Those Scars
Mao Mao was recovering at home, under the watchful eyes of Adorabat and Badgerclops. He truly was lucky to have such amazing friends like them to help care for him when he is injured. Sadly his pride was more damaged than anything. That mystery figure knew his weakness for cobbler and then took him on like he was a defenseless kitten. Oh how his ancestors were probably ashamed of him right now. Being defeated so easily by some cloak figure with familiar eyes. He had seen those eyes before somewhere. Yet he couldn't remember where exactly.
He was forced to pay down, He had sustain a back injury that made it hard to move around for a while. This mean his skills would dull and no monster fights for a while. No training either, so all he could do was meditate, watch tv, and listen to how Adorabat and Badgerclops were handling the monsters without his exceptional fighting skills. Mao Mao wanted to get better as soon as possible and then track down the accursed person who did this to him.
All he could recall about the attack were the two distinct scars on the figures left cheek. Those scars seemed very familiar, like he knew them from somewhere. They reminded him of that wolf girl from eight years ago who falsely accused his sister's of killing an innocent person. He growled at the thought. The nerve of that girl. He hadn't heard of the Wolf family since then, his father lost connection. He did feel a bit guilty for giving her those scars though, still those who I'll talk his family should pay.
Those scars... His mind now wondered to that day again. How he glared at that blue eyed girl as fresh tears began to drop from her orbs of sapphire blue. The look of shock and sorrow that was carved into her face while warm blood gently oozed from the cuts and stained her gray fur. That was not one of his best actions that day. Though when Tai scooped her into his arms, he saw something in her eyes before getting carried away. Her eyes were filled to the brim with hatred, not only towards his sister's but to him as well.
He took a shaky breathe at a thought that just appeared. He felt his fur being bathed a shower of cold sweat. His green eyes widen a bit and he allowed fear to show even with Adorabat close by. He shook a bit before letting the thought loop endless in his head.
What if that figure who attacked him four days ago was that girl seeking revenge? How did she know where to find him? Did she already go after his sisters? Does his father know about this?
The first two question scared him the most. How the figure could easily knock him out with so little skill was truly an person to behold. The last two were probably just fear influencing him. He knew his sisters were too skilled and had good instincts to away figures such as the one encountered. His father rarely kept in contact with him, so he mostly likely was not aware of this. Though he may know something about this, Mao Mao would call him once he could get back on his feet.
He would have to keep Adorabat away from them at all cost. Adorabat was skilled thanks to his training but she was still a kid, so fighting this figure was definitely not an option. She was so young and if that figure could leave him like this. Just the thought of what they would do to his child deputy made is heart crack. Adorabat did have parents, she had mention her father during the chef competition that he and Badgerclops were in. He still has yet to meet them though. As long as she was his deputy, he was her guardian and as her it is his duty to protect her from all threats that enter the Valley. He turned to see the little bat curled up beside him, sleeping by right side. He smiled at her, scooping her into his arms, gently rocking her.
Whoever this mystery figure is, they would have to go through him before they lay a finger upon his previous little deputy. Not to mention his best friend who arm laser could destroy the toughest of monsters with a single shot.
Those scars. His mind thought about those distinctive scars again. It was now clear to him that the figure was most likely that girl from eight years ago. Now because of his actions he put the valley in danger. He would tell Badgerclops in the morning since all this thinking down memory lane made the afternoon go by quickly. He knew one thing for sure now.
Night was in Pure Heart Valley.
