Marigold Hope Everly hasn't always had the easiest childhood, her parents died tragically in a hit and run when she was six, and because they had no known relatives, she and her older twin Violet were forced to live in the local orphanage.

Many children were wary of the twins calling them the Evil Everly girls as strange occurrences were known to happen around them, such as things going missing, objects floating or lights flickering.

Because of this, both Marigold and Violet were considered outcasts and were rarely ever fostered or adopted, those who did were quickly put off by the odd happenings that surrounded the Everly sisters, and they were always returned to the orphanage, but that never dampened their cheery demeanour,  they never cared, Marigold and Violet were born best friends. To them, they were all the family they needed.

Unfortunately, tragedy seemed to follow the twins like a shadow, and Violet soon became ill. Yet, the Everly sisters still kept their smiles. They laughed together. They danced together, dyed their hair crazy colours and stayed up late into the night making memories together.

But time can be fleeting, and on the 19th of April, a week before their birthday, Marigold's worst feat came true, and Violet Faith Everly lost her year-long battle with her illness, leaving Marigold alone, twinless and without her best friend by her side, but before She passed away, Violet left Marigold with one last gift, a pair of rollerskates and a classic walkman with dozens of mixtapes of their favourite songs.

One of those tapes was a message to Marigold, left by Voilet telling her that she's at peace and no longer hurting and promises to go forth and live life to the fullest like they always wanted to.

And Marigold kept that promise every day still kept her bright and happy demeanour. She never took her skates off and always kept the sister that she loved close to her heart and promised to live her life to the fullest. Little did she know that her life was about to take a dramatic turn.

On the day of her 11th birthday, two strange men arrive at the orphanage named Albus Dumbledore and Remus Lupin to tell her two things one, she is a witch, and two, Remus Lupin is her only living relative.

It turns out that her great Aunt Hope (who she was named after) married a wizard and they had a child together called Remus Lupin, who Marigold instantly took to calling Uncle Remus. She is offered a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and a home with Remus, who is very reluctant at first but soon warmed to the sunny and infectious personality that is Marigold Everly.

Mari fit into the wizarding world like a duck on water. She adores her pet Puffskein that Remus got her and was eager to learn every area that she could, even when she learnt of her uncle's condition that only spurred her further into learning more about magic so she could help him and others like him, making it her mission to become an Animagi like the famed Marauders she'd heard so much about.

She loves her time at Hogwarts, and everyone seems to like her. It's hard to find anyone who hates Marigold, teachers and students alike. Even Snape seems unusually tolerant of her. the only person who seems to hate her is Flitch (and later on Umbridge).

He hates how she's always on her rollerskates and leaving wheel marks on the floor, and she never hears him because of her constantly listening to her walkman. He hates those two muggle devices so much that he confiscates them and locks them in his room. 

Distraught over the loss of her most treasured possessions, she sets out on a task to rescue her beloved walkman and skates, but Marigold has never broken into Flitch's office. The only thing she's broken at Hogwarts is the school dress code. She doesn't want to bother her uncle. This is the first stable job he's had since he adopted her, so she has to find some other way.

Marigold needs some help, and it just so happens that she's caught the eye of two troublemaking Weasleys.

It's hard not to notice the tall redhead on rollerskates zooming down the halls of Hogwarts as she listens to her muggle device, Fred and George certainly have. She is the mystery muggle-born of Hogwarts. Everyone knows of Marigold Everly, but no one really knows her.

So it came as a shock to the twins when she appeared in front of them, sans skates and walkman, asking for their help in a rescue mission to save them from Flitch, and dish out a bit of payback on the way.

Now the twins are always up for tormenting Flitch, but they won't just help her for nothing. They are busy people, planing for their future joke shop, their time is expensive. Luckily Marigold has something the twins want...her brain! No, they didn't phrase it like that, or maybe they did...this is the twins we're talking about. 

It's no secret that if you want help in Transfiguration or Care for Magical Creatures, Marigold Everly is your go-to girl, and it just to happens that they need her help with a certain little project. They need her help in making the next Weasleys' Wizard Wheeze product, the Pygmy Puff, and this eccentric girl with a Puffskein on her shoulder seems like the perfect candidate.

They never expected her to say yes, but then again...they don't know just how much that walkman and those rollerskates mean to Marigold.

Marigold learns instantly that It's almost impossible to hate Fred and George. She sees a lot of how she and Violet used to be, and it's a feeling she has missed ever since Violet died, and to the twins, Marigold is the missing 3rd of their pranking trio they never knew they needed.

It's not long before they find out about her twin Violet and the truth shocks them that the sweet Music obsessed Marigold they know and love has been through what they would consider their worst nightmare, yet still manages to smile every day.

It's also not long before Fred and Marigold start to think of each other in a different way, Mari has already been through so much, and Fred just wants to make her happy, and Mari wants to make sure that the smile on Freddies faces stays there forever.

But Hogwarts is a dangerous place and when the only living relative and father figure of the girl you love is not only a werewolf but a Hogwarts professor, well...let's just say that Freddie has bigger problems than the danger of Voldermort lurking around.

In the language of flowers, Marigold means Passion and creativity. It also can mean grief as well as being associated with the legendary brave and courageous lion.

Although Violet and Marigold are twins, they are technically a day apart, with Violet being born at 11:54 pm on the 25th of April and Marigold at 00:06 am on the 26th, they used to stay up until midnight to wish each other happy birthday at the last minute of Violets birthday and the first minute of Marigolds, she continues this tradition, but it is one of the rare instances where Marigold cries.

She kept hers and Violets Hogwarts letter with her and has it framed at home next to hers.

She was petrified along with Colin and Hermionie during the Chamber of Secrets.

If Violet were alive, she would have been sorted into Hufflepuff

Fred and George call her Goldie, but Fred also calls her Mari (not Marie)

Her signature Rollerskates and Walkman were the last present Violet ever gave her. She is very attached to them and is rarely seen without them. She can often be seen gliding through the halls on her skates or sat by the lake listening to her music.

Her Favorite colour is any shade of purple, and In memory of her sister, she always has part of her hair dyed violet in various ways (e.g. ombre, bangs, highlights)

She is canonically pansexual, and her first kiss/crush was a girl she met at Hogwarts in her first year. It is one of Marigold's biggest regrets that she never got to come out to her sister, and it is something that still weighs on her mind to this day.

She loves music and has a Puffskein who goes everywhere with her. She named her after her favourite singers, her full name is Ronnette Freddie Nicks the 3rd but is called Ronnie for short, and she loves to be dressed up in little pink bows. Remus gave it to her for her 11th birthday

Marigold is a laidback, free-spirited girl who rarely lets anything get to her, usually brushing it off and doing her own thing. She is the type of person that is friendly with everyone and always smiled and waved at people in the hall.

She is the type of person who loves to take every day as they come and enjoy the new experiences life brings but isn't afraid to try new ones and be a bit adventurous.

Marigold is never ashamed of what happened to her sister, nor is she afraid to talk and joke about her. She's just glad that her sister is no longer suffering, and she knows that laughing and joking about her is how Violet wanted to be remembered.

Although she is very social with everyone, she only has one true friend she hangs out with. A Hufflepuff called Layla Khatri. They met when Layla found Mari's lost walkman and returned it to her, and they have been inseparable ever since.

She is a bright witch, not as bright as Hermione, but is one of the smartest in her classes. She loves being a witch and all magic areas, wanting to explore and learn every area she can.

Even though Marigold has had a tragic childhood, she doesn't let it affect her. She is a happy and joyful person but is still somewhat repressive with her emotions, and while she rarely does feel sad, she prefers to deal with it by herself. She misses her sister every day but the memories of their time together always make her smile.

Marigold idolises Remus and loves him dearly. Because she has very few memories of her parents, considers him to be a father figure of sorts, she is very caring and motherly towards him and gets very protective if someone insults him in front of her.

She visits her sisters grave every year to place a wreath of violets and marigolds.

After learning of her uncle's lycanthropy and past as a marauder, Marigold made it her mission to perfect and brew the Animagis potion before the end of her 5th year of Hogwarts and so far has spent every full moon in the Three Broomsticks when not a Hogwarts.

Her walkman and roller skates are confiscated by Flitch and enlisted the help of Fred and George to help her, and in return, she agreed to help them in breeding Pygmy Puffs because of her.

They also find out about her brewing the Animagis potion and want in on it.

Many people who know of her sister don't realise that her twin is dead because she almost always refers to her sister in the present tense. They think that she's a muggle. But even though her sister is gone, Marigold will NEVER say she had a sister. It will always be she has a sister because even though Violet is gone, it doesn't change the fact that Violet is still her sister.

Layla is not the most conventional of Hufflepuffs. She has a fiery temper and is fiercely loyal. She grew up with three older brothers, so she isn't afraid to fight back and voice,  ̶s̶h̶o̶u̶t̶, her own opinion.

Ever since she met Marigold and learn about what she's been through, Layla has felt an overwhelming need to protect and care for her, taking on an older sister role. She is not the smartest student and, because of her terrible studying habits, had to be held back a year. 

She is an amazing keeper for the Quiddich team, and the subjects she is most passionate about are the History of Magic and muggle studies.

She is rather Lazy, but Marigold helps her in her studies and be a bit more productive, and in turn, Layla helps her become a bit more open and trusting with her emotions.
