The Past

(Jacks P.O.V.)

I went back too the north pole hoping that North, wasn't gonna ask me more about Alex. I had  entered the place when I noticed them all talking in hushed voices by the chimney.

"I know she's a teenager, but if she saw all of us then why didn't she see Sandy?", I heard Tooth whisper. I snuck closer going to the ceiling to hide.

"I don't know, but maybe we should keep an eye on her. Just I case.", North replied.

"And, what about her panic attack? Sandy says he felt a presence in her. And not a good one.", Bunny added. I couldn't take it. I got out of hiding place, and landed as loudly as possible to get their attention. I crossed my arms in front of my chest, and looked at them all. They only turned, looked at me, and just looked at North to see what he'll say.

"Jack! When did you get back?", North asked me.

"Oh. Not long ago. Just when you guys were talking about stalking my friend.", I retorted back. Tooth, Sandy, and Bunny all looked at the ground. North sighed. I really care about North. He was the first guardian to be my friend. And, In a lot of ways he felt like a father, but he was really considering having someone or thing watch Alex.

"Jack. I know you're upset, but you must understand that as guardians it is our job to protect all the children in the world. So, if one of them is acting off it is our job to make sure we help her. To the best of our ability.", North explained. I let my arms go to my pockets. It's really hard to stay mad at North. Especially because of his accent it makes hard to be mad if it's, so thick and funny.

"It's fine, but what exactly is it that makes you worry, so much.", I asked. Bunny stopped looking at the ground, and stood forward a little.

"Sandy said that when she was in her panic attack that he could sense a dark presence. And, he also noticed that she was very tired in a way. Like she hasn't slept a day in her life.", he explained. I looked down at the floor. I remember Jaime telling me about her nightmares, but I didn't think that she was that bad. I scratched the back of my neck.

"Well maybe we can just ask her about that stuff you know?", I offered. Then Tooth suddenly grabbed my wrist, and showed my arm with Alex's number on it.

"And, who's number is on your arm?", she smirked up at me. I felt my face burning red. I forgot that I wrote her number when I was walking away. I pulled my wrist back, and pulled down the sleeve to hide the writing.

"No Ones!", I panicky replied. I felt an arm wrap around my shoulders, and hug me.

"I taught him well! He already has a girls number!", North yelled. I blushed even darker. Why are these people my only friends. I felt a small elf tug at my leg. I looked down to see him trying to give me my phone. I took it from him, and freed myself from Norths grasps. When I was walking off to text Alex I could feel them looking at me. I stopped at the doorway.

"She's my friend. And we weren't on a date. I officially asked Jaime if he'd ask her to hang out with me. Yes their is a difference.", I said before walking off so no one could comment back. I went to Norths office/personal workshop. I saved her number in my contacts, and decided best to let her sleep. I yawned at the thought of sleep. So, I walked over to my little area that I use to nap. It was just a little area on the support beam of the main workshop. But, it felt cozy. I even had a few photos, and posters. I got comfortable, and slowly drifted to sleep...

[In Jacks dream]

I was laying on a low hanging branch just waiting. When I finally heard someone stomping closer. I looked down, and smirked. Their stood Lily. Her forest green eyes glaring up at me. Her beautiful face contorted into a frown. He hands on her hips. Her glasses partially falling off her nose. I could stare at her for hours, but I knew she was not happy with me, and I know why.

"Is their something wrong, beautiful?", I asked her. Her cheeks flushed red. I'm assuming from anger because I'm purposely acting dumb. Her arms crossed over her chest, and she supported all of her weight on one leg, so she was getting ready to yell.

"Yes. Their is something wrong. I want my notebook back Jackson. So, give it back, now!", she demanded using my first name. I grabbed her notebook from my cloak.

"Then, what's in it that's so important?", I taunted her. She stomped her foot on the ground, and glared at me harder. Fixing her glasses. Gods if looks could kill I'd be in the deepest parts of hell right now. But, it would be worth it.

"None of your business, Overland! Now give it back!", she threatened. I opened to a random page, and cleared my throat," Don't you dare, Jackson."

"August twenty-first. His hair was as always. Messy, untamed, unruly, and gorgeous. It makes my heart beat a mile a minute-", I began.

"Jackson Overland-Frost don't you dare read my notebook!", she yelled at me.

"The worst of it is that he sits in front of me everyday. In a way we were friends though he does tease me it makes me happy to know that he's there.-", I kept reading.

"Jackson! Please give me back my notebook!", she pleaded.

"I've know this boy for years, but I've never had the courage to finally admit that this brown haired beauty is and has always been on my mind. That he gives me this feeling of happiness, completion, warmth. His chocolate brown eyes. His small tint of blush due to the cold weather. His hatred to wearing shoes...", I stopped. When I first started to read I was hoping, but now I know. This girl that was pretty much the definition of beauty to me had/has a crush on me. I was the only boy in our village who refused to wear shoes. Especially during winter. I loved to feel of the snow on my feet. I looked down at her again, but she was crouched against the trunk of the tree. Soft sobs escaped her lips. I slowly, and quietly crawled down to her. She looked at her, but then turned her face. She was so embarrassed she couldn't even look at me...and it's all my fault. I looked down at my lap where the notebook laid, and I placed next to her side. She looked at it then to me in confusion. I looked away unable to look at her. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know how you felt. Now you're sitting here crying, and it's all my fault." I assumed she left. Her feeling for me gone. But, to my surprise I felt her lean on me. Wrapping her arms around me. I felt my cheeks blush at the contact.

"It's okay. Also I'll understand if you don't feel the same.", she told me. I looked at her, and crashed my lips onto hers. I heard her yelp in surprise, but she didn't pull back, and in seconds she was kissing me back. I held her cheek with one hand while the other wrapped around her waist. While she wrapped her arms around my neck. Her lips were soft, and warm. I pulled away after awhile, so we could breath.

"You're not the only one who has secret feelings for someone.", I said to her. She giggled, and looked at me. God she's beautiful." Lily, will you be my girlfriend?" She studied my face, and smiled, pecking me on the cheek.

"Of course Frostbite.", she whispered to me. I smiled at her. Then everything started to fade away.

"Lily? Lily?!", I yelling as she vanished. I was left in the dark. Then I heard small sobs coming from somewhere. I followed the sound until I found something that I couldn't believe...
