When the frog's- I mean, Beauxbatons arrives
Nobody was really focusing on the lessons a few weeks later, as that was the day the other schools would arrive. When the last bell of the day went, everyone sped to their Common Rooms to dump their bags, put their cloaks on and ran back downstairs again where the Heads of the Houses had their students form lines. "Mister Weasley, put your hat on right. Miss Patil, take that ridiculous thing out of your hair." Professor McGonagall barked. Alfred was a bit taken aback by her strictness. "Follow me... First-years first... Don't push..." They walked down to the front of the castle and formed lines. It was a chilly, clear night, it was dusk and a pale, almost transparent moon shone through the clouds above the Forbidden Forest. Some of the first-years were literally trembling with excitement.
"Almost six." said Ron, who first checked his watch and then the sky. "How do you think they'd come here? By train?" "I don't think so." Hermione commented. "Then how? With brooms?" Harry suggested, looking at the starry sky. "Probably not... Too far..." "By Portkey, then?" Alfred added to the list. "Or they could Apparate... Maybe they're allowed to do that in their country..." Hermione sighed impatiently. "You can't Apparate onto the terrain of Hogwarts, Alfred. How many times do I have to say that?" Alfred rolled his eyes and continued to stare at the lake when he felt a girl poke his shoulder. "Yeah?" He glanced at her, and she looked at him with suspicion in his eyes. "You're from America, right?" The blonde nodded, not getting what she meant by that. "Oh, okay." She turned to her friends and they started whispering to each other, possibly gossiping. The boy shrugged it off and stared at the lake, seeing his twin check the sky.
"Ah! That would be Beaxbatons, if I'm not mistaken!" Dumbledore called out, immediately gaining Matthew's atrention. He heard a few people ask where, and he quickly scanned the sky. He spotted a... thing above the Forbidden Forest. "There!" He pointed at the thing, which was coming down to land. It looked like... "A dragon!" Matthew jumped a little. "Don't be stupid, it's a flying house!" He looked at the lines of Gryffindor, expecting his brother to say that. He was pleasantly surprised to find Alfred just staring at the giant thing. A few moments later, the carriage touched the ground with a loud THUD! He noticed the sign of Beauxbatons, and then the door opened. He immediately noticed the reson for the sizes of the horses and carriage.
A/N: So I decided I wouldn't type the whole part of Dumbledore greeting them. It's 05:11 AM here, I haven't slept all night, and I wanted to upload this.
