Everyone were running blindly and amazed in the Maze, except Jay, Cole, Nya, Seliel and some more old runners. They ran to one wall and stand behind it. Jay peeked a little and saw a Serpentine. He fast hid his head

"A Serpentine?"Nya, who was next to him, asked

"Yes. We will have to fight"Jay said and took out the thing he and the other three found, then gave it to Nya and Seliel

"Take it and ran to the door. You will be the fastest to reach it and we will have bigger chances"Jay said. Nya took it and nodded

"Okay guys, let's do this!"Cole yelled and with a far cry, he started running towards the Serpentine. Jay followed close behind, along with Nya, Seliel and everyone who could keep up with them. The others were trying their best to follow. The Serpentine saw them and hissed, then started charging at them. The Gladers started fighting it. Nya and Seliel were trying to get away to go to the door. Both of them had some spears and were fighting too. More Serpentine appeared. Suddenly, one of them kicked the thing out of Nya's hand and she saw it rolling towards an edge

"NO!"Nya yelled and ran after it. It rolled over the edge, but Nya jumped and took it, but now was hanging from the wall

"NYA!"she head a female voice to yelled and then started pulling her up. She turned to see Seliel

"Thanks Sel. Now, let's go to unlock the door"Nya said standing and Seliel nodded. The two started running towards the door. When they were in front of it, the thing's lap lit up in green and the door started opening. The two ran inside to some door. Nya pushed the door and a code appeared

"Jay! There is a code! Eight numbers!"Nya yelled trying to think what it can be

"Eight numbers...."Jay thought"Cole! How is the sequence of the Maze!"

"Ummm....seven...one...."Cole started still fighting a Serpentine. Nya typed everything she hers"five....two...six..."
suddenly, a big Serpentine jumped on top of him. He held his spear in it's mouth to hold him away. Suddenly, someone far cried and stopped the thing with his own spear. He saw it was Shade. The thing started eating him alive while he screamed

"Cole! The other numbers!"Seliel yelled

"Ummm...four, eight, three. You get it?"Cole yelled and Nya typed the numbers. Then, a big green sigh 'correct' appeared and the door opened. Everyone started running to the girls's direction. The three stone doors in front of them started closing. The Gladers were snuggled next to each other, while the following Serpentine were being squished under the stones. Just before one was going to reach them, Jay trow his spear at it and it backed away, then was squished too. Kai and Lloyd opened the door and everyone started walking out. They arrived in a big hall, with no one. There were some lights. Jay started walking to the right and everyone followed him. After a while, they arrived in front of a metal door, with a sight 'EXIT' on it. Everyone looked at each other

"Seriously?"Zane asked glancing at the sigh. Jay reached his hand out and opened the door, slowly. When they entered, they saw bodies everywhere, surrounded by their own blood. There were some beds with shoot bodies on them. The continued to walk until they reached a room full with computers. Everyone looked at them. They were showing the Glade

"So, they were really watching us. This whole time"Lloyd said. Jay walked to one computer and removed his backpack. He looked up to see Nya doing the same. She looked at him too. Jay looked down again and saw a red beeping button. He pressed it

"Hello"a female voice said and everyone turned towards the direction of it. There stood a woman, around her sixtys. She has blond hair tied into a bun

"My name is Doctor Ava Paige. I'm Director of Operations of the World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department. If you're watching this, that means you've successfully completed the Maze Trials. I wish I could be there in person to congratulate you... but circumstances seem to have prevented it"she said and behind her can be heard gunshots"I'm sure by now, you must all be very confused, angry, frightened. I can only assure you that everything that's happened to you, everything we've done to you, it was all done for a reason. You won't remember, but the sun has scorched our world"she said and a picture of the scorched world appeared"Billions of lives lost to fire, famine, suffering on a global scale. The fallout was unimaginable. Suddenly, Jay noticed her laying not very far from them, shattered glass surrounding her. Everyone looked towards the door and stayed in a silence for a while

"She said we are important..."Lloyd said breaking the silence"What are we gonna do now?"he asked and everyone looked at Jay

"Let's get out of here"Jay said, but before he can take a step outside, someone yelled

"Stop!"
