Movie Sequel Comparisons
So I'm watching Kung Fu Panda 2 right now, and I realized something.
This movie, in my opinion, was so well done. Like it gave ten year-old me all the feels an epic fantasy book gives me. (LIKE THRONE OF GLASS)
Seriously it's funny and totally made me sob and is epic and the villain chilled me and the backstory makes sense
I haven't seen the third but I feel like it's gonna start the dangerous path of multiple kids movie sequels.
ANYWAY, I REALIZED SOMETHING ELSE
For the most part, DreamWorks has really great second movie sequels. Maybe not third/fourth/fifth/etc. but DEFINITELY second
THINK ABOUT IT. Ice Age 2. How to Train Your Dragon 2. Shrek 2. Kung Fu Panda 2 (THIS MOVIE GIVES ME SO MANY FEELS OKAY).
But think of Disney sequels.
Disney movie standalones are GREAT.
But then the sequels . . . *shudders*
It's like they make a great movie and realize that they can make a quick buck if they make a sequel and stamp the popular movie name on it.
I love Disney but stop with the sequels. The only one I LOVED was Dead Man's Chest but even so by the fourth Pirates movie they SHOULD'VE STOPPED. IT WAS DONE. JUST SAYIN'. I'm still gonna see the fifth though.
And also Star Wars, but that was George Lucas'. So I don't think that counts.
OH AND FINDING DORY
OKAY SO NOT ALL DISNEY SEQUELS ARE BAD AND NOT ALL DREAMWORKS SEQUELS ARE GREAT, but they tend to be that way for the most part.
