Memories of the Lost Soul
Night had finished doing some business with the villainous gang that claimed to be the strongest in all the world, only to turn out to be wimps without their weapons and armies. Though they had a good supply magical relics, so she made a deal with their leader, Ursa. Ursa would grant her the relics she needed and Night would pay a fair price for them along with a bit of an extra bonus at times. Ursa had learned first hand how deadly Noche was and why she was considered a legend. Ursa respects her and will hold up her end of the deals the two made. Yet Ursa was the one of the very few that successful good on good terms with her. Those who did not, sadly earned themselves an early grave. Sadly only ten villains and gangs made that list.
After she got back, Quinton approached her with a stack of papers to sign and look over. Night sighed, to keep up her ruse she had to to the duties of the queen. She was a hardworking person to get the status she had, so paperwork was a bit of a time killing task. Most of the papers were about requests that would surely put the sweetypies in dangers, yet they seemed to be harmless fun to them. Though she denied most of them as the promised punishment for harming Cyber. As she stated, no one messes with her family and gets away unpunished. The papers were easy to finish, about two hours at best.
She handed the old owl the stack of papers and dismissed him. The moment he left, she when into the forest to train. She has to sneak out for a few hours to keep her skills sharp. Never letting her guard down, ever. Training in the the hardest wooden trees in the forests, yet making sure her slash marks seem like mere monster claw marks. How the peak of her limit is just about to be reached, how her gray fur is getting bathed in a icey cold sweat shower, how her breath feels like a weight on her chest with each rapid inhale. That is when she knew she still had her skills. She took a small rest to recharge herself before making it back to the castle.
Though the moment she closed her eyes, she saw him.
Timber.
Her dead little brother, today it would have been eight years. He would been would have been a teenager by now. If only he were alive, perhaps loneliness would not haunt her as often then. She still could remember his sweet smile on that day that the flames furiously danced upon her home, reducing it to ashes. How the poisonous smog entered his lungs, completely blocking any fresh air from entering. The day she received his blue orbs of mind control to replaced her damaged green ones.
That memory plagued her mind on a constant loop and seems to want to present itself at the most unnecessary of times. Like it spires her in a way, blaming her for the death of Timber completely. She sadly agrees with it, she failed him when he needed her protection the most.
She still remember how he looked like from all those years ago, no detail mistaken. The images burned into her mind permanently. She would never forget him, her vow to herself. A vow that she would rather die than break ever. The vow she put above her entire being.
Timber was a gray furred wolf like her, though his paws had white fur. His ears were more cat like than a wolf though it was in a way cute. He had a small nose and had the most adorable howl like cry when he was happy. His eyes were a handsome green like color, like a unique emerald that mirror the reflection of those who look into it. His tail was like a blade of grass that was blowing in the air. As for his clothes. Her wore a white shirt with a black hooded cloak. He also wore a silver necklace that has a special pearl in the center that grants the abilities of levation, so he didn't really need to walk around always. Sadly the pearl could not work around fire. Timber could always been found above his big sister head, surprising her with the best hugs he could give. Though what made him precious was his smile. Her could never be seen without wearing a huge pearly white smile upon his face. Even on the darkest days, he tried his best to cheer his loved ones and friends with his adorable smile.
If only that could of saved him. Yet the harsh truth was, no amount of joy and happiness could ever counter the power of cruel fate.
There is one particular memory that always brings a small smile to Night. That one seems to cause the plague to be pushed back away for a short time. The memory was about Night and Timber going on their first mission with their great grandfather, Tai. He was taking them to a mystical ocean to meet a rare creature. The creature was harmless though Tai still kept the kids at a safe distant. Timber eyes lit up when he saw the creature, a flying dolphin like monster that heals those it finds true heroes. Night was also amazed, though she was more interested in how happy Timber was.
His smile was so warm, and full of life that day, it was like he was a creature that was only told in legends. Even the monsters seemed amazed on how caring he was towards them. Tai came to the ocean to heal some wounds that he received from his missions, so Timber and Night played on the beaches. After he healed up and they were ready to leave, the dolphin monster have Timber a pearl. He thanked them a million times, clutches the small pearl tightly in his paws. They whole way home Timber was discussing on ways to make it magical.
If only there were always days like that one. Though whenever she opened her eyes...
He was gone. Disappeared like the fire had eaten him like on the day of his death.
