After treating the kids with the dinner and sharing some talks, she succeeded in making them understand each other and not to bully one another. The four kids sincerely apologised to Easton and fortunately, they got along.
"Evelyn, thank you so much for saving us and for treating us," Max said genuinely.
Evelyn smiled at them and exchanged goodbyes with the kids. She then turned on her heels and walked to the other side of the road. But then she stopped midway when she heard someone calling her from behind. She turned back and saw Easton standing some steps away from her.
"What happened, Easton?" She asked.
"Where are you going?" Instead of answering her, Easton asked her and strolled towards her.
"Just wandering off," Evelyn answered in a shrug.
"Can I join you? I don't wanna go home now." Easton said quietly.
"Why? Did you fight with your parents?" Evelyn asked casually and began to walk leisurely and Easton mirrored her.
"No, but my brother did. Dad came back home after a month from a business trip and my brother visited home too and they happened to encounter each other and got in some bad arguments." Easton grimaced and sighed heavily.
"And you hate to see them fighting," Evelyn pondered to which Easton nodded at him. "Then tell them how you feel whenever you see them fighting. You can try to make things to understand between them." She suggested.
"It's not that easy. My brother blames my dad for our mother's death. I am with my brother though. If he didn't-" Easton stopped midway when his phone started ringing up form his pocket. He fetched it from his pocket and grimaced immediately when he saw the 'Brother' name on his phone screen.
"Brother," Easton answered carefully over the phone.
"Maddy told me that you are not home yet, where are you now?" His brother said in a serious tone.
"I'm at-" Easton trialled off and looked around. "-in front of the Della Convenience Store," He said.
"Stay there, I'm coming to pick you up." His brother said and hung up the call.
"My brother is coming to pick me up." Easton sighed and looked at Evelyn as he put his phone inside his pocket.
"Your brother seems protective," Evelyn said and smile brightly thinking about her brothers back at home and suddenly started to miss them. They have always been very overprotective over her but she was one careless little sister and always makes her brothers worry.
"He is and he loves us so much," Easton smiled.
"Us!" Evelyn exclaimed.
"Me and my younger sister," Easton said in a nod. Evelyn made an O shape with her mouth and nodded at him. "By the way, may I know which college do you study, Evelyn?" He asked politely.
"Outrival, "Evelyn answered making his eyes go wide in consideration.
"My brother goes there too, he is-" Easton said and trialled off when he noticed his brother cars approaching towards them. "-already here," He turnover his words and said, looking over her back. Evelyn frowned and turn back to look only to see the familiar black Mercedes park beside the street. Her frown deepened when she saw Nathan coming out of his car.
Nathan's eyes went wide in surprised when he saw Evelyn with his brother. But then frowned immediately when she snapped away from him.
"You're Nathan's brother?" Evelyn stated in surprised rather than asking.
"Yes, you know my brother?" Easton asked cheerfully.
"May I know what's going on here?" Nathan asked as he came beside them. Evelyn ignored him and glanced at her back to see no sign of Carla.
"Nothing, I just happened to meet your brother accidentally and we started talking," Evelyn said casually and spare a glance at him. "Alright, Easton, now that your brother is here, I'll get going too," She said and took a step forward but was stopped midway when a hand came a grabbed on her arm.
"Let me drop you," Nathan said softly.
"Thank you but I have someplace to go," Evelyn said and force a smile.
"East, get in the car and wait for me," Nathan told his brother. Easton darted between them before nodding and going towards the car. Nathan turned her by her arm and face her towards him. "Look, Evelyn, whatever you saw in the coffee shop earlier, it is not what you are thinking," He said quietly. "I was-"
"You don't need to explain it to me. You can do whatever you want." Evelyn interrupted softly. "I like you so much and yes, it hurts me seeing you with another girl but that's my problem. You don't have to be concern about it, after all, you just see me as one of your friends." She said.
Nathan slowly withdrew his hand from his arm and looked down at the ground. She was right. He has rejected her because he sees her as one of his close friends but then why is he feeling guilty inside him the moment he saw her at the coffee shop. He let out a frustrated sigh and rested his hands on his hips.
"But why do I feel sorry for you?" Nathan asked under his huffed and looked down at her. "I've been like this from the moment I saw you at the coffee shop."
"I told you, you don't need to be concern about me," Evelyn said, nearly yelling at him and crossed her arms over her chest.
"But I do," Nathan shouted at her, making her looked at him with wide eyes opened. "I just do," He lowered his tone. They stared at each other for a moment longer before Nathan looked away and huffed.
"Nevermind, I'm sorry for shouting at you." He said, not looking at her before walking away without saying any goodbye words.
Evelyn simply stood there and watched him as he got inside his car and drove away.
"I know why you are feeling this way, Nathan." She said softly staring at the distance back of his car. "You are starting to see me not just as a friend but more than that. I guess you are starting to have feelings for me." She whispered under her small smile before looking away from the street and turning on her heels.

Nathan stopped his car in front of his house and tightened his grip on his steering wheel knowing that his father was already home.
"I hope you stopped arguing with dad. I don't feel good when you and dad always go on fighting. Lucy feels the worse and always cry to her sleep whenever you and dad fights." Easton said quietly, staring down at his lap. Nathan let out a sigh before reaching for his brother's head and gently patted over his head.
"I'm sorry about that. I just can't help it but get angry whenever Dad brings his mistress home." Nathan said under his clenched jaw and glared at the house.
"None of us like that woman and I'm never gonna accept her as our stepmother. Forget about being stepmother, I will never let dad marry that woman." Easton said in a bad-tempered. Nathan chuckled softly at his brother before straightening up and removing his seat belt.
"Don't worry about that. Your brother will take care of it." Nathan said softly before getting out of the car. Easton mirrored him. They got inside the house and was soon greeted by Maddy, their head housemaid and a family Nanny.
"Easton, I was worried about you," Maddy said in a high tone and gave him a fake glare.
"I'm sorry, Maddy. I'll never do that again." Easton said apologetically.
"Alright, I forgive you. Now, go and get fresh, I'll set the dinner for both of you." Maddy said.
"I already had my dinner," Easton said cheerfully.
"Where?"
"Evelyn treated me to dinner," He said wolfishly, looking at his brother.
"Alright, then go get fresh and do some studies or go to sleep," Nathan said to which Easton nodded at him and ran towards the stairs.
"Evelyn? The name seems familiar," Maddy asked in concern.
"She's Eugenie's granddaughter," Nathan answered briskly and walked inside the house.
"Oh yes! Eugenie was talking about her granddaughter the other day," Maddy chirped excitedly, under her clapped hand and came beside him. "Did you guys come here together?" she asked.
"No, she had someplace to go," Nathan said under his sigh. "And yes, she doesn't know that we are neighbours," he added quickly before Maddy could ask about it. "And I don't plan on telling her either."
"But why? You have always wanted to meet her when you were kid," Maddy said amusedly.
"I beg you to differ. It was because I lent my Rubik cube's to her and I badly wanted it back. But I didn't get to meet her again back then." Nathan said irritably and rolled his eyes over. Then he quickly ran upstairs before Maddy could ask him any more questions. Maddy looked at his back amusedly and shook her head before going towards the kitchen.
Nathan entered inside Lucy's room and saw her sleeping on the bed with her back facing him. He stood silently beside her bed and looked down at her for a moment until he heard soft sniffling noise coming from her. He sighed softly before sitting down on the bed beside.
"Lu?" He said softly and gently brush his hair over her brown hair. Lucy made a turn and her eyes went wide for a moment before quickly straightening up and hugging her brother tightly. He hugged her back and shifted her over his lap.
"Nathan, did you come for a sleepover?" She asked softly under her sniffle.
"I have to go back, I got my morning classes." He said and gently ran his hand over her hair. "Now tell me, why are you crying?" He asked and slowly pulled her away so that they can be face to face.
"You and daddy fought again," Lucy said in a cracking voice and sniffled.
"I'm sorry, Lu. I will not fight with dad again." Natha said which was completely a white lie and gently wiped her tears away. "Let's do this, my friends and I are going to the Abyss for the weekend, I'll take you and Easton too for the weekend." He said to which Lucy's face brightened up and she cheered happily.
"Will Evelyn be there too?" Nathan and Lucy turned their heads towards the door and saw Easton strolling inside.
"Yes, she'll be there too," Nathan answered making Easton smiled widely as he sat on the edge of the bed.
"Evelyn! I know her. I met her at the park some weeks ago." Lucy said under her squeal.
"Lu, she can be another Evelyn, you know-"
"No, Nathan, she was wearing the same uniform as your college that day," Lucy interrupted and justified.
"Alright, then she may be my Evelyn you saw," Nathan blurted out.
"Your Evelyn?" Easton raised an eyebrow at him.
"I mean my friend Evelyn," Nathan rolled his eyes over. "Alright, now go to sleep, Lu. It's quite late for a six-year-old kid to be awake around this time." He said giving a fake pointed look at his little sister.

By the time Nathan returned back to college, it was nearly curfew time. He entered his room and saw William busy cleaning his precious violin.
"I thought you won't be back tonight," William said, glancing at him. "Is everything alright? You suddenly disappeared and didn't attend the second half classes." He said calmly and placed his violin inside its box and closed it.
"I'm fine," Nathan shrugged off. William stood up from his place and strolled towards Nathan. He turned him around by his shoulder and punched him on his face.
"What was that for?" Nathan asked wide eyes opened under his groaned and massage his jaw gently.
"This is for ignoring my dozens of calls and text messages," William said, glaring at him as he massaged his knuckles. "Do you even consider me as your best friend?" He said bitterly.
"Sorry about that," Nathan said quietly, gently rubbing the blood from his corner lips with his backhand. "My dad came back today from his business trip," He told him and William understood him. He grimaced before giving him a sympathetic look.
Nathan gave him a small smile before getting inside the bathroom. He stripped off his clothes and came beneath the cool shower. He closed his eyes as the cool water touch his skin making his mind calm down. But then the thought of Evelyn made him shut opened his eyes and sighed in exasperation. He was already feeling guilty over her and now he felt more guilty for shouting at her earlier.
After some minutes, Nathan walked out from the bathroom and directly went to fetched his phone from the table and blankly stared at his phone screen. He was having a battle inside him whether to call Evelyn and make it up to her. He sighed continuously after every second staring at his phone.
"You okay there?" William asked in concern. Nathan spared a glanced at hin and raked his hair in frustration.
"I got angry and shouted at Evelyn today,"
