III
As a baby, Alexandria never knew this yet, she would possess unique abilities. Abilities that could possibly save the world one day.
That one day could possibly become the most stressful and heart breaking day of her entire life.
August 17, 2019. Gloria's Hospital for Newborns. Timber Creek, California.
The nursery
"Oh aren't they adorable?!" A woman squealed with excitement. Not just any woman, there was a nurse who was watching over the newborns who were placed in at the nursery. Mrs. Ferris watched through a special window that allowed visitors to watch their newborns.
"Oh, yes! Especially my baby." Mrs. Ferris said. She looked down at her stomach, and rubbed it. Her surgery took a couple of hours, but it was well worth it. Alexandria Michelle Ferris was going to be the best child that Mrs. Ferris will ever raise. Since it'll be her only child.
Androids were looking over the babies in the nursery, and Mrs. Ferris watched as one of the androids that was designed to look like a woman picked up a pacifier that plopped out of Alexandria's mouth. The newborn happily sucked on it and quickly went back to sleep.
A few tears trickled down the mother's cheeks.
"Here, you look like you could use one?" The nurse asked as she genuinely pulled out a handkerchief from her purse. Mrs. Ferris wondered why the nurse was allowed to carry her purse around, but maybe she was on break and wanted to go get some breakfast from the cafeteria or something.
"Thanks." Mrs. Ferris said quietly. She used the handkerchief to clean up her tears. She felt so proud of herself that she had managed to birth her own child. It was hers, and no one was going to take her away.
Not even Professor Xander. He wanted her child. He kept on telling Mrs. Ferris that she'll be needed to save the future one day.
Professor Xander was the next generation after Professor Xavier. A distant cousin to Xavier. However, Xander was a little more crazier and more prophetic than Xavier.
There were three sets of footsteps that came walking down the hallway. Mrs. Ferris and the nurse turned, she clutched onto the strap of her denim purse as Professor Xander and his guards ambled through the hallway. The two guards had a holster and a pistol on their sides, while Xander just had himself. His usual dark clothing, and his average male frame with combed blonde hair. He had similar facial features to Professor Xavier, but everything else was completely different. Mrs. Ferris froze in place, the nurse said that she'll see Mrs. Ferris later.
How could he have found her here? Of all places? He found her at the GHN?
"Mrs. Ferris. Oh I'm happy to see that your daughter's birth went well. Great name too. Decided to name her Alex. Your husband's name." It wasn't a question, it was just stating the obvious.
Mrs. Ferris arched a brow. The surgeons did a really good job, and they had fast acting chambers that provided faster healing for the mother's after surgery. So she was able to walk around after a few hours. However, those chambers were only the 2019 models, and the first of their kind to exist in the United States.
"Professor Xander?" Mrs. Ferris asked with confusion and her eyes went wide eyed as she turned to face him and his two guards. "You weren't supposed to be in here..." The mother said, as she glared at him, with her hands on her hips.
"Oh that's where you're wrong. I am completely welcomed in this building." The Professor said with a smirk on his face.
"You see, I decided to come visit, and well-" he looked back through the window to see the newborns who were sound asleep. "You remember the last conversation that we had had?" The Professor asked the mother. She looked through the window, her heart was racing. She felt vulnerable, scared even. She wanted to run, but she wasn't strong enough to run yet. Just enough to walk.
She nodded, and she gulped down a mouthful of fear.
"You're not taking her." She said with a firm voice. "I don't care if your prophecies have something to do with her. She's my child, and I say no." She pulled her hand out in the air and prepared it for a slap across the Professor's face, but the force was cancelled and stilled as the Professor used his abilities to prevent himself from getting slap. Mrs. Ferris' arm hung their in the air for a few moment.
"I understand. But, she will be mine. I need to save the world, and she can do it. Your husband tried stoping me once, but failed miraculously. You will fail too." He smiled, Professor Xander and his guards headed outside. The mom's arm dropped, and she slid down on her knees. Her chest felt heavy. Her breathing was tight. She wanted to cry. The emotional pride that she felt before, quickly slipped out of her system, and dread engulfed her. She was definitely a damsel in distress.

Hope you guys enjoyed this flashback! Sorry that this was a chapter by itself. I figured why the hell not and go with it? It's about 800 words. So it did not go to bad. A short confrontation with the professor and Mrs. Ferris. Well, now Ms. Ferris. Her husband died trying to kill the professor, since he was a threat. So now, Ms. Ferris is going to do her very best to keep away from Professor Xander and wait as long as she needed to before the time comes.
P.S. Don't forget to vote, comment, and or add my book if you haven't already! Constructive criticism is always welcomed, and I would love to hear what you guys think!
