Chapter Three

Kisa's POV

"How... I never told you where I was staying." I stated, pulling away completely. My eyes narrowed as he leaned down, his face a mere inches from mine.

"Go inside, princess." He ordered, just before his lips grazed the skin of my cheek. My face heated and I tried desperately to find my brain again. "Good night." He chuckled.

And then he was gone.

Leaving me standing there, red faced and barely keeping a hold on the bag.

"What.... the hell was that?" I asked myself, hand covering where he had touched.

"Yo, Kiki! Dad just sent Gamakichi with a message. We gotta go home." Minato walked out of the inn with his arms behind his head and a scowl on his face. "Why's your face all read, huh?"

"It's nothing, idiot." I turned my face away so that he couldn't see my still warm cheeks. "I wonder why dad would send Gamakichi-"

"Heya, princess!" A large frog appeared from the inn. "How ya doin'?"

"G-Gamakichi..." I peeked back into the inn to see the inn keeper on the floor, looking deathly pale. "Is he dead?"I jumped and grabbed hold of Minato, who just laughed as he followed my gaze.

"Nah, just unconscious. Don't worry, sis!" Minato grinned and draped an arm over my shoulders. With a sigh, I rolled my eyes at my brother, a strange feeling washing over me.

I felt like I was being watched.

"Hey, Mina?" I let go of my twin and frowned when he hummed. "Um, nevermind.."

"C'mon, Kiki, we better go." With a nod we made our way out of the village, and started toward home.

{Surprise Shiori's POV}

"How could you keep this from me?!" I fumed, glaring daggers at my husband as I stormed into his office, ignoring the horrified looks from the Jounin there. "And yet, you send them out there anyway?!" Naruto sat back in his chair, arms crossed over his chest as he kept his serious face.

"Honey, I trust them. They won't tak-"

"Naruto! Those are the lives of our children!" I slammed my hands down on the desk, making everyone, but Naruto, jump. "Why the hell would you send them out there?" I broke. Naruto looked pained as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Everyone out." Without a word, the Jounin left, leaving us alone. "Sweetheart, come here." He opened his arms as he stood up.

"If they're targeting you, then they'll target them too." I muttered as I delved right into his arms.

"I sent Sasuke to meet them, just a few miles away from Suna. They'll be fine." He sighed, "You know that neither Kurama, nor I would risk the lives of our children." He pulled back slightly and took a gently hold of my chin, lifting my face. "Besides, with the way they've grown up, they aren't weak."

He pecked my lips and smiled.

"I would have preferred if you sent dad, or maybe Kakashi with Sasuke." I felt my eyes sting at the simple thought of losing any of our children, or even Sasuke. "That way he wouldn't be alone, he would have back up-"

"You and I both know Sasuke. He won't let anything happen to them. He's become an uncle. You know that he doesn't take that lightly after everything that happened between us." Naruto sighed, pulling me back against his chest as he started rocking back and forth.

"Promise, they'll come home safetly. And if they don't, I'm going after them." I wiped at my eyes as I took a deep breath.

"I promise, baby," he hummed.

{Minato's POV}

Why, does it seem like every time we leave the village, we seem to attract trouble?

I glanced over at my bloody and bruised twin, her breaths were uneven, and she was panting. I wasn't much better off. Blood trickled down my cheek, obscuring the vision in my right eye.

"Kiki," I huffed. Hearing her hum in response, I stared around us at the rogues. There were at least eight of them. "We do this," I started, holding out my hand. She nodded, a determined look in her similar blue eyes.

"Together," she finished, taking my hand.

We managed to take most of them down with a single blow of the curse. But one crept up behind Kisa and wrapped his arm around her neck, pulling her into a choke hold.

"Mina..." Her eyes were wide as she struggled against the larger man. He chuckled, the sound dark as his grip on her tightened. My heart stopped.

"Let go of her!" I screamed, pulling out a kunai and running at him.

"MINATO!" The familiar voice stopped me in mid step.

"Your too late." My gaze snapped to Kisa, just as her eyes closed, her head slumped to the side and her body went limp.

The rogue licked his lips as he eyed her small body, his eyes taking in everything, before he gripped her chin tightly. I couldn't tell if she was breathing. I couldn't tell if she was dead.

All I could see was red.

{3rd POV}

Sasuke narrowed his eyes as the rogue's tongue darted along his nieces cheek. "Minato, listen to me." He ground out as his mind reeled over countless strategies for saving Kisa. "You need to stay calm." He stated, his voice completely monotone.

"He just-!"

"Calm. If you don't, it will rage uncontrollably and you'll kill all of us." The raven haired man moved beside the blonde teenager. He had no idea how he was going to save his niece. But he had to try. "And, if you're not calm, then we can't save Kisa."

"I thought this was going to be fun. But apparently not." The rogue spoke up, his grin turning malicious. "Oh well, You took too much time. I'm bored. I think I'll go play with my new toy. Adieu." The rogue waved.

Sasuke drew his sword and raised it, bringing the blade down on the disappearing rogue. There was a scream, and the rogue was gone, along with Kisa.

Biting his tongue, Sasuke glared at the ground where the rogue had stood. All that was left, was an arm, which he had been able to chop off, right before he was gone.

Minato stared wide eyed at the spot as he dropped to his knees, body trembling.

Clicking his tongue, Sasuke glanced at the teen, contemplating how he was going to tell his friend. And most of all, his sister.

{UNKNOWN POV}

There was rustling in the trees. It couldn't be wind. It was forced. There was a metallic smell in the forest.

Blood.

I sighed as grunting made its way to my ears. Standing behind a tree, I made sure I was able to see the wounded person. A man, with one arm missing, and blood pouring from the wound, kept a firm hold on an unconscious blonde girl as he dropped to a kneel and then back so he was sitting.

The girl frowned in her sleep, and I noticed just how familiar she was.

There was a stab wound on her abdomen, and she was covered in blood.

"You should hide your chakra better if you're going to sneak up on someone."
The rogue chuckled, but coughed up blood immediately after.

Slipping into the open, I narrowed my eyes on the man. Pulling out my katana, I aimed it at his heart, watching carefully as he let her go. Her body slumped to the ground and she coughed with the rough action.

"I think you're done," I stated before shoving the tip of my blade into his chest and twisting. He sputtered something, then coughed out more blood. Turning toward the girl, my eyes widened slightly when she began forcing herself to sit up.

When did she regain conscious?

Shaking my head, I crouched down beside her and carefully wrapped my arms around her small, trembling body. "W-Whe-"

"Shh. It's alright now. You're safe." I soothed her questions as gently as I could as I scooped her up. Her crystalline blue eyes were frantic as her fingers clutched at my coat, but soon closed as she succumbed to exhaustion. "Get some rest, princess."
