Don't Get Me Wrong

Hey please listen to the song, Spiegel im spiegel.

Grian's Perspective-

It was weird.

Seeing Timmy all happy on Monday.

Don't get me wrong, I want Tim to be happy, we all do.

Ever since Tango died, he's been depressed.

But it seems like something happened where he's happy again.

He's now accepting our help and not pushing us away.

I mean, he still seems upset, and some days are harder than others, but he seems happy.

"It's because of Joel." He smiled at me.

"Who?" I asked.

"Joel. His husband died four days after their wedding, so he knows what I'm going through. He's been helping me out a lot and my parents are letting me stay with him over the summer so he can help me."

"Wait, what? You're not going to be here over the summer?" I asked, worried that I wouldn't see my friend.

Summer was only a week away now and we normally had plans where we would do game night every Friday.

"No, I'll be here. I'm just staying at Joel's place."

I nodded and we then split up as Jimmy had a different sixth period.

I wonder what Joel's like. He sounds nice since he's helping out Tim...

"Hey Birdie!"

I jumped and Mumbo looked concerned.

"You alright?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yeah! You just spooked me." I said, smiling nervously.

"You look like something's on your mind, what's up?" He asked.

"It's just...Tim."

"What's wrong? He seems a lot better."

"Yeah, I just...I don't know, I'm worried that he's hiding the pain."

"What do you mean?"

"I feel like he's still really down on this stuff with Tango but he's just bottling it up."

"I'm sure that's not what's happening."

"But we don't know that."

Mumbo bit his lip, "Why don't you ask him later?"

I nodded, "Yeah. Yeah, okay."

-

"Tim! Wait up!" I shouted, running after my friend.

"Oh, hey Gri!" Jimmy smiled, "What's up?"

"I just wanted to chat with you."

"Okay, well I'm on my way to Joel's place. If you want, you can come with."

"Oh...sure."

We started walking and I fidgeted with the strap of my bag.

"Look, Tim, I need to ask you something."

"What's up?"

"I...are you okay?" I asked.

"Er- yeah actually. Why?"

"I'm just worried about you I guess." I said, looking down at my feet, "I'm worried that you're bottling up your feelings and that you're actually really sad."

Jimmy looked up at me and smiled.

"No, I'm not bottling up my feelings. And to be honest with you, I am still sad about Tango. I feel like we could've had so many more fun times together, but he's gone."

"I know, and I am so sorry."

Jimmy shook his head, "Don't be. There's nothing you could've done."

I smiled, "Joel's really helping you out, huh?"

Jimmy shrugged, "I guess so."

We then walked up a path to a small white house and Jimmy knocked on the door.

A man who had brown hair that had a green streak in it opened the door.

"Hey kid!" He smiled, messing with Jimmy's hair.

He then spotted me.

"Oh! Who's this?" He asked.

"Grian." I said, stretching out my hand, "Joel, right?"

He nodded and shook my hand.

"Thank you." I then said.

"For what?" He asked.

I smiled, "For helping Tim be happy."
