I Like Your Hair

Stating that I was nervous was a huge understatement. I was restless, even stressed. I've heard rumors about Freddie Mercury, and he seemed like a jerk. Many girls said they were hurt by him in the worst was possible. But it was just a stupid rumor I bet, but I still worried.

It was ten till six and I was packing my bass and amp into my car, a car I rarely used because I loved walking. And I was a horrible driver.

I got into the driver's seat and hesitantly started it. I held a strong grip onto the steering wheel and drove off towards Brian's and Roger's.

The roads were busy, this was the time when adults usually got off work. I was stopped at a long light, so I occupied myself with the mysterious dashboard I occasionally opened. I pulled the handle and a white piece of paper fell out and onto the floor. I leaned over to pick it up and examine it. My stomach churned at the sight of it and I quickly let it drop to the ground.

It was a photo of Veronica and I at our graduation. We were holding each other, smiling into a kiss. In the background, I saw the man glaring at me. Instantly, a wave of nausea hit me.

A beep from behind alarmed me that the light has changed. I took no time to speed towards my destination.

I pulled up into the driveway and stepped out, hauling my things with me. I slipped up the stairs and placed my amp down to have a free hand to knock. I made three swift knocking movements and the door opened to an unrecognizable face.

We exchanged glances of uncertainty and confusion for a few seconds.

I must say, these were the most exotic brown eyes I've ever came across. Browns eyes have always been a bore to me until now. His bronzed skin glowed and taunted my pale complexion. He had very prominent teeth and long shimmering hair. His body looked slightly feminine, yet he held lots of masculinity.

"Hello, you must be John. I'm Freddie." Freddie held out a hand and I shook it.

His voice was something on its own. If his looks didn't draw me in, his voice certainly did. It was smooth and velvety, with a hint of a ritzy tone to it. It was perfect.

I was invited inside and Freddie helped me carry my things in. He closed the door and motioned me to sit down. He entered what seemed to be a kitchen and came out with a sandwich on a plate.

"Brian told me to give that to you once you arrived. Don't ask why, I don't know myself." Freddie chuckled. I smiled and ate the sandwich. Freddie sat silently on a lone chair, probably silently begging Brian to come. I wasn't good with small talk.

"I like your hair." I stated blankly. Freddie twirled a few strands of hair with his finger and eyed me.

"You do? Thank you darling! I love your hair as well, it tops off your look." He complimented. I didn't entirely understand what look I was going for, but I rolled along with it.

"Thank you." I finished my sandwich and went into the kitchen to wash the plate.

"Just put it in the sink, it's Roger's turn to wash dishes and he never does them. It's about time though." Freddie stated. I didn't argue so I dropped it in the sink with a shrug.

"Since Brian and Roger aren't coming out their room any time soon, do you want to go ahead and play for me?" He suggested. I nodded my head and quickly set up my things.

I was a bit rusty but that didn't seem to show much while I was playing. Freddie watched my playing closely and looked at my face. I tensed up and continued playing until I was finished.

"You're just what we needed! Why didn't you show up any sooner, you are a close friend of them, no? But who cares, you're fucking in!" Freddie cheered. I couldn't help but blush at how important that made me fell.

"Thank you so much." I shied. Freddie sat next to me and I became uneasy. I felt vulnerable, I wanted to cry. What if the rumors were true, what if he hurts me right now.

I felt tears fill my eyes and I quickly tried to blink them away. Brian walked into the living room and caught sight of me. He noticed my discomfort.

"John! So you met Freddie, did you play?" He asked while helping me to my feet. I slowly nodded my head.

"He was marvelous! I want him in our band." Freddie stated.

Brian looked down at me and smiled. He held me close to his chest and hugged me. I was confused by his gesture but it was  making me feel better.

"You're in the band!" Brian whispered. I nodded my head and hummed.

I knew how well Brian and Roger played, they were practically experts. But I've never heard this so called "angelic" voice of Freddie's yet, but why rush things.

Roger walked out and found Brian hugging me.

"Ew gross." He groaned as he entered the kitchen. Brian let me go which I have to admit, I missed his arms immediately, and he laughed.

"Y'know, Freddie and John should hang out for a day to bond, since they just met. They're basically strangers." Roger suggested from the fridge. Before I could object, Brian spoke.

"That's a great idea, what do you think?" He said looking towards me. I could not just say no! Freddie is standing right there and his presence frightens me.

"T-that sounds alright." I mumbled. I wanted to mentally stab myself and Roger at the moment.

"Sure, but where would we go?" Freddie asked, probably not too fond about the the idea either.

"A walk in a park. You both love walking in parks." Brian suggested.

"Why just walk, how about a romantic picnic." Roger snickered. I groaned and felt me face burn. Freddie looked unfazed.

"How about just a picnic in the park, on Sunday?" Freddie made the final decision. I nodded my head and looked at Brian, who shrugged his shoulders.

"That leaves you two alone for awhile." I smirked. I winked at Brian and he looked startled.

"Does everyone think Roger and I have a fling?" He asked. Everyone nodded their head, including Roger.

"My ex thought I was dating you. Do you know how awkward that was?" Roger laughed. Brian grinned and stood beside Roger.

"See, look at them!" Freddie whispered to me. I couldn't help but giggle.

"I saw them snogging under a tree a few weeks ago at a party." I whispered back. Freddie gasped and smiled wickedly.

"No way." He said in a normal tone. I nodded my head and grinned.

"They weren't drunk nor high, they just started making out once we arrived there."

Something within Freddie and I sparked a bond between us. We mentally made a plan to tease them. I'm already liking Freddie Mercury.
