chapter 19

"Imani, Imani it's time to get up", Ahkmenrah said as he shook Imani while she laid in bed.

"Huh? Oh everything was just a dream. Pharaoh Merakhane, Queen Shepsheret, my grandfather, aunt and uncle are still alive, and we are still in control of Egypt", Imani said in sleepily voice, but her eyes still were shut.

"Yeah, sorry to break it to you, but no", Ahkmenrah said with a blank expression.

Imani just groaned loudly.

"Here, i have some clean clothes that the fellow Nubians gave us, and some soap, and towels"

Imani just pull the blankets over her and groaned in fustration.

Ahkmenrah put the soap, clothes and towels down and pulled the blankets off of Imani.

"Imani, it's time to get up, we have to train for the war. We have an hour to get ready, or was it thirty minutes? Hmm, i don't remember", Ahkmenrah questioned.

"An hour sounds good, let's go wake up Amara and Kamrah, and get the two Nubian guards who will join us", Imani said while getting up out of bed.

"They are already up, I gave them clothes, towels and soap so they could get ready, which they should be done by now. But you can bathe at the lake, right behind the trees where no one can see you", Ahkmenrah said as he and Imani walked put of the tent, then he pointed to the lake.

"Gee, that is pretty obvious, where else would I bathe", Imani said sacarstically before she took a took a towel, clothes and a bar of soap from Ahkmenrah. She kissed his cheek and made her way. Ahkmenrah smiled and said...

"I love you"

Imani turned back and said blushing with a smile...."I love you more". She turned back around and continued on her path to the lake.

Once Imani reached the lake, she stripped from her dirty all black gown she was wearing from the time her and her friends snook into the palace and jumped into the lake and washed herself and her hair.

Imani then dried herself and put her clothes on. The clothes Ahkmenrah gave her was a white dress with a yellow string-like belt. It had openings on the side where the legs would show. The dress had no sleeves but was a V cut dress,

Imani's hair was still wet so she brushed her hair to lay it down and cornrowed her hair. Half of her hair was cornrowed, and the rest was of her hair was out in a long but big layed down afro. She then put her crown on. (Her crown looks like a big golden eagle laying on her head). She remembered the last time she had her crown on was during her birthday celebration and during her wedding when the Libyans invaded. She then put on eyeliner to make a cats eye and three small dots next to her eyes. Imani loved cats, she remembered how there were so many cats running around in the palace. Especially a male cat named tomi-tomi, he was Phaorah Merakhane and Queen Shepsheret's favorite kitty. But he loved spending time with Imani. He used to come sleep with Imani on her bed every night. But she wondered where tomi-tomi and the other cats were. She didnt see any when she and her friends snook through the palace. So she presumed that Damyra, Dikeleti, Kamunrah or the Libyans killed them.

Imani then made her way back to the tent, then Ahkmenrah made his way to get ready.

When Imani was all alone in her tent, she layed across her bed. She thought about the war and started to get shaken and scared. She was not scared about the training, but about dying in combat, dying by an axe or sword during the war. Matter of fact, she wasnt scared, no..........she had intense fear. Fear that she her friends would die, fear that her father, the last relative she had would perish, fear that her husband Ahkmenrah, the one that she loves dearly would die, she had a fear that Egypt would never be in her arms again, fear that she would never avenge Pharaoh Merakhane, Queen Shepsheret, her Grandfather Heptomae, her Aunt and Uncle. She had a fear that she would fail to make Egypt great again. Imani was so afraid that in fact, she would sobb when no one was looking and would shake and tremble every time she thought of the war between Egypt and Liyba over the country of Egypt. But little did Imani know that her friends, and her father had the same amount of fear and sadness. But then, she thought about it more and more about it, her fear turned into anger.

They killed her mother and father in law, they stole the country of Egypt and colonized it, they totaled it. There are broken statues, and dead bodies everywhere, debris flying, they killed hundreds of Egyptian citizens and soilders and turned the remaining Egyptian citizens and soldiers into slaves, they killed her grandfather, they killed her aunt and uncle, they verbally and physically abused her two years ago on when she lived in the farm, and she still had self esteem issues and needed counseling from the palace's doctor because of it (whom, the doctor was put to slavery as well). Imani started to feel homicidal, she wanted to kill Damyra, Kamunrah and Dikeleti on sight. Imani was breathing hard and her eyes here extremely red, she was furious. But once Ahkmenrah came back, she calmed back down.

"Hey, are you okay?", Ahkmenrah asked, coming in a little wet.

"Oh yea, I am fine, why are you wet?"

"Because somehow it is raining....in March", Ahkmenrah said walking to the tents folds and opening it up for her to see.

Imani and Ahkmenrah walked out of their tent. It was so unusual for it to rain in the month of February in a desert/savannah climate.

"That is strange, March is one of the driest months, we usually have a lot of droughts during this month and others", Imani said as she looked up at the sky.

"Do you think it is the Gods telling us it's time to get Egypt back?", Ahkmenrah asked.

"I don't know, but what I do know is that we need to hurry and practice our fighting. My father Ohept is coming with us to fight in the war, and the two Nubian men and of course..the army of the tablet", Imani said as she started to make her way to Amara and Kamrah's tent, and Ahkmenrah was right behind her.

While Imani and Ahkmenrah were talking and walking towards Amara and Kamrah's tent, Amara and Kamrah walked out of the tent, surprising Imani and Ahkmenrah a little.

"Oh sorry we scared you, we are just ready to-hold up....why is it raining?!", Amara asked as she looked up at the sky.

"That is what I am trying to figure out", Ahkmenrah said as he and the others looked up at the sky.

"Kids! Are you ready to train?! We have so little time", Ohept said as he waved Imani and her friends over. Imani and her friends shrugged their shoulders and followed Ohept, he then led them to an open field. The field was already set up with stuff. Targets, wooden figures of people used for targets, training sticks, and bows and arrows.

"Alright, we will be doing our training with different items to see what weapon are we good with and what should we use during the war. I already know what I am good with, I am better at long bow archery that anything else", Ohept explained before nervously laughing.

Then there was an awkward silence between Imani, her friends, Ahkmenrah and Ohept. Kamrah just scratched his head, Amara put her hair in a right-side braid, and Ahkmenrah stared at the ground, and Imani just looked around blankly.

"Umm, Sooooo, what do you kids want to start with first?", Ohept asked.

"It doesnt matter to me", Ahkmenrah stated.

"Same, I'll do all of them", Amara said.

"Me too", Kamrah said.

"Hmmm, I want to do archery first", Imani pointed to the five targets and the bows and arrows near them.

"Good choice daughter, alright kids, let's get ready to shoot", Ohept said before he and the others ran to different targets and grabbed a long bow with 5 arrows.

Imani choose the recurve bow, because it was easier for her to handle.

Once they got their bows, they backed up about 25 feet from their target. They all put the arrow on the bowstring and pulled back. Everyone was fine, except Amara, she had trouble pulling, but got the hang of it soon.

"Alright everyone, let it fly", Ohept yelled before letting the bowstring go and watching the arrow as it flies.

The others let go as well. Amara and Ahkmenrah missed the target, excel Kamrah, Imani, and Ohept. Kamrah only hit the top of the target, Ohept was very close to the center, but Imani, she shot the arrow exactly the center.

Imani then decided to show off and made her way to the other targets, then she aimed and shot the arrows at the remaining targets and each arrow hit the center of the target.

"Very well my daughter, very well"

Imani smiled at her father Ohept.

"Now it is time to train with the spears", Ohept said before he started walking towards big bucket of spears.

"Wait, why are we doing this? We already trained before. When we were living in the palace, we trained and learned how to use weapons, just in case we get into combat or a war...like this! Imani is better at bow and arrow, Ahkmerah is better with a sword, I am good with all, but i perfer sword as well as Ahkmenrah. Also, Amara is better at throwing a sharp spear", Kamrah explained.

"You know....You are right. We should train on the things we are good on, you and I Kamrah has taught Imani how to use a bow and arrow and you have taught Amara how to use a sharp spear, which with practice, she became great with it. Thank you for that Kamrah", Ohept smirked as he pat Kamrah on the back.

"That is not what I meant, but okay sure", Kamrah said with a blank expression.

Imani, Ahkmenrah, Amara and the others chuckled.

(Fast forward to an hour later)

Imani and the others walked back to the village from the feild where they were training, and went into their tents.

One of the Nubian Soldiers who were coming to fight along in the war walked into Imani and Ahkemenrah's tent.

"Pardon me my Queen and King, but you must hurry along with your friends, you have only several minutes to get ready for the great war"

"We will be ready as soon as possible", Imani said with authority.

The Nubian guard nodded and left the tent.

Ahkmerah put on his crown and put his sword to his side. Imani put about as many arrows that could fit into her bag and grabbed her bow and was about to walk out of the tent until
Ahkmenrah grabbed her shoulder.

"Hey, are you nervous about the war Imani?"

Imani looked at Ahkmenrah, then gulped.

"Yes, absolutely, but I am willing to die for my country and my homeland of Nubia"

Ahkmenrah grabs Imani's hand.

"And I will be right beside you, fighting with you, Amara, Kamrah, Ohept, the Nubian Guards and our great army. I can't promise that we will get Egypt back, but have faith that we will, I will risk my life and be willing to die for my country as well", Ahkmenrah said as he grabbed her shoulders and looked into her eyes.

Imani looked at him and smiled.

"I will have faith and I will be strong for my family, my friends, my people...and you", Imani grabbed his hand, and leaned closer to him.

He leaned closer to get and they were about to kiss until...

"Imani, Ahkmenrah, are you ready yet?", Amara said after walking into the tent, unaware that she interrupted their attempt to kiss.

"Yes... I am", Imani said with frustration as she walked out of the tent.

Amara nodded at Imani and made her way to the beginning of the village, for Ahkmenrah and Imani's tent was near the end of the village.

"Imani, wouldn't you need food and water to eat and drink on the way there? It is 90 degrees outside", Ahkmenrah said as he grabbed a a couple bottles (not the modern kind) and a bag full of food.

"Oh, I only need water, I am not hungry, thank you", Imani said as she grabbed the bottles.

Imani then left the tent and headed out to the beginning (north) of the village, where there were 7 horses on chariots, waiting for her, Ahkmenrah, Amara, Kamrah, Ohept and the guards. There was also a huge crowd of the Nubian refugees ready to wish them luck on their way to the Great Pyramids of Giza to fight for what was once theirs.
