25: Not Just A Kiss

Taeyeon walked hurriedly toward the elevator, clutching the strap of her bag close to her chest. Her heart was racing, not because of the rush but because of the anticipation buzzing through her veins. She had barely made it on time after oversleeping, thanks to the amusement park fun the night before.

As she reached the elevator, she let out a sigh of relief when she saw the doors still open. Stepping inside, she quickly pressed the button for her floor. Just as the doors began to close, a familiar voice called out.

"Hold the elevator!"

Instinctively, Taeyeon reached out to press the 'open' button. Jimin slipped inside, slightly out of breath, his hand brushing hers as he steadied himself.

"Thanks," he said, his voice warm with gratitude.

Taeyeon gave him a polite smile, though her pulse quickened when she realized how close they were in the confined space. "No problem."

The elevator doors shut, and an awkward silence filled the small space. Jimin shifted slightly, glancing at Taeyeon's reflection in the metallic walls. Not to mention, there are many eyes around them that are watching them so intently that Taeyeon could feel the weight of their curious stares.

"Woah, look at them; it looks like they are openly dating now," one female employee whispered which is above the whisper.

"Yeah, I guess they are," another one replied, looking at Taeyeon and Jimin from the corner of her eye, which made Taeyeon's ears burn with embarrassment. She could hear the whispers even through the slight hum of the elevator, and her grip tightened around her bag. She glanced at Jimin nervously, wondering if he had caught on to the murmurs.

To her surprise, he seemed completely unfazed, his posture relaxed as he leaned back slightly against the elevator wall. If anything was there, it was a faint smirk on his lips, as if he found the situation amusing rather than awkward.

But then there was a warmth that she felt around her hand. She looked down only to find Jimin's hand had gently slipped over hers, his fingers curling around hers in a subtle yet comforting way. Taeyeon's eyes widened slightly as she glanced up at him, her heart skipping it's beat.

Jimin's eyes remained calm, though his smirk softened into something more reassuring. He didn't say anything, but those warm caramel eyes did say, 'Just don't mind them,' making her heart flutter.

Taeyeon hesitated for a moment, unsure how to react, but the warmth of his hand and the steady look in his eyes made her relax. She let out a soft breath, her grip on her bag loosening slightly as her fingers instinctively intertwined with his.

For Jimin, he just wanted her to assure him that those words were unnecessary because he was there for her no matter what. He didn't care about the employees now, because he is also an one of them now and no longer a guest artist, so why would he care about what they think of him? That doesn't erase the fact that he is far better than them in every way.

He doesn't want to care if they think about this as attitude or arrogance, because he knows his worth and doesn't need validation from anyone else. His focus is on work in the company and then on supporting Taeyeon and making sure she feels safe and loved in his presence.

As the elevator reached their floor and the doors opened, Jimin gave her hand a gentle squeeze before letting go. Taeyeon followed, her heart still racing, trying to process what had just happened. The warm feeling of Jimin's hand still lingered as if he were still holding hers.

As they walked down the hallways to their respective cabins, Jimin stopped on his doorstep and turned to Taeyeon, flashing her a reassuring smile before saying, "Don't let them get to you."

Taeyeon looked up, meeting his round eyes, which were staring into hers. His soft features, such as his nose and lips, shined in the sunlight that filtered through the small window nearby, while his sharp features, such as his jawline and his gaze, streamed hot in the morning light, making Taeyeon quickly avert her gaze, her cheeks flushing as she realized she had been staring at Jimin longer than she intended. "I won't," she managed to reply, her voice soft but steady.

Jimin's smile widened, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he reached out to gently squeeze her hand. "Good," he said softly, his touch sending a wave of comfort through her. "I'll be quick getting my things," he added before letting go of her hand and heading towards the door. Taeyeon watched him go, with a smile that she didn't even know that she had, her heart feeling lighter than it had in days. She walked to her cabin, making sure everything got ready.

Later, Jimin returned with his things, stepping into Taeyeon's cabin with whole professionalism, which he usually maintained along with his friendly demeanor.

"Let's get started, shall we?" he asked, placing his tablet and stylus on the table, ready to begin their work together.

Taeyeon watched as he pulled up the sleeves of his light blue denim jacket with shearling lining, the casual thing that he does always. The soft lining peeked out as he adjusted the sleeves, making his already relaxed look more effortlessly stylish. His sandy blonde hair, which frames his oval face, is now adjusted into a ponytail, giving him a more put-together appearance.

Jimin noticed her staring at him from the corner of his eye. His lips curled up into a knowing smirk. "If you're done checking me, let's get started," he said, his voice lowering into a husky tone that sent shivers through Taeyeon and made her stomach flutter unexpectedly.

Her eyes widen as she quickly diverts her gaze to the laptop as her fingers start to tap on keys as she types whatever the key she pressed. "I wasn't checking you out," she shot back, though her voice wavered slightly, betraying her embarrassment. Yet she kept pretending that she was working on the script, avoiding his distracting gaze that was still staring at her intently.

His smirk deepened at her avoidance, and he leaned slightly closer, placing his on the laptop's top panel gently . "Oh really?" he teased, his voice still low and dripping with playfulness. "Because it seems like you can't take your eyes off me."

Taeyeon's cheeks flushed a deeper shade of pink, and she stiffened, her fingers pausing mid-typing. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before glancing up at him, trying to gain as much strength as she needed to not get distracted by his charm.

"Can we focus on the work rather than focusing on me, Mr. Park?" she retorted, her voice sharp but with a layer of flattery ever so slightly at the end, betraying her inner amusement.

Jimin raised an eyebrow at her response; clearly amused, he leaned back slightly, but the smirk never left his lips. "Of course," he replied smoothly, yet teasingly. "You know I'm just trying to make sure we're both..." he trailed off, leaning in again, this time close to her face.

His breath fanning her lip while his eyes flickered between her soft, dark brown eyes and her cherry-tined, bow-shaped lips, which were parted ever so slightly. The small gap between them made his focus waver.

The air between them grew thick as Jimin fought the urge to close that space to let his natural, soft pink lips claim hers softly and gently in that moment. His heart pounded fiercely against his chest as he fought an internal battle. 'What are wating you for? This is the chance...just go for it, Jimin. Kiss her!' a bold voice inside his head urged him, fanning the flames of his temptation.

But then a more cautious voice shot back, 'What are you, a pervert? Get a grip, Jimin, and step back!'

Jimin clenched his jaw, without slipping that smirk, though there is an internal battle reflected in his gaze. His lips felt impossibly close to her cherry lips, and that moment stretched on, intoxicating and raw.

Taeyeon, on the other hand, froze in place. Her breath hitched as she felt the heat radating from him, her cheeks now a brilliant shade of crimsion. Her mind just screamed at 'Say something, Taeyeon.' 'Do something,' but she was just caught in his gaze, which was also fighting so hard.

Just as the moment seemed on the verge of spilling over, Jimin pulled himself back as his rational side won. Yet he didn't give up on the smirk he had on, his voice a touch huskier than before. "Let's get started," he said casually as if nothing had just happened, though his mind screamed at him not to give in.

Taeyeon's jaw dropped slightly, and she snapped back to reality. Her face burned a deep crimson, and she quickly diverted her gaze to her laptop, muttering, "Sure," though there was slight disappointment, which she didn't know why... maybe a part of her just wanted to see what would have happened if she had let her emotions take over.

As her fingers moved over the keyboard in an attempt to refocus, she stole a fleeting glance at Jimin. He was already engrossed in his tablet, the smirk now softened into his usual calm face.

Time skips

As the hours blurred, Taeyeon and Jimin momentarily got busy with work. Taeyeon spent her time on refining the script and finalizing background sketches. Once completed, she busied herself with walking to the editorial department to discuss the finished mahwa panels for editing. With no time to pause, she immediately returned to her workspace to continue the next segment of the script.

Meanwhile, Jimin attentively worked on aligning the scenes and characters with Taeyeon's scripts. His tablet brimmed with the detailed sketches, each stroke of his stylus carefully bringing the life to the character and their emotions.

No matter how much they both drowned themselves in work, there is the tension from earlier lingering, waving itself into the silence between them. Every now and then, their eyes met accidentally, and Taeyeon quickly averted his gaze, earning a chuckle from Jimin while biting his lower lip as if holding back his smirk, which made Taeyeon more hard to focus on.

unfortunately for Taeyeon, today is not a day to lose focus. She had to work overtime to finish the remaining unfinished draft script, which, out of all things, is a kiss scene.

As hours stretched on, she stared at her laptop screen, fingers hovering over the keyboard, the words refusing to flow naturally. It's not like she had never written any kiss scene before, but today her mind is already distracted by Jimin, and now she is utterly stuck on how to write the delicate emotions of the scene without thinking about their earlier almost-moment.

She sighed deeply, her frustration evident as she muttered under her breath, "Why does it have to be this scene today out of all days?"

Jimin glanced up from the tablet, raising an eyebrow at her words. "Everything okay?" he asked, his voice laced with genuine curiosity but with an ever-teasing edge.

Taeyeon froze, her fingers pausing over the keyboard as she debated whether to tell him. 'If I say something about the scene, he'll definitely take another chance,' she thought while staring at him. 'But then again, he won't let it slide until I say... and also it's not like he won't see it anyway when he draws the scene after I finish the script.'

She exhaled deeply, turning her gaze from him, suddenly finding the most mundane object around the room much more fascinating than his teasing smirks. "I just got...stuck on a tricky part of the script," she mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jimin's lips curled into a slow smirk as he leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving her. There is no way that Taeyeon would find something tricky while she was writing, no matter what it is, from what he has seen, but hearing that from Taeyeon only made him more intrigued.

"Tricky part, huh? What's so tricky that made my creative writer stumble?" he asked, in a casual yet playful undertone that made her nervous in her seat.

She bit her lower lip, refusing to look at him. "Just...something I need to word carefully," she said, her voice shuddering slightly.

Jimin's eyebrows drew together, tilting his head, staring at her for some time as if he was trying to read what was with her. "Taeyeon," he stared, his voice dripping just slightly, "You know I'm going to draw it no matter what it is, right? You may as well just tell me what's got you so worked up."

The softness in his eyes and the effortless huskiness in his tone made Taeyeon's heart skip a beat. She swallowed, still not looking at him, her fingers nervously tapping against the edge of the desk. "it's just... it's a kiss scene," she mumbled, as if saying the words out loud would make it too real.

Jimin didn't say anything immediately. Instead, he got up from his chair and leaned on the table, his eyes never leaving her, making Taeyeon's stomach do flips. There was a small twitch at the corner of his lips, clearly showing who he is holding back his smile.

"A kiss scene, huh?" he repeated, his voice smooth and teasing, but also deep. "I see what's got you all worked up."

Heat immediately crept up to her neck, flushing her into a deep shade of red, and she quickly glanced up at him with those flushed cheeks. "It's not like that," she protested weakly, but her words lacked the truth that she was really so worked up.

He took a step closer, pushing himself off from the desk, his gaze locking completely on her with an intensity that made her heart race. He could see right through her, the vulnerability in her eyes, and it only seemed to add fuel to the fire of his teasing.

"Oh?" he murmured, "because it sure looks like it's exactly like you are struggling to write just a kiss scene." he said pressing his tounge hard on 'just' part while reaching over, tapping her laptop screen lightly, his fingers brushing close enough to her hand that she felt a jolt of electricity.

Taeyeon bit her lower lip, trying to maintain her composure, but the way his words lingered in the air made her feel as if the walls between them were dissolving. She took a deep breath and looked away, forcing her to focus on the screen.

"It's not 'just a kiss scene' " She said and continued, "I just wanted it to be meaningful. I want it to be more than just words on a paper or something in a rush through."

"So you want it to be so real."

"I'm not—" she started, but her words got caught in her throat as Jimin's body loomed just a little close, his proximity adding to the tension in the room.

"I know, I know maybe not too real but something real and meaningful," he trailed off, pulling her up from the chair to his chest, "Am I right?" he asked as his gaze lingered her eyes before staring back at her face.

Taeyeon froze not even trying to answer his very small question while her heart hammering against her chest. She could feel the warmth that was radiating through their bodies, and for a moment, it looked as if time stood still. The logical part of her mind screamed to step back, telling her, It's not the place or time for this, but the other part, the part that was human, craved the one that had left before to complete now.

"Jimin—" she began to protest, but her words slipped away as she looked up into his luscious light brown eyes, which were visibly screaming for her attention, wanting her to just give in.

"I can help you to make it real," he continued, his voice soft, almost in a way that she couldn't explain to the point even if the word seductive would fit or not. His thumb lightly brushed against her arm, staring into her dark brown almond eyes.

What if he just pulls back like earlier even after he wants to make it real? The thought echoed in her mind, but she could not deny that the idea of being pulled closer, of feeling him, made her heart race.

Before she could think more, she blurted out, "Just don't say it, if you were about to pull back just like before," and when she realized what she said out loud, her eye widen, "J-just don't mind my words," she said quickly, looking everywhere but at him.

His smirk flattered a little; he didn't expect she was disappointed back when he just pulled back, and Now...if she just blurted out boldly what she felt, or she accidentally said it, it just made him keep all his teasings and flirtations, even his rational side, to himself for now.

"Then let me make it up."

His words hung in the air, thick with the promise of something more. He totally wrapped his hands around her waist, pulling closer this time as their noses brushed, his gaze softening, but there was an intensity in his gaze that made her breath catch in her throat. It was like he could sense her hesitation about whether to give in and the softness of her eyes, and he wasn't ready to pull this time.

His lips softly brushed against her upper lip, for which she involuntarily parted her ever-so-slightly parted lips, words having left the room as the silence started to speak its volume. Their soft breath taking on a life of its own, mingling in the space between them as they leaned in, their hearts beating in sync, can be heard loud and clear in the quiet room.

He shifted slightly, again brushing against her bottom lip with the same amount of deliberate tenderness, as if her lips were soft, delicate petals that he was afraid of crushing. Each gentle press of his lips sent ripples of warmth through her, leaving her caught between the urge to pull him closer and the nervous flutter in her chest.

Her finger trembling as they hovered near his chest before instinctively clutching at his shirt, anchoring herself in the moment. She could feel his thumping heartbeat against her palm, a rhythm that matched the pace of her own racing heart.

Jimin's grip became firm yet careful, as if he was grounding them both, allowing her space to get away if she wanted. But she didn't. She stayed, her lips slightly quivering under his lips, silently waiting for him to continue.

His lips pressed fully now, slow and deliberate, melting all the tension and uncertainty between them. It wasn't hurried or desperate; it was filled with a tenderness that made her feel safe and deeply wanted.

And yet this was the very kiss scene she had struggled to describe in her script...the one where the character is consumed by an overwhelming passion and comfort, a moment so real it leaves them breathless and yearning for more. Now, she wasn't just writing it; she was living it.

The kiss deepened ever so slightly, his tongue grazing her bottom lip in a whisper of asking for permission rather than just taking it. The gentle action brings her to the present, allowing herself to part her lips further as her mind blurs into the sensations overtaking her body... the softness of his lips, the way his hands moved to her back, smoothing over her dress , the deliberate care in his movement, and the way he made her feel as if nothing else mattered.

When Jimin finally pulled back, his forehead rested against hers, their breaths mingling as they struggled with themselves. Taeyeon's eye fluttered open, meeting his gaze, which already held a softness that made her heart ache and race all at once.

"I wasn't going to pull back this time," Jimin whispered, his voice low and sincere, his lips curving into the faintest smile.

Taeyeon let out a shaky laugh, her fingers still clutching his shirt as if she wasn't ready to let go. "But we have to now," she murmured, her voice barely audible yet tinged with hesitation. Though she doesn't want to let go, the reality of where they were is making her feel very conscious to not risk.

she was thankful that the cabin's door was locked and the glass was covered with curtains, offering them a sliver of privacy in this stolen moment. Even so, her mind raced with the thought of someone knocking or needing them outside, though the kiss had stolen all her coherent thoughts just moments ago.

Jimin let out a chuckle, shaking his head at her overthinking, his hand reaching up to cup her cheek gently. "I don't know why it always amuses me how easily you can just go from zero to a hundred with your thoughts," he said, his thumb tracing small circles on her skin. His voice carried the fondness along with the playfully teasing, pulling her focus back to him.

"J-just get b-back to the work," she stammered , trying to regain her composure as she pushed away the distracting thoughts. She could feel her heart still racing, but she refused to let it take over.

Jimin smiled, his eyes gleaming with amusement, before leaning in and pressing a quick peck to her lips, soft and light. "As you wish," he murmured, giving her a knowing look before returning to his own task.

Taeyeon watched him for a moment, her breath still a little uneven, before turning her attention back to her work, the words on the screen seeming to blur under her gaze.

As soon as Jimin sat in the chair, his phone lit up with the message from the person he most awaited.

Ki-joo: What the hell? You mean PARK FREAKING JIMIN? How can I make Taehyung fall for me?
