Little British Bum

Chapter One | Little British Bum

So here I am. In the golden state of hopes and dreams coming to life. Watch the palms trees swift from side to side, passing the beach while reluctantly stopping the temptation of ditching school to relax in the cool, blue ocean. I pop open the trunk of the cab, as I finally reached my destination. Monster's University. Oops, wrong story, I mean Whittesbure University in California. I glaze upon the huge facade from the buildings appearing to look like it will overlap the space between the earth, and entire universe. It was like looking at a skyscraper! From where I lived, there weren't these huge, overwhelmingly clustered building, but instead, simple yet artistic types of architectures. And the buildings there had a fair amount of space that even a baby elephant could run in between the two buildings without struggling.

Finally, I drag both my suitcases and head towards the entrance of the main building. Struggling to hold the door while shoving both the suitcases in, I search for someone to help me.

My eyes are caught once they found a chestnut eyed, brown hair man with broad shoulders to help carry one of my luggage.

"Ahh, hey! You with the... umm... with the two black tattooed bands around the his right arm! Can you help me?"

As I stand there struggling, he shrugs off my request and walks off like nothing happened. There, next to him, was a green eyed fellow who gave me a look of sympathy and hesitantly walked towards me.

"Uhh, sorry about my friend." He groans as he pushes the door back while pulling one of my suitcases.

"It's fine. As long as someone helps me get this big ass suitcases out of this stupid door."

He releases a small laugh and shakes his head. "You know what, you are absolutely right. Why not just exchange these 'stupid doors' for automatic ones? College is already hard enough!"

As he is talking, I hear a hint of a thick British accent. Honestly, all I want to do was listen to him talk for hours.

"Exactly! Finally, someone who understands me!" I give out a wide smile. This may actually be a good day today. "By the way, I'm Allison. Allison Argent." I say, extending my hand for the both of us to shake.

"Hey Allison. I'm Daniel. You can call me Dani if you want."

Great! I just made a new friend!

"So, where are you heading?" I swear his voice is heavenly!

"Well, I need to go to the main office to get my room key. I'm guessing that my roommate is already up there."

"Cool. I'll help you with those suitcases."

     "Oh, no, it's okay. Really."

"You sure? Just letting you know that you're gonna have to take the stairs."

     "There's no elevators?"

"Out of order from all the weight of the people plus their luggages."

"Well then, thanks for offering! I'll just go to the office then we can get started."

〜.~°○△○°~.〜

We walk towards the main office, where only a few people were sitting on the empty seats surrounding the room. I approach the lady behind the front desk and ask for my room key.

"Okay, Miss Allison Argent. Here are your room keys. Your room will be found in the 7th floor of number 203. Your roommate is already up in the room. Her name is Lydia Martin."

I say my thank you's, grab one if my suitcase, and head up the stairs with Daniel behind me. We finally arrived at the seventh floor. The struggle of packing two suitcases filled with clothing plus the backpack filled with books hanging from my shoulders, made me give many adulations toward the person who invented the elevators, or the ground for all that matters.

Searching through all the numbers hanging on the door, we finally finds my room halfway through the aesthetically designed hallways. I insert my room key (it's more like those hotel key cards) and I instantly regret ever coming to this school.

Daniel and I stand there, with our mouths wide open, as I see my roommate making out with I'm assuming to be her boyfriend on her bed, without a top on. Daniel break off their intimate moment by clearing his throat. Lydia turns around and jumps off the bed, runs to grab her shirt laying on the floor, and quickly puts it on.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I didn't- he's just-"

"It's okay. I'm just gonna put my suitcases down then I'll grab something to eat. Uhh, do you want anything? By the way, I'm Allison." I extend my hand, but all she does is move it aside and hugs me for a split second.

"I'm Lydia. Again, I'd just like to apologize. To the both of you." She says as her eyes switched from me to Daniel.

"It's okay. We should've knocked first anyways." Daniel says with his British voice slowly revealing itself. Through that, Lydia's eye opened widely, as if she just saw a celebrity pass by.

"Yeah. Okay well, this is my boyfriend Jackson. He was just about to leave. Uhh, so we'll just get the food while you can start unpacking. What did you want?"

"Mind if you get me a Ceaser's Salad?"

"Sure." Now, Lydia and I exchanged positions, me standing in the middle of the room with Daniel, and her leaning against the door with Jackson behind her.

"Oh and p.s" she walks towards me and whispers while Daniel is on my side of the room, sitting on my bed. "I am in love with your boyfriend's little British bum."
