Darkness and smell of smoke filled her room. There Night was asleep from all her chores and training, only for the bitterly smell of toxic smoke to enter her nose. She woke up coughing harshly and could hardly see with all the smog in the air. Night instantly when on the floor and did her best to crawl out her room without breathing in the toxic fumes. Luckily she made it out safe, now to get her other family members out to safety.

"Mom! Dad! Timber!! The house is on fire!! Please if you can hear me, get out fast!" She cough as she called out, the fumes were like acid drops falling in her throat and melting it.

Night made her way to Timber's room, where the pup was in a corner crying out of fear. He was always afraid of fires and often had nightmares about them, so this was his worst fear come true had left him frozen in fear.  Nothing to soothe him but his tears. Night had to get to him, no matter what. Even if she had to do something risky. There was a path of fire between her and Timber, if she walked through, her eyes would surely be damaged beyond repair, even if shut. She would lose her powers that she was gifted with like all members of her family. Though what were powers like those compared to a brother like Timber. She made her choice and jump in the fiery path to get to her precious little brother, as a result her eyes were damaged by embers. She could barely see, everything was fuzzy and blurry.

"Night!" Timber instantly hugged his sister, crying harder

Night wanted to cry too, though there would be time to cry later. She scooped up Timber and tried her best to make it out of the room with what poor vision she had left.

"Where are mom and dad?" She asked as she tried to made her way to the front door, evading as much falling debris as possible.

" They went outside when two ladies came up to the house. I don't think they're inside"Timber was coughing violently, he was struggle just to get the words out

Night main focus was to get out of the house and to get Timber to safety. She was sure her parents would be fine and it was better to get the youngest to safety. She made it to the door but it was piping hot. Too hot to open.. That only left the window for their escape.

"Timber cover your face" Night tone was serious so Timber immediately obeyed without hesitation

Night rammed herself against the window glass and made it outside. There she breathe in fresh air, oh how her lungs praised that naturally fresh air.

"You okay Timber?" She asked, smiling at the fact that they escaped that fiery hell that was once the very place they called home.

Though her smile turn into a fearful gasp when she looked at her brother.

Timber was breathing shallow, barely getting oxygen into his long. He had breathed in too much smoke,.he could hardly move.

"Come on Timber, please stay with me..please..." Now her already bad vision was blurred even more due to tears, ones she allow to spill in her little brother's face.

"Sis..." Timber looked up at her with such a kind hearted smile.  "I'm dying... Huh..." He asked weakly

Night bit her lip at the cold harsh truth. How could this happen, just yesterday they were happily their lives and now it seems like they were dreaming and awoken to a hectic nightmare. She wanted to deny that Timber was dying and tell him that he would be fine, only her words vanished in her mouth leaving it dry.

"Sis.." Timber voice snapped her back to reality

"Yeah bro"Timber placed his paw on her eyes and whisper a chant like spell. He always was good at magic, the best she's seen ever. Though she never heard of this spell before.

After he was done, he removed his paw. Night could see him clearly now, as if her eyes were never damaged in the first place. When she looked back at him, she saw he now has her green damaged eyes. She now has his eyes and his powers.

" Timber, why?! Why do this?! Why didn't you heal yourself?! "She sobbed hard, upset at this act of foolish kindness.

Timber just smiled "I just wished...could...have..seen...Pure...Hea..." He could not finish since he was claimed by death

Night heart stopped, tears spilled out of her eyes.

Her little brother Timber was now gone

Night looked around about to call for help when she saw her parents bodies, discarded like unwanted garage. Who did this?! She looked around for the culprits. She saw two cat girls near their bodies then they disappeared as shadows in the daylight.

The daughters of Shin Mao, of the Mao clan. They destroy we her family, killed her parents. Timber, his only dream was to one day be the ruler of Pure Heart Valley. All taken away by that accursed clan.

"I will avenge him" Night growled, the sky went dark in that moment, allowing her eyes to glow.

Soon the Mao Clan would meet their end
