Chapter 3
I continued staring into Tords cold grey eyes. "Please, Tord, answer me. Stop making this so awkward."
Tord sighed, then approached me slowly. "You want to know the truth, little soldier? Fine. But don't think too badly of me later." I obliged and let him tell me.
"It started when we were children, ah, around our preteens. It was Christmas time, and we just got out of a gift shop." He said, still refusing to make eye contact.
"We went outside into the street. Then a stranger stopped us, telling us to look up. We were under the mistletoe."
I stayed quiet, and remembered that day. I had tried to forget it at the time, but now it had been re brought back.
"You looked at me, and instead of running like I thought you would, away from me, you kissed me anyways. That's when I knew that I had to repay you in the future. Do, I thought I'd save you. From...them." He said, and looked straight into my eyes.
I tried to reach out to his hand, but the cuffs restrained me. I struggled a little. Nothing happened. Then, Tord did something I didn't expect.
He took my hand and kissed it.
