiday and partially for a go away party. So a bunch of my relatives will be there.

"You don't have to dress up," I giggle. "Just wear what you normally wear. My family doesn't judge."

"Are you sure?" he questions me and I nod. Then he runs back upstairs.

A few seconds later, Shawn walks down stairs. He's wearing jeans and a red flannel.

"When are we leaving?" he asks before sitting on the countertop.

"As soon as everybody's ready," I explain. "That should be done pretty soon."

"Thanks. Oh and I like your outfit," he adds.

I'm currently wearing my hair in two French braids and I have my dark blue shorts on with a black tank top.

"Thanks?" I laugh. It was pretty casual, but I'm glad he likes it.

"IM READY TO PARTY!" Jack G yells before strutting downstairs.

"We'll leave when everyone's ready-" I start to say, but then everyone else comes running downstairs. "Okay, we're leaving right now then."

He laughs and then we go to the cars. Shawn, Aaron, Nash, and Cameron are with me in my car.

"Is your family nice?" Aaron quietly asks.

"Nooo, they're monsters," I laugh sarcastically. "Of course they're nice! They'll love all of you guys."

"I've only met your mom when we all stayed at your house after the carnival," he responds in defense. "So I didn't know."

"Lexie's mom loves me!" Cameron yells and I giggle.

"She sees you as an older brother to me," I exclaim.

When we pull up to my street, there's already tons of cars.

"Wow, you have a really big family," Nash laughs.

"Well most of my aunts, uncles, and cousins are here," I tell them. "I guess we'll just have to park a little further away."

I end up trying to find a parking about a block away, which I don't mind at all. But Taylor, who is driving behind us, looks really confused.

"Shawn, will you call Taylor please," I chuckle while hanging him my phone to him.

"Sure," he agrees before dialing his number and putting it on speaker.

"Hello?" Taylor says through the phone.

"Hey, Taylor, we have to park over here because it's so crowded back there," Shawn explains.

"Oh," he laughs. "That makes sense. I was confused."

"We could tell," Nash yells loudly into the phone.

"Okay, I'll tell Lox because she's driving the car behind us," Taylor tells us before hanging up.

"LOOK! There's a parking spot!" Shawn exclaims after a few minutes.

I quickly park in the spot and get out of the car.

"I feel like there's a festival going on or something," Cameron chuckles. "There's so many people!"

"Right!?" I giggle.

When Taylor and Lox had finished parking, we all start walking together to my moms house.

"I'm going to walk for once," I say and Shawn smirks.

"I was wondering why you were still walking," he admits.

After a few minutes, we finally make it to our destination. I knock on the door and then my dad answers the door.

"Lexie!" my dad grins before giving me a big hug. "How are you?"

"I'm doing pretty good," I smile.

"And how are you, Shawn," my dad laughs while shaking Shawn's hand.

"I'm great, sir," he responds kindly.

"Who are these other people?" Dad questions me.

"These are a few of my friends- since Mom knows all of them, she said they could come," I explain before introducing them all to him.

"Well it's nice to meet everyone. You can all come in now," he smiles before ushering us inside. "The cookout is in the backyard, and so are all of the other kids."

I nod and then walk to the backyard. As soon as I step outside I hear a small little screech and then I feel someone grab my knees. Then I look down and see a big blob of blond curly hair.

"LEXIE!" my little cousin, Paisley, squeals excitedly.

"Paisley!" I grin while lifting her up into my arms.

"Guess what?" she giggles.

"What?" I smile.

"I just turned three!" she announces proudly. "I'm a big girl now!"

"You are, aren't you?" I laugh.

"Who's that?" she questions me while frowning. I look over and see that she's pointing to Shawn and the other guys. "Is that your boyfriend?"

"No," Shawn chuckles, answering for me. "Lexie's one of my best friends."

As soon as he said that, my sixteen year old cousin Tristan walks over.

"Ooh, you just got friend-zoned," he smirks and I roll my eyes before laughing.

"Gosh,Shawn, you're so brutal," Matt chimes in.

Paisley gives me a confused look, but Tristan just laughs. Then he and Matt start talking. All of the other guys are either in the conversation or talking to other people.

The little girl in my arms starts to squirm so I let her down.

"Come here!" she chirps before grabbing my hand and running over to here destination. I grab Shawn's arm and drag him along with me.

After a few seconds I realize where Paisley is taking us to- the sand box.

"Can you help me build a sand castle?" she asks me before giving me the puppy-dog eyes.

"Sure!" I agree before grabbing a mold and filling it up with sand and water.

I hear light footsteps behind my before I turn around and see my little cousin, Noah.

"Hi, Noah," I smile. He's three just like Paisley, but they don't always get along.

"Can I make a sand castle with you guys?" he quietly asks me.

(Authors note: Kaylee, I wrote this part just for you since little kids love you so much)

"NO!" Paisley yells at him before his bottom lip trembles and he turns around and runs away.

"PAISLEY!" I scold. "You can't not let Noah play with us!"

"But I don't like him," she pouts. "He annoys me."

"Look, Shawn annoys me but I still let him hang out with me," I joke and Shawn rolls his eyes.

"Wow, thank you," he laughs.

"So? Shawn is Shawn. Noah is Noah. I don't like Noah. So he can't hang out with me," she explains and I sigh. Little kid logic...

"Go and apologize to Noah," I command.

"No! He's annoying! And he has cooties!" she spits out and I raise an eyebrow.

"Go apologize," I say once more. Then she huffs and stomps over to him.

"Your good with little kids," Shawn chuckles.

"Well, I'v been surrounded by little kids my whole life," I admit.

"It hasn't done anything terrible," he admits.

A few minutes later, Paisley and Noah come walking over.

"Did Paisley apologize to you?" I ask Noah.

"Yeah," he nods.

"Okay, now who's ready to build a sand castle?" I cheer.

"Me!" Paisley and Noah yell in unison.

Noah starts creating a flat base on the ground while Paisley fills up the mold. When she sits it down on the surface, it crumbles to pieces.

"What did I do wrong?" she cries out.

"Don't worry, you just need it to be a little wetter," Shawn assures her. "I'll go grab some water right now."

A few minutes later, he comes back with a glass of water.

"First we should put the water into the mold," he explains.

"Lexie should put the water in," Paisley giggles.

"Okay," I smile and then I dump the water into the small castle mold.

"Next you put the sand in-" Shawn starts to say, but before he can finish his sentence, Noah and Paisley start chucking sand into the mold. "Now someone has to flip the mold over."

"You do it, Shawn!" Noah exclaims.

"Are you sure?" he asks them, raising an eyebrow.

"YES!" Paisley squeals.

"Okay, okay," Shawn chuckles. Then he grabs the mold and quickly flips it over. When he pulls it off, there's a perfect sand castle in its place.

"Yay!" the two little kids cheer before running over to Shawn and giving him a hug.

"Aww," I giggle while watching the little kids jump into his arms.

"Noah!" I hear my Aunt Suzy call out. "Come here! It's time to eat!"

"I don't want to!" he pouts and I hold back a laugh.

"Lexie, was he being alright?" she questions me while scurrying over to pick up her child.

"He was just fine," I promise. "We just built a sand castle."

"Oh, that's a great sand castle!" she exclaims before talking to us for a few more minutes. "Okay, Noah, we really have to go eat now. You don't want your food to get cold."

"Fine," he finally agrees before sprinting back up to the house.

"Do you want to go and get some food?" I ask Shawn.

"Sure," he agrees.

"I'm hungry, too!" Paisley adds.

"Okay, then go find your mommy and ask her if you can eat some food. I don't know if you already ate, missy!" I laugh.

"Ugh!" she groans before running to go find her mom.

Shawn and I go inside and get in line for food. Yes, there's a line. It's pretty long too-I guess everyone must be hungry.

When it's finally time to go up and get our food, I get a little bit of turkey, mash potatoes, baked beans, and a slice of warm pumpkin pie.

Then we both go outside and sit on the ground because all of the seats are taken.

A few minutes later, Tristan, Matt, and Cameron come and sit by us.

"I saw Paisley throw a fit," Tristan chuckles.

"Yeah, she didn't want Noah to build a sand castle with us," I explain and he laughs.

"Gosh, she can be so stubborn sometimes," he shakes his head.

I start to eat my food, but then Matt takes his fork and eats a bite of my pie.

"Matt," I groan. "Go get your own!"

"But it's too far," he sighs.

"Gosh," Cameron adds, "you are lazier than Lexie."

"Is that possible?" Shawn gawks.

"Shut up," I giggle while playfully elbowing him.

"Can I sit with you guys?" I hear a small voice say. I look over and see that Paisley is back.

"Sure!" I agree while sticking my arms out. I lift her up over everyone and sit her down on my lap.

"Paisley, all you got was pie!" I laugh.

"Shh, don't tell mommy!" she whispers and everyone laughs.

"I thought your mommy helped you get your food," I exclaim.

"Noo," she smirks. "Uncle George did."

Uncle George is one of of those uncles that is really fun and always seems to make everyone happy.

When I finish my food, I take my plate and go throw it away.

"Can you push me on the swing?" Paisley asks Shawn and I.

"Sure," I agree.

Paisley then grabs Shawn's hand and starts walking towards the swing set.

"Ohhh, I think she has a crush on you," I whisper into his ear and he laughs.

When I start to push Paisley on the swing, I say,"Don't steal my man."

She gives me a weird look but Shawn starts laughing.

Paisley babbles on and on about unicorns and Barbie Dolls while we listen and continue to push her on the swing.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" she asks Shawn. "I want to be a fairy!"

"I want to be a singer," he answers.

"Lexie sings too!" she gasps before putting the pieces together. "Do you two sing together?"

"Yep," I laugh.

"That's cool!" she exclaims.

"It's very cool," Shawn agrees.

"Paisley!" Aunt Marlene yells a few moments later. "It's time to go home."

"No!" she squeals. "Hide me, hide me!"

I run in front of Paisley and Shawn stands behind her.

"Nice try," my aunt laughs.

"But mommy!" Paisley pouts. "I don't want to go!"

"Honey, it's past your bed time," she explains.

"No!" my little cousin denies.

"You can visit Lexie and Shawn soon, okay?" Aunt Marlene coaxes. "Or you can FaceTime them."

"But I want to stay!" she wails.

I lift Paisley up and give her a big hug. "I'll see you soon, alright?" she nods.

"Bye, Paisley!" Shawn adds before giving her a hug.

"Byeeee," she calls out when her mother lifts her up and starts to take her back to the car.

"She's exhausted," I laugh.

"I could tell- her eyes started to get really droopy," Shawn agrees.

"You're really good with kids, you know?" I compliment. "I'v never really seen you with kids before, other than Skylynn, Aliyah, and some younger fans."

"Yeah," he shrugs. "Paisley is hilarious. So was Noah."

"Yeah," I laugh.

"So, can we go hang out with my dad and some of the other guys?" I ask. "I want to hang out with my dad a little bit since he's leaving tomorrow."

"Of course," he agrees. "I like your family-they're awesome. Everyone seems so chill and laid back."

"For the most part," I laugh before we head out to go and find the other guys.
