I just want to give fair warning regarding this novella. It deals with issues that could be upsetting for some people.

While Trinket's condition is fictional, it's actually based on several actual disorders. The symptoms she experiences are based on those that people deal with in real life, including anxiety, depression, as well as suicidal thoughts.

There is physical and emotional abuse in this story. There's attempted suicide. An entire section takes place in an asylum fashioned after those found in the 18th century. It's not pretty and it's a little disturbing.

Also, be reminded that this is indeed fiction. I took a lot of real stuff from various decades in the 19th century and smooshed them into my own imaginary world. So don't expect complete historical accuracy. If you'd like to point out something that might not be right, feel free to do so; I'm always open to learning new things. But ultimately, I don't intend on changing much of what I have here.
