Walking Nightmare
~Gregory's POV~
Riding in the car with Felix and Mr. Aaron we came upon the elementary school as Mr. Aaron pulled aside and parked the car. Felix ran out of the car as Mr. Aaron shocked his head and looked back at me. "I'm sure your racking your brain about what I told your mother, aren't you Gregory," he asked as I looked up at him, he knew, "I told her that we found a shirt that had some of his blood on it but we couldn't find a blood trail or other means of following or finding your father." So that's what was in the bloody bag, I feared for the worst but knowing that it was only a shirt with blood on it. Sighing as I felt like a big burden was lifted off of me. Mr. Aaron was smiling as I got out and walked into the nosy hallway of the elementary school.

It was around lunch time when I was pushed to the floor from behind. Grunting out I slowly rise'd to my knees and looked behind me. There my worst enemy stood smirking like a chester cat from the book 'Alice in Wonderland'. "Well, well if it isn't daddy-less Gregory Jackson. Have you found your pathetic father yet, Goldie locks," Zack Washercoin said as his goons laughed at me. He had silvery brown hair with teal blue eyes that almost made him look blind. I wanted so badly to stand up and punch him but I held back. I couldn't afford making mother worry anymore than what she already is without father in the picture. "Last time I checked Zack you're blind'r than a bat," that voice I recognized very well. Looking the other way I saw Felix along with his red haired friend, Andrew Free. A lover of anything pirate related.
Looking down I saw the tightly wrapped bandages around his right hand. Last week at the park a rabies- infected dog got loose and attacked Andrew. I remember the blood but mostly how the animal control killed that dog with no hesitation. That image was still in my brain though they said to forget. How can I forget something like that when it happened only meters away from me and Felix's friends. Getting up with the help of Andrew Zack gritted his teeth and walked the other way. I smiled at Andrew before Felix dragged me to their table and there I guess I ate my lunch with them. It seemed just the right perfect setting for a life without any worry- a carefree life- if that was even possible.

"It was unnecessary for many to ignore a cry for help," I remember someone saying but I guess many times help never comes. Without a cause or anyone around a cry for help could likely be ignore. Felix yelled my name in the distance as I looked over he was waving his hands happily with his father next to him. Giving off a small smile I walked over to Felix and Detective Aaron. "Dad said it was alright if he gave you a ride home, Gregory," Felix said with enthusiasm in his voice. Simply nodding as Felix dragged me into the car as I could hear Mr. Aron chuckle at Felix's excited behavior. But eventually Mr. Aaron got in as well and started heading towards my house to drop me off. Mother must be worried that I didn't say goodbye this morning. She can have mood swings when I'm not around, at times- hopefully grandfather kept her busy all day.
Arriving home mother came bursting from the house and engulfing me into a backbreaking hug. Grandfather was smoothly walking out of the house with a sweat-drop like face. "My baby boy where were you," mother sobbed- she must be in one of those mood swings now. "I went to school mom, don't worry Mr. Aaron took me there and I'm perfectly fine," I tried to calm mother down. She eventually relaxed her hold and stood up, looking up at Mr. Aaron. She smiled and pulled me closer, "thank you for bringing my son to and from school for me Detective Aaron, how can I ever make up for that." Mr. Aaron chuckled and waved his hands out in front of him- I knew his reply very well by now. Mother always did this and I'm use to it in the long run so I know the routine by now.
"It was really nothing Mariah, Felix and Gregory are best friends so I didn't mind giving Gregory a lift to school," Mr. Aaron said as Felix came out on cue and hugged his father's waist. I heard a faint 'tsk' as I turned grandfather started walking towards his old purple ford mustang. I had to make an excuse to talk to grandfather before he left. I want to know why he did that to begin with and how was mother while I was gone. "Mom can I go say goodbye to grandpa before he leaves," I ask innocently and she nodded her head- she believed it, she's very gullible. Running over to grandfather I gave a slight tap on my grandfather arm as he looked back at me.
"Oh it's just you, Gregory, whats the matter?" his voice sounded tired as he opened up the car door and sat down sighing. " I want to know why you made that sound when Mr. Aaron said those words and also how was mom today after I left," I said softly as my grandfather looked at mother and Mr. Aaron. "Listen very closely Gregory," he started before he sighed, "you see that man over there is your father who cheated on your mother and since she has been on some really bad stuff during the last few years and now she doesn't even remember him. Being 12 you can be consider the man of the house- but, I'm worried about my health and your mothers, thinking this over a lot it's best to send her to the mental hospital for awhile since I caught her puffing on marijuana when you were at school."
"Mom promised me that she wouldn't do that anymore," I looked back at mom and Mr. Aaron- so Mr. Aaron is actually my biological father but mother doesn't remember anything about him, so that means Felix is my little brother cause he's only eleven. "Does he-" Grandfather placed a hand on my shoulder and sighed. "Yes he knows clearly and plans to never tell you or your mother. I wish I could punch him into telling but I'm just an old man now, promise me dear boy, if my name is ever used for something terrible will you do me a favor and get revenge for me," he said with a smile before hugging me, "I got to go check on a few things. I'll see you later alright." I nodded and grandfather got fully into his car and I stepped back closing the door for him.
Hearing the familiar rumbling of the engine I watch as grandfather pull out of the driveway and out onto the street. I felt familiar arms wrap around me in a hug, turning my head I saw Felix smiling like an idiot. "Dad and me gotta go home see ya tomorrow at Mike's birthday party," he smiled. That's right it was Mike's 11th birthday party at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria at 1 o'clock. Everyone will be there especially Zack Washercoin, oh well better go inside before mother gets worried.
