26.

Evelyn sat relaxed on her seat and threw a glanced around the classroom before drifting her gaze to the window beside her and stared outside. They had a free lecturer now. Some students stayed inside the classroom and studied for the upcoming evaluation while some were loitering around the campus. And thankfully, those drama queens were out too, leaving her and Eleanor to be the only girls present inside the class at the moment.

Evelyn glanced towards Eleanor and saw her smiling stupidly at Mark who was focused on teaching her a maths solution. She chuckled softly at them before drifting her attention to the door and saw Carla walking in with Nathan. She frowned visibly and rolled her eyes over, looking away from them.

Nathan noticed her mood and shook his head before going towards her.

"Today is the day to take the frames, are you coming?" Russell asked looking at Evelyn.

"What frames?" Nathan asked and sat on the seat in front of Evelyn.

"Photo frames," Russell answered. "Evelyn and I decided to gift the kids with photo frames." He said in a smile.

"So you both planned on visiting the Orphanage without us," Terrence said and narrowed his eyes at both of them.

"We were planning to tell you all after receiving the frames," Evelyn defended.

"Yeah, we thought of going to the Orphanage this weekend- all of us and spend there at the Abyss," Russell informed amusedly.

"Ah yes! With that said," Evelyn exclaimed and flicked her fingers, "I was about to ask you if it's okay to bring my friends along for the weekend." Evelyn said and looked at Nathan expectantly.

"It's totally fine," Nathan agreed and shrugged off.

"Thank you," Evelyn said and lovingly smiled at him, making all of their friends looked at them with amused and knowing smiles. Nathan awkwardly cleared his throat and raked his hand over his hair.

"You two should start dating," Eleanor stated amusedly looking at both of them.

"I know right, Eleanor. I have already-"

Evelyn was interrupted when Nathan kicked on her seat's leg and gave her a pointed look. Evelyn pouted at him and returned back the pointed look while their friends looked at them in complete amusement.

Carla sat silently on her seat and overheard their conversations. She let out a sad sigh before standing up from her seat and leaving the classroom for the second time. After some seconds, Carson came running inside and his eyes directly landed on Nathan.

"Cap!" Carson shouted making everyone turned to look at him. "The Senior football team are causing trouble," He said looking at Nathan. Immediately, the boys stood up from their place and quickly made their way out of the class. Evelyn and Eleanor looked at each other with complete confusion.

"What exactly happened just now?" Eleanor asked with creased eyebrows.

"The Senior and Junior football team don't get along," Pascal said uninterestedly as he kept busy solving down some problems on his book.

"C'mon, Eleanor, let's go and check on them," Evelyn said to which Eleanor nodded immediately and stood up from their place.

By the time they reached the college stadium, the fight was already over. Both the coaches were standing like a barrier between the two teams who were busy glaring into each other. Most of them got their lips busted and bruises on their faces. Evelyn and Eleanor glanced at each other and went closer towards them.

"After class, I want you all in the field, got it," One of the coaches, who was not Trevor, shouted angrily at the Senior team. "If any of you lack to be present, you'll be cut out of the team, got it,"

"Yes, Coach,"

"Now, get back to class,"

The Senior team gave glaring glances towards the Juniors as they dispersed from the place. Some of the Seniors eyed at Evelyn and Eleanor as they walked past by them. Both the girls simply threw them bitter looks before ignoring them and walking towards their batch boys.

"Trevor, take care of your boys and I'll take care of mine," The Senior's Coach said curtly before leaving the place.

"Twenty laps each of you," Trevor said unsmilingly and glared at each of them.

"Coach, even us!" Stephen exclaimed and pointed his finger at himself. "But we're not even in the team," He said quietly giving Trevor his most innocent and puppy look. Trevor was unaffected by his adorable look and gave him a pointed look while the other stifled a laugh at him.

"Coach, we don't do practices, twenty laps is too much for us. I wonder if I will be able to do even five laps," Russell said sheepishly and scratched the back of his head. Evelyn and Eleanor chuckled softly behind their hands while the boys let out throaty laughs. This is not every day where you get to see Russell being off from his books and going all cute. Especially when he is in college, you'll find him always glued to the books.

"You two, do you guys have anything to say?" Trevor said eying at Terrence and Mark who were also not in the team.

"Twenty laps is too much for us," Mark said with a cheeky grin. Trevor regarded him for a moment before turning his gaze to his side and took noticed of his dear niece.

"Don't tell me you are here to let out your frustration again," Trevor said out loud in amuse. The boys turned towards their sides and saw them standing some distance away from them. "You are most welcome to join the boys then, dear niece," He teased.

Evelyn rolled her eyes over before making her way towards them along with Eleanor walking closely beside her.

"Don't be a sadistic, Uncle. Can't you see they're all hurt and here you are insisting on giving them punishment," Evelyn said and gave her uncle a bitter look. The boys stifled a laugh and amusedly looked at Evelyn.

"I'm punishing them for disrespecting their senior and getting into fights with them," Trevor stated and glanced at the boys.

"C'mon, Uncle, you are a coach. You, of all people, should know better about how the gameplay is." Evelyn drawled in a duh tone before shaking her head in disapproving. Trevor let out a deep sigh and regarded his dear niece for a moment before drifting his attention to the boys.

"The next time they get to your nerves, control your anger and keep your fists to yourself, understood!" Trevor said firmly.

"Yes, Coach!" The boys shouted in unison.

"But Coach!" Kevin raised his hand like a five-year-old kid, trying to grab his Coach attention, "What if the Seniors use their fists first like they did today, what shall we do?" He asked cockily.

"Knowing that you guys won't hold back, all I can say is, just don't get major injuries while you are at it," Trevor said under his sigh and rubbed his forehead.

"Don't worry, Coach, I'll take care of the team," Nathan said firmly in a most respective tone. Evelyn melted at the sight of him and stared tenderly at him with a warm smile.

"Yeah, you do that. They always listen to you very well than they do to me." Trevor said amusedly before throwing fake glared at the boys who simply threw him with their cheeky smiles.

"Make sure that you all get tended from Ms Lana," Trevor said as he prodded his pointed finger towards them. "You all are dismissed," He sighed before leaving the field with his both hands resting on his hips.

Soon Trevor walked past by the girls, Eleanor quickly ran towards Mark and worriedly scanned at his bruised face. Mark smiled at him and mumble, 'I'm fine' before embracing her tightly into his arms in front of everyone. Evelyn amusedly smiled looking at them while the boys amusedly shook their heads at their PDA.

"Get a room," Carson rolled his eyes over but yet, smiled warmly looking at them. Evelyn blinked twice and lost in her own thought. Since the day she joined the college, she has never seen the boys going all daring and challenging upon each other except for the misunderstanding that happened in the clubhouse between Brian and Carson. Apart from that, the boys were quite friendly with each other. Even though she doesn't always see them talking at all time but when they do, they seem to be all buddy-buddy which was quite surprising for her. And also the boys share good bonding between sections, unlike the girls who will go berserk every time they see each other.

"You okay there?" Brian's voice dragged her out from her reverie and she immediately scowled looking at his face.

"Your face is beautifully painted," Evelyn said sarcastically taking his jaw between her fingers and moving it side to side to see the clear look of his bruised face. He was the one who earned the most beatings. Brian winced and groaned in pain as Evelyn carelessly moved his jaw side to side.

"Ah- you're so rough," He said under his pout but he only earned a glare from her.

"Why do you always get most of the beatings whenever you fight?" Evelyn said bitterly and slapped on his arm making him groaned and glared at her. Evelyn ignored his glare and looked over his side to see Adrian busy massaging his bruised knuckles, wincing slightly in the process.

"What are you guys still doing here? Go and tend your wounds before it gets worse and leave scars," Evelyn drawled lazily, glancing at the whole football team.

"Thanks for saving us from being punished, Evelyn," Kendrick said sincerely and waved at her as he walked past by her towards the entrance on the stadium. Some of the boys smiled at her before following behind Kendrick.

"Would you mind tending me?" Carson jested and rested his arm around Evelyn's shoulder. Pairs of eyes glared at him who was unaware of it.

"Do you want to end up with more bruises?" Evelyn said cheekily but her tone held a warning bell. Carson playfully removed his arm from her and raised both his hands in surrender.

"Flirt with anyone but not my best friend, dude. You'll never know when she'll come haunting for your life." Brian jested and shared a laugh with Carson. Evelyn glared at both of them before walking away.

Evelyn reached for Adrian's right hand and scanned on his painted knuckles. "I see you did most of the beatings," She jested looking up at him.

"Am I not great?" Adrian said proudly under his amused chuckle. Evelyn rolled her eyes over and swat her hand in the air.

"Let's get going, we've got Prof. Wang class in ten minutes," Russell informed making his way towards the entrance with the rest of them following behind.

As Evelyn turned to make a move towards the entrance, she saw Nathan saying something at William before running towards the open area, instead of heading towards the entrance of the stadium. Leisurely keeping her eyes on Nathan's back, she reached for William and stood in front of him.

"What did he say?" Evelyn asked to which William looked at her amusedly. Not a second later, Eleanor appeared beside her and tugged her arms in hers with a sly smile playing on her lips. Evelyn gave her a weird look before turning her attention back to William.

"He said he'll come later after some laps," William answered. "C'mon, let's go or you can stay here with him," He added amusedly before he slowly began to walk away from them.

Evelyn chuckled at William back and shook her head. It was obvious that all of her friends know the fact that she likes Nathan and moreover, she has been very openly showing her affection towards him which she doesn't regret at all. Let everyone knows and she won't care at all. All she cares is to make him open up his true feelings towards her. She will do what her heart says, and her heart says to win him over, to not give up on him so easily without even trying.

"You know what," Eleanor spoke up making her attention towards her. "I guess Nathan is jealous." She said and Evelyn frowned slightly. "I've seen him. He was looking at you the whole time when you were sharing talks with Brian, then with Adrian." She informed in a teasing tone.

"He got that jealousy eyes where boyfriend feels for his girlfriend when another guy talk to her," Eleanor said and playfully wiggled her eyebrows. Evelyn regarded her words and smiled dreamily before drifting her eyes towards Nathan who was now running on the track.

"Eleanor, you go ahead. I'll come with him," Evelyn said and glanced at her.

"That's my girl, go ahead and make him fall for you-" Eleanor chirped and trialled off, "But I guess he has already fallen for you," She said in thought with her arms crossed her chest and tilted head.

"Maybe he is confused and maybe I need to give him a little push," Evelyn said boldly with an amused smile as she slowly walked backwards. Eleanor animately showed her two thumbs up and waved at her before turning and scurrying towards the entrance where Mark was waiting for her already.

Evelyn also did a turn and jogged towards Nathan.
