I decided to go out on patrol. I wanted to find something, anything, to distract me from thinking about my wife and daughter. I found a warehouse being robbed, I jumped out of my jet and when I landed on the ground I found the last person I wanted to see, my future mother-in-law. "Well well, seems there's a new bat in town." Cheetah said, "Give up Barbara. You can't win." I said, "So you know who I am, that makes one of us. Why not take off that silly cowl?" she said, "It doesn't make much difference. I'm not important." I said coldly as I took off my cowl, "Shame, you were a real cutie and my daughter could use a new daddy." she said, "Not interested. Besides, Iron Height's doesn't allow conjugal visits." I said, "How bold. I like that, this kill is going to hurt me more than it's gonna hurt you, promise." she said with a wink before rushing at me and trying to jam her claws into my throat, but I grabbed her wrist, "I'd let go if I were you. Or won't you save all those hostages with bombs attached to their chests?" she said, "You're one sick kitty." I said as I threw her to the ground, "I KNOW!" she said as she pounced on me, "I'm just insufferable!" she said as she slammed my head into the ground, I looked up and saw the worst possible things, young me and Terra were here and watching the fight, "ENOUGH!" I shouted as I threw Cheetah off me, "Bat-Lad! Get over here." I said causing young me to run over to me, "From now on you're not Avenger. You need to earn that name, so take the first step and keep her safe." I said as I pointed Terra out to him, he nodded and ran over to her, "YOU BROUGHT YOUR KID TO A ROBBERY!" I said angrily, "Oh like you have any right, you brought yours." Cheetah said, "No I would never bring my daughter with me, and he's not my kid." I said coldly, "Well then let's hope you're fast enough to save her!" she said as she threw a bar into the scaffolding (y/n) and Terra were under, "DAMN IT!" I said as I flew over to them and shielded them with my body, "You kids alright?" I asked they nodded, Terra was trembling, "Good, I want you two to get to safety I'll come to find you once I defuse the situation." I said as my cowl formed over my face before I threw the rubble off us, "CPS is gonna hate you, Barbara." I said, "That's assuming you live long enough to call them." Cheetah said as the kids ran away, "Time to get serious!" I said as I flew at her and threw a Batarang at her, but she jumped out of the way allowing me to slam her to the ground, "YOU'RE DONE!" I said as electricity coursed through my suit and into my glove, I placed my hand on her back and tased her until she passed out, I made sure she was secured to the ground with some high-tension cables attached to a few Batarang's before rescuing her hostages.

As promised I went looking for the kids and I found them a block away hiding behind a dumpster, "Hey You two are safe now." I said, "(y/n), you made Barbara very worried when you snuck out. I suggest you get home, I'll make sure she's taken care of." I said he nodded and left, I noticed a few scratches and bruises on Terra's arms, "You're safe now. Your mother is going away for a very long time, and I'm gonna make sure you find a good home." I said, suddenly she clung to me, "help." she said softly, "Terra you'll be alright." I said she shook her head, 'Terra did tell me that she had a man who helped become the woman she was. Maybe I can be that for this version of her.' I thought, "Terra, who do you need saving from?" I asked, "Mama." she said, "She's going to Iron Heights. What about your father? Where is he?" I asked, "Papa?" she said, "I see you don't know, do you." I said as I put my fingers to my ear, "It's me, I'm gonna need an apartment. I'm keeping a promise I haven't made yet." I said, 'Understood, but don't get any ideas, she's a child and not your wife.' Bruce said, "Knock it off. You can't keep track of your own kids." I said as I picked Terra up, "I'm gonna look after you until we can find a permanent solution." I said as I carried her away.
