Knock. Knock. Knock.

Alexandria counted three knocks however, they felt more like poundings instead of a knock. Alexandria wondered how much time had passed by and how many calls Mr. Magnum had to make in order to do what he needed to get done so that he could help them travel safely without a trace.

The goal was to avoid The Pulse as long as possible until they find them, but Alexandria didn't want to live a life that was on a run. For so long there was this crazy guy that was a long distant relative from Professor X and for seventeen years her mother kept the secret about her being a mutant from her. She felt upstet and very much confused. She wanted answers, she wanted to know everything, but the world wasn't going to give them answers. Not unless she made something happen.

Ms. Ferris answered the door to their room. The same room that smelled like sweat and urine. It wrinkled Alexandria's nose and she suddenly felt sympathetic for those who were actually living in the dumps. If mother was still running this business it wouldn't smell so bad as it did and Alexandria was still shocked that she had even went so far as to agree with working for a building like this and a man like Mr. Magnum. Even if he was small for his size, Alexandria couldn't believe how sour the man spoke. His words stung worse than acid spraying in your face, he had aspirations to keep this place running, but seriously how many years could any man take until they croke in a building that smells like urine and body odor.

No one, that's for sure; at least that's what Alexandria thought.

"The Boss wants to see you now." The tall guard said with a smile and a grunt as he stepped out of the way so that the two could make their way back into Mr. Magnum's office.

Once inside the same as before happened, the guard took his post and the Ferris' took their seats. However, Mr. Magnum appeared to be more tired. He could be stressed with the calls. He was rubbing his right temple with his right index and middle fingers as his short stubby frame was hunched over in his chair. A cigarette was in an ash tray, it was still lit and the smell of smoke caused Alexandria to sneeze.

"Bless you," the guard said with a nod as Alexandria and her mother looked back.

"Thank you," Alexandria said awkwardly and slowly turned back to face The Boss.

"So..." Ms. Ferris began, "what's the plan? Do we have any solutions to our problem?" She asked.

"About that.." Copper looked up and lowered his hand from his head and picked up his cigarette and smoked a few puffs of the cigarette. "If you want to get to safety. You're going the wrong direction, I can't take you to Maine."

The two ladies looked at each other with conflicted faces.

"What, so where do you want us to go?" Ms. Ferris said with a frown, she realized the mistake when she wanted to go to Maine in the first place.

"There's a few places you can go. Some safe training for Alexandria. I did manage to reach some people who have offered Alexandria some safety." Alexandria felt dumbfounded; they were talking about her, in front of her. Like she wasn't actually here. She cleared her throat.

"I'm right here, so where are these places, what are these places and why do I need training?" Alexandria blurted out, she sat back as soon as she registered what she had done and said.

"I-um, sorry." She said and looked out to the wall on her side of the office.

"There's a nice spot back in Nevada in the outskirts, but it's heavily patrolled by The Pulse and there's been a recent expansion there with the U.S. Military, but there's also Colorado, Texas Alaska, and Hawaii."

These options were a lot to taken. Alexandria didn't know what he meant by that, but she didn't feel comfortable with this at all.

"Which one gives her the best protection?" Ashely asked Copper. He looked into his notes and flipped to s page in his notebook.

"Alaska and Hawaii are the ones that'll give Alexandria the best protection and the best training, but for payment."

"Okay I'll do it. Let's go to Alaska."

Hope you guys enjoy. Sometime in May, I'll start having some more free time and will be able to post. I apologise for not updating the Evil Queen, I just don't have the inspiration to write fantasy right now. Especially when I'm working on school and writing these other books.

Although, Don forget to comment, like and follow if you haven't already. Any feedback is welcomed. :)
