~Let the real story and fun begin~
Beep. Beep. Beep. Bang. Slamming my fist on the annoying alarm clock next to me. Wiping my eyes away the fairies sleeping sand crusted in my eyes. Pushing my covers off on me, walking over to my dresser I opened up my dresser third drawer to grab my favorite shirt. A plain long sleeve white dress-shirt with a golden yellow vest to pull over. Closing my third drawer and placed the two articles of clothing on the backside of the chair at my desk. Turning back to my dresser I opened the fourth drawer down and grabbed my favorite pair of shorts, dark navy like blue shorts that end a inch after the knee. I placed the shorts on the chair as I reached up in the first drawer and grabbed a pair of white socks. Pulling my pj shirt over my head as the beeping sound of another alarm clock going off.
Sighing to myself I finished getting dressed. Mother, she's very ill, I try to help but nothing I am capable of doing is helping out with mother's sadness. Maybe I should call grandpa and tell him that mother isn't feeling any better than when father first disappeared. Opening my bedroom door I walked through the hallways until reaching mother's bedroom door to find that her bedroom door wide open. Mother was lying on her bed halfway covered and heavily sleeping, sighing again I walked into her room and started picking up the huge mess that was in her room. Placing her dirty laundry in the basket and placed the broken nicknack's in the trash and put the one's that didn't break back onto the shelves and walked over to the bedside and turning off the alarm.
"Mom it's time to get up or else you'll be late for work again," I said tapping my finger against mother's arm. She moaned and grumbled before lifting up her head and looked up over at me. "Hello sunshine, can't you leave mama alone for five more minutes. Mama needs sleep," her messy blonde hair covered her eyes. I sighed and pulled the blankets off mother and picked up the outfit that she had left out for today. She attended a funeral home that normally goes to schools talking about the carpentry of each coffin to college students what want to get into the carpentry business and all which I don't care about. "Mom, you have a meeting with Mr. Aaron too this morning after coffee don't you," I said as I grabbed the brush from her dresser, "besides I need to go to school to and meeting up with Felix anyways for school."
She grumbled and got up heading to her personal bathroom before shutting the door. I'm glad I put her things in there so she doesn't forget, looking around the room once more before heading out the door walking down to the kitchen. I pressed the button on the coffee machine for mother and got my bowl and cereal for myself. I could hear her footsteps coming down the hallway, I looked over to the coffee machine to see the pot was full and hot. "Honey have you've seen my purse and shoes," mother called from down the hallway. Looking over to the door I saw the flats that she normally wears and her purse hanging off the dinning room table chair to the right of me. "They're out here mom, I turned on the coffee machine for you," I yelled out down the hallway.
Mother's footsteps came down the hallway as she emerged the slightly darken hallway and went over to the coffee pot and reached up into the cabinet's for her favorite coffee mug. It was a simple dirty white color, kind like a milky color, with a quote written on it in cursive letters. It read;
Dance
Like No One Is Watching
Love
Like You've Never Been Hurt
Sing
Like No One Is Listening
Live
Like Heaven On Earth
She hummed a little tune as she finished making her coffee and sat down at the table with me. She picked up the papers I had left there last night. "Good job honey" she said a whelm as she looked over at my tests and quiz's. I was called many things, mostly a teacher's pet for my grades and how I would always helped out when the teacher asked for some help. I can't help it I do it many times with my mother so it's muscle memory to me. She sipped her coffee until we heard a knock on the door. "I'll get it mom you finish your coffee," I said as I scooted off the chair and went over to the front door. Opening it slightly I saw Felix and Mr. Aaron standing there smiling. Felix was younger than me but we were still friends, I suppose. "Hey Gregory, where's your mother," Mr. Aaron asked as Felix came up to me and hugged me.
"She's in the dinning room drinking her coffee, she just got up not so long ago," I said as I hugged Felix back before he let me go of the hug. I lead them inside as mother put her coffee mug in the sink along with my empty bowl. She tries her hardest to act normal but I know those pained eyes all to well. She looked back at Mr. Aaron and smiled, "Good Morning Detective Aaron, what can I do for you this morning." He smiled then looked down to Felix and I before saying, "why don't you boys go play outside until we come out to bring you to school, alright." Felix yep'd with glee as I just nodded and went outside to the play-set that was in the backyard. Felix went on the one swing as I went on the other and started pushing myself to get a little wind in my face.
"You know, Gregory, dad and his team found something of your dad's and that's why dad told us to play outside," Felix suddenly said out of whelm as I could hear the sudden outburst of mother from inside. So even more bad news, I guess I would have to get grandpa involved now since mother is really sad and ill. "What did they actually find, Felix since you like to snoop around a lot," I asked as I jumped off the swings mid-air and landed on my feet, turning around I saw Felix trying the same thing. Except that he fell on his face as dirt smeared on his face. "Well all I saw was a baggie with something bloody in it but I have no idea what was actually in the bag," he said with a disgust facial expression before smiling again with dirt smeared on his chin and cheeks. I sighed and decided to head inside, I could hear Felix's footsteps behind me as I knew he was following me.
But I can't help but think about the nightmare that I had for the past few years. Why was my name and everything else different, and grandpa was younger and sorta evil looking. Maybe my imagination is more than what I think. Walking inside I saw mother sobbing on Mr. Aaron's shoulders. Walking over to them mother stopped her sobbing just to look up at me before throwing herself at me and sobbing harder. She was in terrible pain but I'm too young to help her with any of it as I just embraced her back. What was in that bag, and what did Mr. Aaron actually find and where? So many questions that I knew that Mr. Aaron wouldn't answer because of my age. But I wanna know what made mother upset like this and how to help, I want to help. "Felix, Gregory its time to head to school," I heard Mr. Aaron say as Felix ran over to the door.
"Sorry, but Mr. Aaron I want to call my grandpa first so that way he can watch over mom while I'm at school," I said as I grabbed the phone that was sitting right beside me as mother continued to sob hugging me tightly. Mr. Aaron smiled as he lead Felix outside, "alright we'll be waiting outside." Dialing grandpa's number I heard the familiar ringing and couldn't help but wonder what was in that bloody bag Felix brought up. Hearing the click and a bored and tired monotone'd voice on the other side said, "hello." I smiled and tried to speak over mother's sobbing. "Hi grandpa it's me, Gregory. Umm..... Mom is having what you call another break down but I have to go to school do you mind watching her until I get home because of what happened last time when I called you," I said waiting for a response from grandpa.
"Yeah I'll be over there in a few minutes just leave the door unlock like usual and I'll call her out of work, you just go to school and get great grades alright," he said as I heard shuffling on the other side of the phone. I ended with, "yep and thank you grandpa see you when I get home." I heard a mumbled, "likewise" before I hung up and gently pried mothers arm from around me. I kissed her cheek and said goodbye before leaving the house. I saw Felix wave to me, school here I come.
