Mission Impossible

A week later, Cas was lying awake in his bed, unable to sleep.

He was thinking about Dean, of course. How could he not? It had been a week since they'd last spoken, and every second of it was slowly eating away at him. How was it possible that he'd gotten so attached to Dean in such a short amount of time?

And why was he suffering so much over just ONE WEEK of not being able to talk to him? Surely he could handle that. He had gone years without even knowing who Dean was!

But this was TORTURE. Absolute torture. Especially when he technically saw Dean at least five times a day, and every day Dean looked a little sadder when he waved.

Dammit Chuck, he had learned his lesson. He'd never lie or get arrested EVER AGAIN. WHY DID HE STILL HAVE TO PAY THIS PRICE?

At least he wasn't the only one suffering. Lucifer was on the verge of a psychotic breakdown at not being able to see or talk to Chloe. She kept him sane and happy and without that...

Satan got scarier.

Gabriel wasn't faring much better. He was going through candy withdrawals and that on top of losing his moose was not a fun combination.

"Gabriel?" Cas whispered, too lazy to glance across the room and see if his brother was asleep.

"Yeah?" Gabe said, just as awake as Cas was.

"I hate this."

"Let me guess- you're thinking about Dean?"

"Yeah...You thinking about Sam?"

"Yeah."

"Maybe if we can convince Dad that we've learned our lesson, he'll let us have the boys back."

"Unlikely. I think part of him likes watching us suffer."

"That's not true."

"It has to be- where else does Satan get his cruel tendencies from?"

"Cruel tendencies?" Satan bellowed from the door and Gabriel let out a shriek. "Shut up!" Lucifer hissed, shutting the door behind him.

"Oh my god, I've gone too far, Satan's gonna kill me," Gabriel said, his eyes wide. "Cassie help!"

"No, you got yourself into this mess," Cas insisted, sitting up. "What do you want, Luci?"

"I want to see my damn girlfriend," He said simply. "And I thought you two would like to see your boyfriends as well."

"But we can't-"

"Cassie are you seriously going to tell me that out of ALL the books you've read, you've never heard of the concept of sneaking out of the house to go hook up with someone?"

"Uh-"

"The whole pebbles at the window routine? Climbing down the drainpipe or the lattice?"

"Obviously I've heard of that, but it's late!" Lucifer tossed them their phones and Gabriel gasped.

"How did you-" He started.

"I have my ways," Lucifer rolled his eyes. "Look, I'll make it simple for you two. Get in touch with your boyfriends, tell them you're coming over for a late night rendezvous or whatever. We'll slip out the storm doors from my room, take Mikey's car, and I'll drop you two off on my way to Chloe's. You can fool around for a few hours, and then I'll come pick you up before it gets too light out, we'll come home, sneak back in, and boom, nothing ever happened. You get to see your boy toys, I get to see my Queen, and Dad never knows. Wins all around, let's go, we're wasting precious darkness."

"What if we get caught?" Gabriel asked.

"Don't."

"And how are we supposed to get into the Winchester's house?" Cas asked. "Dean's grounded too."

"Sounds like a you problem, you guys coming or not?" Gabriel and Castiel exchanged a look.

"Obviously we're coming," Gabriel deadpanned.

****

Grabbing Michael's keys and slipping out of the house was the easy part. Lucifer made them push the car halfway down the block before he started it, just in case the noise woke Chuck up, but from there it looked like they were in the clear.

And then Lucifer dumped them at the Winchester's dark house and took off without another word.

"Satan is a good brother," Gabriel commented.

"...Sure," Cas offered, staring up at the house. "What now?"

"Follow me, I got directions from Sam." Gabriel wandered over and hopped the fence into the Winchester's backyard. Well, hopped is nice way of saying 'fumbled and struggled for five minutes until Cas shoved him over it and then just opened the gate and walked in after him'.

They wandered to the back of the house just as the back door swung open, moonlight illuminating a bored looking moose before them.

"SAMMY!" Gabriel cried, running over and tackling the moose, who went down like a sack of bricks.

"Will you keep it down?" Sam hissed. "If you wake my mom up, she'll have all our asses." Gabriel ignored him, too busy focusing on hugging and kissing every inch of Sam he could reach. Sam finally rolled his eyes and broke out into a smile. "Yeah yeah, I missed you too, come on."

He led them upstairs and pointed Cas in the direction of Dean's room before pulling Gabriel into his own and shutting the door behind them. Cas smiled as he shut the door to Dean's room behind him, not quite believing he was actually getting away with this.

"Hey there stranger," Dean offered, and suddenly Cas understood Gabriel's reaction.

He flung himself at Dean, who laughed and hugged him back.

"I missed you," Cas sighed.

"You do realize it's only been like a week, right?"

"A long ass week."

"It was. I missed your dumb bee facts."

"I missed those freckles."

"I don't have that many freckles."

"Yes you do, your face is covered in them and I am going to kiss every single one of them."

"Every single one of them, huh?"

"Yes."

"Just the ones on my face?" Cas smirked.

"Where else do you have them?"

"Wanna find out?"

*****

"Now, I know you missed me," Sam started as he riffled through his desk for something. Gabriel clung to his back like a monkey.

"Mhmmm," He confirmed.

"But I heard from Hannah the extent of your punishment so I thought you just might miss this a little more." Sam detached Gabriel the spider monkey, letting him fall back on Sam's bed while Sam promptly opened and dumped a bag of assorted candy on him. Gabriel's eyes widened.

"You....You got me candy?"

"I heard you weren't allowed it, which is totally wrong cause you're an addict and you shouldn't go cold turkey right off the bat-" Gabriel grasped the colorful packets of sugar in his hands, staring up at Sam in awe. "Consider it a thank you for all the cherry lollipops you've given me this year."

Gabriel continued to stare, his eyes practically turning into cartoon hearts.

"....Are you okay?" Sam asked.

"What do you want?" Gabe asked in return.

"What?"

"What. Do you. Want?" Gabriel repeated. "You gave me candy and let me kiss you. I will give you anything you want. ANYTHING."

"Gabriel you don't need to give me anyth-"

"YES I DO, I'M SERIOUS. Name it. You want a dog? I'll- I'll get you a dog. Do you want a dog? How bout a blowjob? More cherry lollipops? Books? I can only supply you one of those things right now, but I'd be happy to." Sam smiled.

"Gabriel, seriously, you don't have to get me anything. I just thought I'd try to ease your suffering for awhile."

"Yes but I'm grateful, I must shower you in some form of affection, pick your preferred kind, physical, verbal, or material?"

"Uh....physical?"

"Well in that case I'm still serious about the blowjob offer-"

"GABRIEL."

"Just telling you your options!....And you didn't say no!"

"Oh my god."

*****

"Oh my god," Cas said, delighted at what lay before him.

After some joking about Shaggy songs and Dean's freckles, somehow Cas had talked the elder Winchester out of his shirt, revealing, to Cas's delight...

MORE FRECKLES.

And, as Dean had graciously reminded him, he had promised to kiss all of them. And Cas wasn't the type of person to go back on a promise OR back down from a challenge.

And he found out Dean was a little ticklish too, which made kissing all of his freckles even more enjoyable and confirmed for Cas that even if he got caught and grounded for the rest of his life for sneaking out, this was totally, entirely worth it.

"You know," Dean said, squirming as Cas checked off the freckles on his side. "They say freckles are just kisses from angels."

"I'm named after an angel," Cas said. "Angel of Thursdays."

"Well then I guess Thursdays just became my favorite day of the week."

"I mean they don't really have anything going for them. Walker's on on Thursdays, but that's about it."

"You know," Dean started slyly. "I wonder if all this kissing will leave me with even more freckles."

"I'd have to be an angel for that."

"Well, let's see. You're named after an angel. You're perfect, and a synonym for perfect is angelic, and angels are supposed to be beautiful so you've definitely got that down. Do you play the harp?"

"No, but when I was younger I used to have a pair of felt wings I could wear."

"Then you must be an angel."

"What does that make you?"

"Whatever you want me to be, angel." Cas shivered and Dean grinned. "I think that should be your new pet name. Thoughts?" Cas paused in his freckle trail to smile up at Dean.

"Fine by me, but now I have to think up a pet name for you."

"Take your time, angel." Cas's grin turned dopey. There was something about the way that Dean said the nickname that just made it feel...good. Like he never wanted to stop hearing it.

"What about baby?"

"I call my car Baby."

"Okay then that's out... You don't look the type to be called Honey."

"Not that sweet."

"Sweetheart."

"Oh no." Cas grinned and nodded.

"I like that. You're a sweetheart now." Dean blushed.

"Absolutely not."

"Why? It's true."

"I have a reputation to uphold."

"What, afraid Jo Harvelle is gonna pick on you cause the guy you go out with calls you Sweetheart?"

"Yes."

"Wow."

"Hey, Jo can be very mean! She's a cruel person."

"Then I'll just have to talk to Charlie and ask her to make sure Jo doesn't bully you, sweetheart."

"You're never gonna stop saying that now, are you angel?" Cas leaned closer to him, their lips almost touching.

"Never."

"Good." Dean kissed him, and everything was perfect.

At least until Gabriel barged into the room.

"Cassie!" He hissed loudly, because Gabriel still does not understand the concept of being quiet. "Luci texted. He's outside, we gotta go if we wanna make it home before Dad wakes up."

"Alright, alright." Cas reluctantly climbed off Dean's bed and ran for his shoes as Dean and Gabriel eyed each other awkwardly.

"So," Gabriel started. "I trust you two were getting better acquainted?"

"Where's Sam?" Dean asked. Gabe's eyes widened.

"He's....busy." Sam stumbled into the room a minute later, disheveled and blushing harder than Cas had ever seen anyone blush.

"Time to go," He insisted, grabbing Gabriel's arm and yanking him toward the stairs. Cas rolled his eyes.

"See you in school, sweetheart."

"Will do, angel." Cas headed for the door. "Cas!"

"Yes?" Cas paused and looked back at him. Dean rubbed at his neck sheepishly.

"I know it's completely last minute, but I totally forgot about asking you sooner, so..." He cleared his throat. "Do you maybe wanna be my boyfriend?" Cas broke out in a smile.

"I would love to."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. Cool...Then I guess we're boyfriends now."

"I guess we are." They stared at each other for a minute, like the dopey dumbasses they were, until Gabriel hissed from the stairs.

"CASSIE." Cas jumped out of his daze, waved a quick goodbye to Dean, and he and Gabriel snuck back out of the Winchesters' house and into Lucifer's waiting car.

"Took you two long enough," Satan muttered.

"SOMEONE took forever to leave," Gabriel explained, shooting Cas a look. He didn't care, he just sat in the car with a stupid happy expression.

"What happened?" Luci asked. "Did he get laid or something?"

"I don't know." Gabriel snapped his fingers in front of Cas's face. "Buddy, what happened?" Cas took in a deep breath.

"DEAN FUCKING WINCHESTER IS MY BOYFRIEND!" He screamed, loud enough that Luci swerved the car and started swearing as Gabriel clamped his hands over his ears.

"How that didn't break glass-" Gabriel started.

"WHAT!" Lucifer yelled. "You finally locked down Winchester??"

"YES."

"AWESOME!!!" Satan flung a hand back and high fived him. "Way to go, little brother!" Cas flailed in his seat, too happy to contain it. "What about you, Gabe, anything awesome to report?" Gabriel paused.

"I mean...I don't think you'd want to hear it..." He admitted. "Cause-"

"Just tell us, I'm Satan, I can handle anything."

"Okaaaaaayyyyyy,"

"What is it?"

"Sam is HUNG."

"What?"

"Like a FULL SIZED POPSICLE-"

"OH MY GOD-" Cas clamped his hands over his ears and Lucifer started cackling.

"AND NOT THE SHITTY POPSICLES, LIKE THOSE ONES BIG ENOUGH FOR MULTIPLE COLORS-" Lucifer laughed harder as Cas started yelling to drown out his brother's voice.

"LA LA LA-" He shouted.

"What did you expect?" Lucifer asked. "He's freakishly tall! That's just science-"

"STILL THOUGH-"

"LA! LA! LA! LA!-"

Lucifer laughed the rest of the way home.

And by some miracle, they got back inside, up to their rooms, and were pretending to be fast asleep in their beds before Chuck even opened his eyes.

Mission Accomplished.
