Second Entry

Today I am fifteen. When you come back from where I went, they hold you back a year so you can get used to things again. But I never forgot a single thing I learned here. It had all stuck in my mind like a starving insect in a glue trap. I wanted to yell, "I'm sixteen today! Sixteen, not fifteen. Why don't you know?" but I knew I couldn't.

If I did I could be sent back; someone would start asking questions and I would be forced to answer them. You can never lie about this place, I remember them tell me as the clock swung on the chain. It never worked on me, but I masked my consciousness with a sleepy gaze and they never made any complaints, never changed their ways.

I felt that perhaps it was because they didn't know how. All they knew were their step by step, printer-copy instructions. Like factory workers, they knew nothing but their one task so they could perform it day after day. What use is there in having any knowledge other than what is presently necessary?

They are not like the people of today. I am glad of that, for sure. I could not stand to live in a world of such ignorance and idiocy. Poor to the people who do, suffering off in their own dimensions. I myself reside in a simple dimension that consists of only three planes. We call it Serra tre Lati for its vibrant flora and for its dimensions; its inhabitants, however, refer to it as Emisia.

However, this world is not a paradise. We have poverty and sickness and death—but, death exists everywhere. I wasn't aware of that as a young child. No one thought it important enough to teach it to me, I suppose; it simply wasn't relevant to us, with our physical state being the way it is. If they had taught us, perhaps I would be sixteen today. Or would my antics still have led to this?

~ All right, second chapter's out! Still working out the plot, but I felt I had enough to write a second part.

The book's title and each chapter's title may be changed. Also, I have gone back and reworded things a bit in the first chapter. Things will begin to progress faster once I get a handle on the plot. ~

What do you think of it so far? What are your suggestions or ideas for what it could be?
