~~~ Gold's POV ~~~

Opening my eyes I saw Ennard smiling down at me. Groaning, Ennard helped me sit up and hugged me tightly, "I'm so glad you came home safely. Oh by the way those pieces that you found fitted perfectly on the board but we are still bring three more pieces. They must be in this time. We have to find them quickly," he smiled and held me close. He felt so warm and relaxing, but I need to get up and find those jigsaw pieces. Ennard chuckled, "some of my memories have returned and the others started to rebel against the puppet. You did a good job Lance, let's finish this once and for all, alright." Nodding my head, I felt myself being lifted to my feet as Ennard placed my arm around his shoulder and started to walk towards the door to the basement.

"Where are we going, Ennard?" I asked as he sighed. He let me slump against him as he started to climb the stairs with me, "Upstairs, I want you to meet a friend I know, but he runs his own dinner himself." We started up the stairs as we reached the top of the stairs. Wait. The stairs are different. Could this mean that we walked to a different dinner without me realizing it. Ennard reached for the door knob as a noise from the other side, he chuckled as I jumped a little. "Don't worry, Lance, thats just my friend," his voice soothed my suspicion as he opened the door, I saw a tall male with dark navy blue hair as cat ears on top of his head. A tail swished back and forth as he was facing away from us. "Candy, I want you to meet Lance, the little boy I found so long ago. We need your help particularly meeting with your puppet," I froze at the word puppet. 

The male turned around as I saw a blindfold around his eyes, 'Candy' smiled before chuckling, "does this scare you, Lance, don't worry this is not because of the puppet, I lost them when I was damaged while a real bad storm 10 years ago. Actually the puppet here is a savior to us here." He smiled as he opened his arms, a light chuckle came from the corner. Looking I saw a girl with twin pig-tails with a mask opposite of Marionette's mask. "My Candy I didn't know you praised me so, hello Lance I'm Rebecca or rather know as the Reverse Puppet. Welcome to Candy's Burger Palace. What can I do for you today," she smiled as she took her time walking up to us. Rebecca was well mannered and acted like I true motherly figure.

She giggled a little bit before her relaxed tone of voice reached my ear, "oh dear, did she make those little lost children do that to you, you poor thing, but sadly I'm not your puppet so I have no power to help. Ennard why such a drastic measure by coming here." Ennard? Wait did he do something. I looked at Ennard's sad face as he sighed and pulled me into a tight embrace. "W-what are you doing, Ennard?" Why is my voice coming out scratchy. Am I going to cry, what for, though? We stood there for a while before he pulled away, "I can't see you hurt anymore, I'm going to set the others free and then burn myself and the puppet to the ground and hopefully you guys live happily here with these guys. I'm ending this here and now and I'm sorry for everything." 

A sad smile spread across his lips as he looked up at me. No, don't do this to me, Ennard. He hugged me once more as I saw a light in the corner of my eye. Looking over I saw a light come from a figure. Springbon. She stood there rotting away with each and every step. No, is this the end. This can't be true. Ennard, suddenly gave me a light push as I stumbled backwards and Candy caught me. "No! Ennard there has to be another way, please don't leave me," I screamed at him as he turned towards Springbon and reached out to take her hand. A mere second, nothing but bright blinding light, then nothing. I saw Ennard standing there holding the last three jigsaw puzzle pieces. "She kept them well hidden, but now it's time to finally wake up Lance. Wake up and remember everything," Ennard said as he started back towards the basement door.

I tried to take a step forward but Candy put a hand on my shoulder. Looking at him, he shook his head, "this is his way repenting his sins, Lance. Ennard is your adopted father." I could feel my eyes widen as Ennard closed the basement door. All this time, dad was suffering and I didn't know. I felt tears start to stream down my face as Rebecca patted my shoulder and Candy stood quietly. I can't let this end like this, I need to say sorry, I don't want to lose everything yet. My whole world was surrounded by his smile and always being there for him whenever he had those episodes. I pulled away from Candy and Rebecca and ran straight for the door. "BE CAREFUL, LANCE. HE WON'T BE THE SAME WHEN YOU GO BACK. SAVE THEM AND THEN COME BACK," I looked back to see Rebecca yelling and Candy nodding. Giving a quick nod I ran down the stairs and ran past everything in the basement. 

I'm not ready to say good-bye just yet. Please just give me five minutes with dad to say what I have to say to him. Reaching to the stairs I ran up them once more and opened the door. There was a red tinted glow everywhere, where is everybody. Walking around I soon found them curled up in a corner crying. What's gotten into them? A sudden pain stopped me as memories came flooding back to me. Man. Now I know why. This is way too much. Looking around I searched for the silhouette of Ennard, or should I say dad.
