Nathan stopped at his track once again and blankly stared ahead of him.
"Just forget that I asked," Evelyn said quickly. She presumed by his action that he is still in love with Carla. She was hurt but she didn't let it show. "Put me down, I can walk by myself," she said quietly. And when Nathan didn't attempt to put her down, she let out an annoying sigh and shuffled in her position and came to her feet by herself.
Nathan turned and looked down at her with a deadpanned expression. Evelyn glanced up at him for a moment and gave him a small smile. "Thank you for the piggy ride," She said before walking past by him.
"Grumpy," Nathan softly called out to her and turned back but Evelyn pretended not to hear him and simply continued to walk ahead. He sighed deeply before following her behind. He reached for her hand and turned her around to face him.
"Are you mad?" He asked softly looking down at her.
"Why would I be mad at you?" Evelyn shrugged off casually and laugh dryly.
"I don't like her anymore. We are just friends now." He said honestly.
"Oh- I see," Evelyn said under her sigh. "Do you like someone?" She asked curiously. Nathan stared at her for a moment longer before turning his gaze away from her.
"No," He answered, not meeting eyes with her.
"Good," Evelyn said under her smile.
Nathan narrowed his eyes at her and was about to speak but the vibration buzzing from his uniform pant stopped him from speaking. He fetched his phone from his pocket and read Carla's name on his phone screen. Evelyn saw that too and let out an annoying sigh before rolling her eyes over. Nathan shook his head at her before receiving the call.
"Hello," Nathan said over the call while Evelyn stared at him with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Hey, Nathan, are you busy now?"
"Not really, what happened?"
"Thought of going for a drink, wanna tag along?" Carla offered. Evelyn heard it and scoffed out loud before turning and walking away from him. "Are you with someone else now?" Carla asked with curiosity latched in her voice.
"Yes, I am," Nathan said honestly. "I'm sorry, Carla. I guess I'll pass."
"No problem, I'll try asking others, bye-bye," Carla said casually and hung up the call.
Nathan sighed deeply as he put his phone inside his pocket and looked ahead only to see Evelyn in a distance, seated by the side bench and massaging her legs. He chuckled softly before making his way towards her. He stood beside the bench and amusedly looked down at her.
"What?" Evelyn asked looking up at him.
Nathan simply shrugged off and bent down in front of her with his back facing her.
"I can walk by myself," Evelyn deadpanned.
"Just stop being stubborn and hop on, will you?" Nathan said over his shoulder.
"Alright, if you insist," Evelyn mumbled amusedly under her mouth before hoping upon his back again. "I see you have a date later," She said as Nathan straightened up in his position and began to walk.
"No, I don't date," Nathan deadpanned.
"That's sad," Evelyn said quietly before stifling a laugh.
After some minutes, they came in front of the common hall building. Nathan gently hauled up Evelyn over his back, adjusting her position properly before making his way inside the building.
"You know it's not too late to put me down, people will stare at us once we get inside and make their own pretty assumption about us," Evelyn said in an amused tone. "Not that I would mind," She added.
Nathan stopped on his track when he saw his friends making their way towards them with a curious and amused look.
"You two look lovely," Terrence commented amusedly looking at them.
"Where are you four heading to?" Nathan asked as he gently put Evelyn to her feet.
"To the pub," Jeffrey answered in a shrug. "I called you to ask you if you wanna tag along with us," He said giving her a concerned look.
"Really! Sorry about that, I don't have my phone with me right now." She said.
"How are you doing now?" Kevin asked quietly.
"I'm alright," Evelyn answered briskly. "It's not like I'll waste my whole week going sulky over that Witch," She muttered under her breath and rolled her eyes over. "Have a great evening, guys." She said and waved at them as she walked past by them.
The boys turned and stared at her back in concern plus amused look.
"Where did you find her?" Terrence asked throwing a glance at Nathan.
"College stadium," Nathan answered under his sigh. "See you guys later," He said briskly and nodded at them before making his way inside the building.

Evelyn entered her room and was immediately welcomed by her one and only roommate who was already looking at her intently with concern look. She frowned at her as she closed the door behind her.
"Eve, I was worried about you," Aaleyah said in a worried tone. "Eleanor came looking for you and brought your things and she told me what happened today," She added softly.
"I'm okay now," Evelyn said lazily as she made her way towards the closet. "I felt the need to take out my frustration and got away from everyone. But I'm better now after running laps," She added and groaned in satisfaction as she started to stretch her body. Aaleyah sighed softly before going to her table and sitting on the chair.
"Eve, don't forget, I am always here to listen to you- Cornelia and Emilia too," Aaleyah said softly before turning away from her and drifting her attention to the books in front of her.
"I know," Evelyn said quietly and glanced at Aaleyah. "I see you are really studying hard these days," She amused before pulling her clothes from the closet.
"I have to, we are having our first evaluation in two weeks," Aaleyah whined lazily. "If I don't score up to my parent's expectation, they will be very disappointed in me and I seriously don't want to disappoint them," She added quietly.
"Live up to your own expectation. If you keep clinging onto someone's expectation, your life will not be yours." Evelyn stated briskly as she made her way inside the bathroom and shut the door closed. Aaleyah stared at the door and regarded her words for a moment before drifting her eyes back to her books and blankly stared at it.
"Wish it was as easy as it is said," Aaleyah sighed sadly before putting her concentration on her studies.
After some minutes, Evelyn walked out of the bathroom all fresh and clean. She put the towel upon her damped hair and rubbed it roughly and made her way to her bed. She gradually stopped drying her hair and frowned when she noticed Aaleyah being so stressed glaring down at her books.
"You okay there?" Evelyn asked, removing her towel from her head.
"I hate mathematics, I can't understand even a little bit. It's like I'm learning an alien language." Aaleyah whined angrily and slammed her pen down over her table. Evelyn chuckled softly before coming beside her table and looked down at the books.
"Do you want me to make you an expert in mathematics?" Evelyn asked amusedly.
"Can you do that?" Aaleyah looked up at her with puppy eyes.
"I can do that but it will come with a cost," Evelyn said cheekily. Aaleyah narrowed her eyes at her and fake pouted. "Are you game?" Evelyn asked and jerked an eyebrow at her.
"Game on," Aaleyah said with her chin held high.
"Alright, you have to sacrifice your fairy tale and wake up early in the morning," Evelyn said under her laugh.
"What! No!" Aaleyah shrieked and pouted seriously at her. "Anything but not my sleep, please." She begged and made a face.
"That will be my cost," Evelyn ignored her and plonked on her bed. Aaleyah gave a long thought about it before sighing in defeat.
"Alright, but what will I do waking up early?" Aaleyah rolled her eyes over.
"Well, you can make use of your time in studies since you are so stressing about it too much," Evelyn said in a matter of fact tone.
"Oh yes, you're right," Aaleyah chirped and clapped her hands together. Evelyn stifled a laugh at her before going towards her.
"Okay, now, let's get started with the problems you are facing," Evelyn said under her sighed and bent over, scanning at the problems on the books.

Evelyn stepped on the roof of the common hall building and stretched her arms wide open, letting out a satisfied groan in the process. She spent her good two hours with Aaleyah in solving and teaching the problems. Cornelia came inside their room a few minutes ago and called out for street food. Aaleyah agreed while she politely rejected and decided to stay back. Her three dear girlfriends were out now and she was in the roof at the moment to take some fresh air and free her mind.
Evelyn walked towards the parapet and stood beside it. She calmly smiled as she let the cool breeze feel on her face and gaze down at the beautiful night view of the college campus. This was her first time visiting the common building roof.
"This is beautiful and refreshing," She said, feeling peaceful inside her.
"Is this your first time here?" Evelyn creased her brows at the familiar voice and turned to her left only to see Mark making his way towards her. She didn't see him earlier. He must have been on the other side of the roof.
"Yes, it is," Evelyn answered and offered him a smile.
"How are you feeling now?" Mark asked softly, standing a step away from her.
"Did I worry you guys so much?" Evelyn jested and laughed softly before turning to look down at the surrounding.
"I guess, yeah. You are part of us now." Mark said with a sincere smile before curving and resting both his forearms over the three and a half feet tall parapet.
"I'm totally fine," Evelyn said and they both fell silent for a moment, calmly gazing at the surrounding below. Evelyn's notification tone buzz off making both of them looked at her hoodie pocket. She fetched out her phone and let out a chuckled staring at her phone screen. Eleanor has texted her.
Eleanor: Text me back when you see this, Evelyn. I need to know if you're okay.
"Your fiance is such a lovely lady," Evelyn said warmly glancing at him.
"Yes, she is," Mark agreed before his expression turn with a mixture of sad and remorse, "That's why she deserves better," He said quietly under his breath. Evelyn looked at him and scoffed softly.
"Don't be dramatic," Evelyn said under her chuckled. "If you think that she deserves better then be that better she deserves." She added casually.
"Lucky are those who get the love back from the person they love and you are one of them," Evelyn said with a sad smile. "You should hold onto her instead of pushing her away and regret for the rest of your life." She added and rolled her eyes over.
"I love her," Mark admitted sincerely. "But it is just that I don't want to make our relationship bond with the family business matter. We were engaged since our childhood. And since then, Eleanor's parents have been helping my parents in raising up in the business world. It's like they sold me for their business benefits and I hate it for it." He told her about how he felt for years.
"I have been very rude to Eleanor and hated her at first. And the more I try to push her away, the more she tries to get closer to me." Mark said under his sigh.
"That's my girl," Evelyn chuckled softly making Mark shook his head at her.
"Well, that was in the past. Now, I don't even know what I wanted." Mark said quietly.
"Stop being a damsel in distress and get your shit together." Evelyn scowled. "It's obvious that you love her and you want her." She drawled.
"I know you both have been bonded because of the business benefits but if you think wisely, does it matter now? Eventually, you both fell for each other which is a blessing, coz, you know, most business engagement only leads to sacrificing their love for their parents will." Evelyn told and sighed deeply looking up at the night sky.
"Not that they don't have choices, they do have but most people chose to be at their parent's will because parents bring up unimaginable threats to them," Evelyn said bitterly.
"Being a child of the rich is not as easy as ordinary people think of us," Mark said quietly.
"Well, it depends on the family of how they treat their children and how they bring up their children," Evelyn said bitterly and looked down at Genesis and Sharon who were seated on the side bench. "Some rich kids get too spoiled and immature as well," She added under her mocking chuckle. She then turned her gaze on her phone screen and smile amusingly.
"I think I better go now, Eleanor will be here at any moment," Evelyn said cheekily and showed her phone screen at him. She has texted Eleanor while they were talking and let her know his whereabouts.
"Don't be an asshole," Evelyn told giving him a fake warning look before walking away from him. Mark let out a sigh and amusedly stared at her back until she got inside and disappeared from his sight.
