Town in Distress

One day, a telegraph came

from a small western town.

It seemed to be in distress!

Something about dried blueberries,

and chocolate pudding tins.

Kae and her hubby took off,

Racing towards this troubled town

called Busted Gulch.

After a few days travel,

Kae was busting into the Saloon,

boot heels clicking,

red braids trailing behind.

He followed in soon after,

catching her hat

before it fluttered to the floor.

After meeting Sheriff Rue,

they got a tour of the town.

Little Ron ran the newspaper,

CrazyGoose was in jail

(for what crimes, who knows!)

There was 3Gun, the trusty mailman

(nothing arrived on time).

Ruby was the proud proprietor

of a Kitten Adoption Agency

(free pudding for every kitten).

stannbear was the resident doc,

fixing illnesses and injuries.

After this tour,

the town rendezvoused

back in the Saloon.

Turning to Sheriff Rue,

Kae asked:

"How can we help you?

This town seems fine!"

Smiling sadly, the Sheriff replied:

"We recovered a body,

a week ago.

It belonged to Billy, our barber.

Less than a month ago,

his fiancé, Lean, disappeared.

We've got no clues but

an old pudding tin,

and dried blueberries,

recovered at the scene.
