A welcoming feast

"I just can't believe it!" Ron exclaimed while the students of Hogwarts marched behind the group from Durmstrang. "Krum, Harry! Viktor Krum!"

"Geez, Ron, he's just a Quidditch player." Hermione huffed

"Just a Quidditch player?" Ron said, as if he couldn't believe his ears. "Hermione- Krum is one of the best Seekers in the world! I had no idea he was still in school!"

When they were on their way to the Great Hall with the other students, Alfred saw someone jumping up and down, trying to get a glimpse of the back of Krum's head. He sighed and shook his head as a sixth-year accidentally jabbed his elbow almost into his ribs in search for a quill.

"No way! I don't have even one quill with me!" "Do you think he'd sign my hat with lipstick?"

Alfred snickered at Hermione, who passed the girls who were talking about the lipstick with a half-glare at him. The blonde shrugged it off and sat down at the table of Gryffindor.

Ron sat across of the door, because Krum and his fellow students were awkwardly standing there. They aparently didn't really know where to sit. The pupils from Beauxbatons already took their seats on the table of Ravenclaw, and were glancing around in the Hall. Two or three still had their shawls and scarfs wrapped around their heads.

Hermione scoffed, annoyed. "It isn't thát cold. Why didn't they bring cloaks or something?"

Matthew was happily chatting away with Ernest when the teachers came in. The adorable Canadian immediately spotted Arthur, who had a slight scowl on his lips as he marched to his seat on the table and sat down, clearly not pleased when Madame Maxime took a seat.

"Good evening, ladies, gentlemen, ghosts and - in particular - guests." Dumbledore began, with a warm smile and twinkling eyes towards the foreign students. "With great pleasure, I welcome you all to Hogwarts. I hope, and expect, that your stay here will be pleasant and comfortable." A girl with her scarf still around her head, laughed in an unmistakeable mocking tone. Matthew's eyes immediately flashed towards Arthur and saw his eyebrows twitching a little. The Englishman was quite proud of this school, and didn't like it when someone insulted it.

Dumbledore however ignored the girl and continued. "The Tournament will be officially opened after the feast. I invite everyone to eat, drink and most importantly, feel at home!" He sat down and Karkarov immediately leaned in for a conversation. Arthur sighed and got some food - no French food, no, proper English food of course! - and listened to all the noises and talks in the Hall. He looked for Matthew in the crowd at the Hufflepuff table and gave a small smile as he saw the boy talking with his two good friends.
