Nathan couldn't help but chuckle after every minutes passed. He was leaned relaxed on his bed. William walked out of the bathroom and frowned at him as he made his way to his bed. He sat on his bed and began to dry his hair with his towel but his eyes were fixed at Nathan who was simply chuckling on his own the moment they get back from college.
"Ask her out already," William said amusedly.
Suddenly, Nathan's face fell and lost in his own thought for a moment before letting out a deep sigh.
"Not now," He replied sadly. "I need to take care of my family mess first. I don't wanna drag her into my mess."
"You always say that," William said and shook his head. "You might not notice but let me tell you this—you're breaking her every day, Nathan." He told him.
"You love her and yet, you rejected her when she confessed to you. And I know Evelyn is trying her best not to ruin the friendship between the two of you but bro, she's human too. We all get tired at some point." William said in a serious tone.
Nathan stared blankly at space as he regarded William's words silently.
"I know you were too wounded from your previous relationship but Nat, Evelyn is different and you know it too."
Nathan silently listened to him.
"Tell her already that you feel the same about her and also, you can tell her about your first meeting ten years ago," William said with an amused smile playing on his lips. Nathan let out a soft chuckle and turned to look at him.
"I was on my way back home from your place that night. And that's when I saw her crying at the park all alone," Nathan reminisced and chuckled softly.
"And you knew she was the one next door coz you've been stalking her whenever she comes to visit her Grandma-" William amused.
"I didn't know that Evelyn would be her. If I had known back then, I wouldn't have-" Nathan stopped midway and sighed deeply, feeling a sense of regret washing over him.
"I want to tell her everything but I just couldn't find the right words to say," Nathan sighed.
"You're just being chicken to tell her, aren't you?" William teased making Nathan shot him a pointed look.
"By the way-" William trialled and looked at Nathan through his lashes. "Who was it from?" He asked.
Nathan understood what he was talking about and simply shook his head. "Just someone," he said in a shrug.
"Just date her already so that those proposals will stop coming too," William said under his hearty laugh.
"You're no less either," Nathan remarked and gave him a deadpanned look. "You receives more than me,"
"That's because I am easy to approach," William said in an amused tone. "But I hadn't received one from the one I like." He added to which Nathan snapped and looked at him with narrow eyes.
"You like someone and you didn't even tell me!" Nathan said in an accusation tone and gave him a upset glare.
"I was just kidding," William laughed. "And don't worry, when I find my princess, you'll be the first one to know." He added and winked at him.
"You better do that or I'll kick your ass," Nathan warned him admusedly as he stood up from his bed and made his way towaeds the bathroom for a shower.
William simply smiled amusedly looking at his back before fetching his phone from his side and tapping and scrolling over his screen. He smiled sadly as he stared at his phone screen.
"What good would it bring if I tell you about the girl I like?" He sighed and glanced towards the bathroom door. "She loves you so much that she won't even let another man escort her," He grimaced staring sadly at Evelyn's photo which was displayed over his screen. The photo was taken when she was at the Orphanage, wearing the red floral dress.
"But I'll always have a thing for you, Evelyn," William said with a quiet smile.

Evelyn rushed inside the hospital entrance and looked here and there with aimless thought. She was having her break when she received a call from the house butler-informing her about her Nana's admittance in the hospital.
"Excuse me," She said to the receptionist. "I'm here for Eugenie Summer," she addressed to which the receptionist gave her a nod.
"VIP cabin 2. First floor to the right hallway." the receptionist directed her politely and smiled lightly.
"Thank you," Evelyn said wisely before rushing towards the said direction.
Evelyn pushed open the VIP cabin 2 door and entered inside. She became more worried when she saw her Nana lying unconscious on the bed. In a flash, she came beside her Nana.
"What did the doctor say, Hop?" She asked glancing at the house butler who was standing on the other side of the bed.
"Madam is fine now, young miss." Hop answered courtly. "Thankfully, it was a mild stroke. She will be fine after she gets enough rest." he added.
Evelyn sighed in relief. She stayed with her Nana for some minutes before excusing herself to go to the bathroom. As she walked out of the cabin, her eyes immediately caught on someone and frowned over.
It was that woman who insulted her Aunt infront of all the boards and also the one soon going to be the step mother of Nathan. Evelyn stood silently on her position as she watched that woman busy talking to a female doctor as they made their way to the Gynecology section.
Evelyn returned back to the VIP cabin and soon was greeted by Caroline who came in while she was at the washroom.
"Eve, you skipped your geography class," Caroline said under her sigh.
"Don't tell me to go back. I want to stay with Nana," Evelyn said as she went and sat beside the bed.
"I'll stay with your Nana. Come again after your classes are over." Caroline told her but Evelyn quickly shook her head in reply and earned a pointed look from her Aunt.
"Alright, I'll go to class." Evelyn said under her sigh after a long pause. She agreed coz her Aunt was emotionally blackmailing her with looks.
Caroline smiled warmly at her while she rolled her eyes over as she reached for her backpack on the sofa and lazily walked out of the cabin.
As Evelyn strolled towards the entrance, she saw that woman again, standing by the reception, clinging onto the same guy from the mall. Evelyn couldn't help but rolled her eyes over and walked towards them.
"Oh, what a coincidence!" Evelyn said and quickly clicked their photo from her phone.
"Who are you? And why did you click our picture without our permission?" the woman demanded and glared at her.
"You two were looking so good together. I couldn't help but capture the both of you," Evelyn told them under her fake sweet laugh.
"I remember you," The guy said sceptically under his narrow eyes and pointed his fingers at her. "You were that girl from the mall—"
"Wait—who are you actually?" the woman asked under her frown and stared at Evelyn's uniforms which was quite familiar to her. And when she saw the college emblem on the blazer pocket, her eyes went wide for a moment before straightening up from her position.
"Let me correct you one thing here, girl —we are not couples. He is my cousin. He always accompany me wherever I go coz my fiancé is too busy with office works." the woman said in a sweet tone. The man glances at her for a moment before playing along.
"Oh, yes, Robert is always working." the guy said and pretended to grimace.
Evelyn kept scoffing inwardly at their stupid act.
"I guess I know what is actually going on," Evelyn said in a mocking tone.
"What do you mean?" the woman demanded.
"Nothing," Evelyn said under her twitched lips and immediately walked away from them.
"We have to do something about this girl, Floyd." the woman said glaring at Evelyn's back.
"Yes, we have to, Bell."

Evelyn was five minute late to her special class and the professor was already going on with the class. The boys gave her concern looks as she made her way to her seat.
"Boys, attention to the board please," the Professor said in an amused tone. The boys also amused and drew their attention back to the class.
Once the class was over and the professor left, Russell turned back and looked at Evelyn.
"You didn't come for geography class, is everything alright?" He asked in a concerned tone.
"Ah—that, I was with my Nana." Evelyn answered.
"How is she now?" Nathan asked to which Evelyn frowned at him. "Mary told be about the incident." he reasoned.
"Mary?"
"My house butler." Nathan said under his sigh.
"Oh—Nana is fine now." Evelyn told them and began to hurriedly put her books into her bag.
"You're going to her now?" Adrian asked to which Evelyn nodded in reply. "I'll come too." he said and hung his bag over his shoulder.
"Let's all go and visit Nana, she'll be very happy to see us," Stephen said in a cheerful tone. All of them smiled and agreed to him while Evelyn simply darted between them under her frown.
"C'mon sis, you are riding with me," Adrian said cockily as he rested his arm around her neck and gently led her towards the door. The others took their bags and followed them behind.
Once they made it to the hospital, they strolled towards VIP cabin 2. Evelyn rolled her eyes over and over again on her way to the cabin. The girls kept ogling at the boys as they walked by.
Evelyn pushed opened the door and immediately smiled widely when she saw her Nana in a conscious state and was leaned against the bed.
"Nana," she chirped and went to hug her.
"I'm so happy to see you, dear," Eugenie said warmly before pulling away and cupping both her cheeks and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. She then looked over Evelyn and noticed the boys.
"Oh—the Promiseland heartthrobs are here too," Eugenie said under her sly and amused smile. The boys chuckled amusedly while Evelyn snorted at them.
"Promiseland heartthrobs," she phrased under her soft laugh.
"Don't you agree to that?" Nathan said in a teasing tone and jerked an eyebrow at her. Evelyn stared at him under her creased brows, confused at his carefree behaviour.
"Ahem, Ahem —we are here too," Terrence fake clear his throat and teased innocently. Evelyn quickly looked away from Nathan and involuntarily blush a little.
Eugenie darted between Evelyn and Nathan for a moment and wonder if Nathan was the guy who rejected her dear granddaughter. William simply stood at one corner of the cabin and watched them.
They spent their evening staying with Eugenie until the doctor came and report her about her discharge. Eugenie was totally fine to leave for home. They escorted her to the car and bed their goodbyes.
"I'll come and visit you tomorrow, Nana," Evelyn told her and turned to look at Hop, "Please take care of Nana," She said softly under her smile.
" I will, young miss. See you tomorrow." Hop assured courtly before hitting on the gas and driving away from the place.
Evelyn waved at the back of the car and turned back to look at the boys only to see them whispering quietly among them. She frowned and crossed her arms over her chest and cleared her throat audibly making them to know her very existence.
"Let me drop you to the college, Evelyn." Nathan told as he made his way towards her. Evelyn looked at him for a moment before nodding at him. They all went to their cars and drive off. But when the others took different turn, Evelyn creased her brows and looked at Nathan.
"Where are they going?" She asked. Nathan didn't answer and simply drive. She let out a sigh and crossed her arms over her chest. "What were you guys talking about earlier?" she queried.
"Nothing," Nathan answered, his eyes fixed on the road. "We were just talking about random things," he added casually.
Evelyn was unconvinced but she didn't ask anymore. And moreover, if they don't wanna share to her then she just let them be. It's none of her business.
"Whatever," Evelyn told under her sigh and leaned against the seat.
