Chapter Two

Kisa's POV

"Did you really need to go around the entire village?" I asked, feeling highly annoyed. Kakashi and Minato had decided, instead of a small race, they were going to go around the entire village.

Idiots.

Now standing in the middle of the Hokage office, dad sitting in his chair with an amused look, I sighed and waited for our 'mission'.

"Sorry about that," Kakashi rubbed the back of his neck with a sheepish expression.

"Alright!" Dad grinned. "Now, about that mission. Kisa, Minato, I need you two to take a scroll to Gaara for me." I frowned.

"Kazekage Gaara? Why?" I asked, eyeing dad carefully. Minato just grinned.

"When do we leave?" He asked, hands behind his head as he shifted from one leg to the other, almost like he was getting ready to run.

"Here is the scroll," Minato stepped up to take the scroll, but dad bypassed him and handed it to me. "Kakashi isn't going to be going with you this time, it will only be you two." I placed it in my weapon pouch.

"Minato and I can handle it , dad. Don't worry." I assured him, seeing as he had a sort of worried look. Shooting me an unimpressed look, he sighed.

"Unfortunately, everyone is out on missions, or I would send them." Dad ran a hand over his face. "And I have a mission for Kakashi." Facing my twin, he put on his sturnest expression, the one he used when he was serious. "Because of the content of this scroll, it is an A-rank. Minato-"

"Keep an eye on Kisa and never let her out of my sight. Got it pops!" Minato grinned and draped his arm across my shoulders. "Like Kiki said, we got this!"

Dad nodded. "Off you go, kids." He stood and made his way around the desk. "And be careful. This scroll is very important." He pulled me into a quick hug and fist bumped with Minato. "Unfortunately, I need you to leave now. I'll let mom know."

"Bye, dad!" Minato grabbed my hand and pulled toward the window. He pulled me with him as he jumped out the window, leaving Kakashi and dad to facepalm as he dragged me with him. "Come on, Kiki!"

"Would you stop calling me that?!" I begrudgingly allowed him to pull me to the front gate. "I don't see why you made a nickname when its the same length as my name." I blanched. He had started calling me Kiki when we were twelve, saying it was easier - and cuter - than Kisa. He's an idiot.

"Oh quit complainin' will ya?" Minato let go of my hand and we bound out the front gate. "I've only told you my reasoning, like, a million times." He glared at me as I ran beside him. Rolling my eyes, I hopped up onto a tree branch and upped my speed.

***********

"Eh~ I'm so tired," Minato whined as we slowly approached Suna's gate. His arms were behind his head as he let out a huge yawn. "Kiki, can we stay the night?"

"It couldn't hurt." I agreed. All too soon, we were entering the Kazekage building and up the stairs. I knocked on the door, and after hearing a gruff 'Come in', I opened it and stepped inside. "Hello, Lord Kazekage," I bowed, and smacked my twin when he rolled his eyes.

"Ow!" He whined, holding his head.

"Kisa, Minato. What brings you here?" Gaara frowned and leaned forward, chin resting on his folded hands.

"Dad asked us to deliver a scroll." Minato grinned and snatched the scroll from my weapons pouch before tossing it at the red haired man. Gaara caught it easily and un-did the seal that had been placed on it.

After looking it over, he nodded. "Yes, thank you." Gaara closed the scroll and smiled slightly. "It's late already, why don't you stay the night. You can head home in the morning."

"We were already planning on it!" Minato laughed.

"Well, enjoy your night." With that, we left the Kazekage building and started our search for an inn.

"Theres one," I pointed to a semi descent one that wasn't too busy. We went in, got our key and went to the room. There were two full size beds up against opposite walls.

Minato dropped on the one closest to the door while I sat down on the other and pulled my hair from its ponytail. "Kiki~" my twin turned his head in my direction, his eyes wide in the puppy dog face that only ever really works on mom.

"What do you want, idiot?" The puppy dog eyes never ceased, and yet, they still had no effect.

"I'm hungry!" He announced. "You should go buy us some ramen!"

"What is with you and dad, and ramen? You two are addicted the to it!" I frowned and ran my hand through my hair as I stood. I had to admit though, he had the right idea. It's been hours since we last ate.

"Ramen is food that is made from the gods! It's heaven in your mouth!" I cringed as drool fell from the corner of his mouth at just the thought of ramen.

"Theres no doubt.. you really are like a mini version of dad." I laughed. Minato just rolled his eyes and grinned.

"Hurry up and get food, woman!!"

"Yeah, yeah. Just don't fall asleep until I get back." I slipped out of the room and out of the inn, eyes darting all over the place for somewhere with food.

My eyes landed on a bar where four men were coming out and stumbling my way. "Hey, gorgeous, wanna have some fun?" One slurred as I walked past, deciding to completely ignore them.

"Hey!" A hand grabbed my shoulder, and I was quick to react, grasping the hand and twisting it behind the man's back, hard enough he fell to his knees.

"Ow!" I let go and turned to keep walking.

About thirty minutes later, I ended up in the same position.... Sort of....

My back was to a wall, and a total of three men stood in front of me. But they weren't drunk. Oh no, they were just barely tipsy.

"Come on, beautiful, we just want to have some fun, maybe go and get a drink."

To make matters worse, they were Shinobi, still sporting their head bands.

"Like I said before. I'm not interested. Excuse me," I tried moving away from the little enclosed space they had made, but the third man grabbed my arm and roughly pushed me back to the wall. I glared, as he started speaking.

"Now, now. Let's not be hasty. We just wanna take a lovely lady out for drinks-"

"There you are," the voice was unfamiliar, as an arm slipped around my waist. "I've been looking everywhere for you, sweetheart. I thought I told you not to run off." The voice was definitely male. "You had me worried."

"Who the hell are you?!"

I glanced up, hoping to catch a glimpse of his face. He had these hard green eyes that were mesmerizing, and black hair that was pulled into a low ponytail. It was probably about shoulder length.

"Look, man, we were just taking her out for a drink." One of them made a move to grab my hand, but the mystery man took it instead.

"I'd appreciate it if you didn't pester my girlfriend." Pulling me into his side, I noticed the corner of his lips tug into a smirk.

"Whatever," the men said. Mystery man whisked me away from the men, keeping me close to his side, though his grip loosened slightly.

"Alright, princess, where are you headed?" He asked, his face emotionless as we stopped after turning a corner. His arm was still placed firmly around my waist, and he glanced down at me.

"I was... Going to get food for my brother.." I answered, much softer than I anticipated. I fellt trapped as he stared into my eyes, a strange emotion passing through them.

"Theres a ramen shop near, that'll have to do. I don't want you on these streets anymore tonight." He stated, as if he had control.

Snapping from my daze, I narrowed my eyes.

"Who are you anyway?" I forced my feet to stay in one place as he began trying to guide me. He frowned, and looked down at me. He was at least a head taller. "I'm greatful for your help, but I could have handled them."
"I'm sure you could have, sweetheart," he chuckled and tightened his hold.

All too soon, we were at the ramen shop. He lead me to a stool. "Sit," he ordered gently. I did as I was told and sat down, very aware that he was sitting beside me.

"How can I help you?" An old man smiled from behind the counter.

"I-I need two miso ramen to go," I said, eyeing the mystery man beside me. He had completely bypassed my earlier question.

"Here you are, little lady." Two kidded bowls, placed in a bag, were set in front of me.

I took the bag and slipped off the stool. "Thank you," I said to the old man. He nodded and waved.

Mystery man followed suit and linked my arm with his as he lead me from the ramen shop, right back to the inn where Minato was waiting.

Then it struck me.

"How... I never told you where I was staying." I stated, pulling away completely. My eyes narrowed as he leaned down, his face a mere inches from mine.

"Go inside, princess." He ordered, just before his lips grazed the skin of my cheek. My face heated and I tried desperately to find my brain again. "Good night." He chuckled.

And then he was gone.

Leaving me standing there, red faced and barely keeping a hold on the bag.
