"So this is the library," I said as I entered the last room, with the walls lined up with thousands and thousands of books. Coming to this place is quite like a dream come true for every book lover. And the same principle falls for me.

"I must regain my memory!" I said with extra spirit, while I actually want to get as much information about this world as possible.

"That's the spirit, milady! I must help you any way possible!" Emily, who was standing behind, cheered with the same energy.

"Okay, then you can leave me alone. Also bring my lunch or snacks here!" I said walking further into the library.

"Huh?" Emily tilted her head.

"Go on now~" I said, not looking back as I pulled out random books from the shelves.

"Milady!" Emily complained and whined until I pushed her out of the library.

"Finally some peace and quiet,"

Starting off with the Alastria and its history, with the help of the librarian I was able to gather all the books about Alastria which was at least more than a 100 books, and just so I don't kill myself, the elderly librarian only gave me 20 books to read. Well, even 20 books are a lot.

Alastria, is a very large empire. Consisting of about 45 small kingdoms and 23 larger kingdoms, alongside with Alastria's own territory it's quite a bit. Even though many of the kingdoms are really small and almost the size of one city, the larger kingdoms are almost the same size as Alastria's original territory. As all this was hard for the Emperor to manage on his own, the whole of Alastria was divided into 17 sections. Having a few selected nobles under each section to oversee the matters of that section. Every matter regarding Alastria and its territories are discussed in the council meeting which is held once in every 2 months, all the nobles who take part in the politics, military and other matters of the council are required to join.

Both the Emperor and the crown prince take part in the council meeting. After the royal family, there are two Grand Duke families who are mostly direct or indirect descendants of the royal family. But in the current timeline of the novel, only one Grand Duke is present, while the other position is empty. After the Royal family and the grand Duke territory, come the four Dukes of the empire. The Esmeray Dukedom, the Adarlan Dukedom, the Idanlena Dukedom and the Rhiannon Dukedom.

The four duke families stand as four pillars of the empire as the largest territories of the 17 territories are given to them. Alongside the Zehava Grand dukedom, the Esmeray duchy has the largest military force. It's been almost 7 to 8 years since the Esmeray duchy surpassed the Zehava Grand duke, in terms of military force and skills.

Aside from the two families which support the empire by military force, the Adarlan dukedom has been true to their title as 'the wise' and 'the thinker'. The Adarlan not only helped with the empire making wise decisions for itself, they also made decisions for the people of the empire. Helping the Emperor make the empire a better place with their wisdom is what keeps the empire going and makes it grow so large.

But to utilise the ideas of Adarlan and to put use of the wise words, the Idanlena dukedom does the rest. The import, the export, the merchants, the business, everything that includes the financial issues of the empire alongside the taxes are what they handle. Without missing a beat all these years they have been handling the financial empire flawlessly.

And lastly the Rhiannon dukedom, the one who serves justice. All the laws established, the crimes, the criminals, the innocents and frames and what they deal with. The family are known to be neutral and not choosing sides, like the goddess of justice they don't pick sides. The Rhiannon also serve as the judge in the imperial court. Before establishing any law, the Rhiannon's are the one who undergo the matter.

Though these four dukedoms were considered as the four pillars, the other nobles had territories and nothing less. To be able to monitor a whole territory without mistakes, and help the empire grow is as important a task as the other four. There are many families with genius who made great inventions while others became scholars.

But aside from all that, there is another house which is considered to be as important as the other four and in incharge as a pretty big territory. This is under Reamann Marquess. Unlike the other four duchies, there wasn't a specific reason to put Reamann under a big territory, but the one reason was enough to overcome the others. Throughout all these years, Reamann has been and still is the master of the tower, the head magician of the Tower of magic.

At the very beginning of Alastaria, the first king of Alastaria made the god of light and truth as the patron God of Alastaria. The god was happy by this sign of respect and blessed the Alastair bloodline with magic. Which is why everyone from the Alastair bloodline has red iris. As the people from Alastair bloodline were gifted with magic they are born with a very strong mana, eventually after their royal debutante, they trained under the tower of magic to control their abilities. Other than the royal Alastair bloodline, another bloodline was blessed with magic. It's the Reamann bloodline. The household of the Reamann Marquess. There's a rumor that the archwizard Proteus once crossed paths with Reamann. When the archwizard was resting, some black magic wielders tried to kill the archwizard. That's when someone from Reamann used their magic to save the archwizard. The archwizard Proteus, astonished by such magic, gave the Marquess access to the Tower as he was in debt to the Marquess for saving his life. Which is why Marquess Reamann are the head of the Tower of Magic.

But regardless of what the rumours said, the Reamann are the strongest magicians through the centuries.

Now the question arises about magic. Which leads to the next 20 books I skipped over too.

Magic in this world is different. It was not like swinging a wand and being like 'abracadabra' and expecting things to float. It's way different than that. There are magic, magic stones, soul stones, potions, and mythical creatures. This world had no bound to magic. In this world, there is both magic and science, but the relation between them is more like oil and water; they never mix or cross paths with each other. This is why the founder of the tower of magic, the archwizard Proteus created the tower far away from the mainlands of Alastaria.

But even in this world not everyone is able to do magic or learn magic. Everyone is born with a certain amount of mana, or magic, inside them. There are also people who are born with no magic, but that's not something weird. Most people have a very low amount of mana, it's more like 90% of the people have low mana or absolutely no mana. So people with high mana were scouted by the tower of magic.

That is the case for commoners and other people around Alastaria.

The magic around the tower has gotten vaster and more advanced. Different types of magic are discovered every now and then. There are a few specific types which are known as the pillars of magic. In other words, the most important type of magic.

Like the Practical magic division. The people who join that division mostly practice practical magics and do research on them. Everyone who joins the tower of magic first needs to go through the Practical magic division. It mostly includes the basics of magic, spells, nonverbal spells and motion detection spells. Next is the Conjuration and weapon magic division. The name basically describes it's specialty. There are more divisions like Restoration magic division, Psionic/charm magic division, Evocation magic division and Abjuration magic division. There are also other divisions like transporting magic, healing and time management divisions. Healing magic plays a huge part all over Alastaria's hospitals and health care centers.

Though all these types of magic derived from the very first type of magic used by the Archwizard there is no written record about that.

"Milady! Please wake up, milady!" The feeling of being shaken, woke me from my slumber.

"Did I fall asleep?" I yawned.

"Yes milady, please come to your room and get some sleep! I am worried about your health!" Emily panicked and complained as I just sighed.

"Okay, okay. Let's go." leaving the pile of books behind me, I left the library in the middle of night.
