Two weeks later...

Our heroes have taken shelter in a small cave for the night and their fire is still going strong. Clous has already turned in for the night as well.

Emarah: "O-Okay then."

Fiola has chosen to be the first on watch, then Rez, Emarah, and ending with Clous.

Fiola: "I'll be fine. You two better get some sleep."

Rez and Emarah get comfortable.

Rez: "Then wake me up when it's my turn."

Fiola: "Planned on it."

The two try to get some sleep.

Two and a half hours later...

Nothing all that spectacular has happened at it's about time for Fiola to wake up Rez as a wind begins to blow.

Fiola: "Alright, time to rise and shine."

She walks over and shakes Rez.

Rez: "(groggy) Huh?"

Fiola: "Get up. It's your tu-"

The trees begin to rustle.

Rez: "Huh?"

Rez gets up and grabs his staff.

Rez: "What do you think that is?"

Fiola readies her arm blades.

Fiola: "Let's try getting a closer look."

They cautiously head straight to where they heard the rustling.

Rez: "The wind is making it hard for me to sense this creature."

Fiola: "(sarcastically) That's reassur-"

Fiola turns around to see a large bird with a blade like beak diving straight for them.

Rez: "Duck!"

They both dodge to the side.

Fiola: "Think that Black Scar of yours can hit this thing?"

Rez: "This thing is fast! No way even Clous could hit it!"

The bird starts gaining altitude for another dive.

Fiola: "So we're fucked?"

Rez: "Yep!"

The bird dives for Rez as a name echoes in Fiola's mind.

Fiola: "Huh?"

Fiola aims her fist just in front of Rez.

Fiola: "Demon Needle!"

A black needle skewers the bird right though the heart just before it gets Rez.

Rez: "Was that magic?!"

Fiola looks down at her hands.

Fiola: "All I did was say a name..."

Rez: "So all of us can use magic as well?"

The two look at each other.

Rez: "Well, we'd better talk with Emarah and Clous about this later."

They both get back to the camp.

Fiola: "Alright then."

Fiola lays down as Rez takes a seat.

Rez: "(in head) So Fiola can use magic..."
