II
Alexandria felt relieved knowing that she was able to go to the bathroom without anything to worry about. It took her a few minutes longer than usual since she had been storing her urges for hours while sleeping. It was an emergency. She never went so long without using the bathroom.
She washed her hands and stepped out of the tiled bathroom, and there was an automatic paper towel dispenser. The frame had a touch screen sensor with a screen built into it and it would generate the amount of paper towel that you'd want. Or you could tap in what kind of material that you'd like, but you'd have to pay for that with the credits that you have.
"Wonder where the time went?" Alexandria mumbled to herself as she balled up her paper towel and tossed it down a chute that was then sucked up by a pipe. Even the garbage men don't have to take care of their garbage in this world.
Alexandria headed back into the lobby of the gas station. Where they were selling all sorts of candy, and other foods and drinks. Her mom was standing by the donut section, and was carefully inspecting the donuts while she was doing that Alexandria walked up to her.
"Found any good ones?" Alexandria asked with a smile and pointed out a box. The box had some hard to read font on it, but Ms. Ferris knew what it was.
"Boulés." Her mom said and picked up two boxes. "Sweetheart wanna get you and me some coffee for the two of us. I just like straight black. You can add some espresso to the both of them."
"Sure, mom I can do that." She said and started to walk over to the counter that housed the coffee. Almost everything was digital, and generated automatically. However, as the 17 year old girl was walking over. The screen on the side of the gas station was flickering inside the building, and she looked at it. Thought it was a screen issue, but something was telling her that this was wrong. Something was wrong. Her hand was tingling as she was getting the coffee.
During this short period, a van pulls into the parking lot, playing loud pop/punk music. However, it was quickly turned down, and whoever was in the van had turned down the music. The front windshield was harder to see through since the shade was quite dark.
Figures piled out of the van, and there were at least four of them that had walked out. However, the total amount was unknown. Two of them carried rifles of some sort. They aimed them towards the building and each pulled the trigger. There was a psionic wave that was strong enough that caused the strong and thick glass to burst. The electronics went down, and Alexandria ducked as glass came flying at her. Everyone else inside the building ducked and took cover. The power was down, and the electric pulse stalled the backup power too.
The four figures stepped inside the two strapped their pulse rifles on their backs and switched to small pistols. The other two pointed a finger at one of the guys behind the counter and an invisible force was lifting the man up from behind the counter, and everyone was freaking out. They couldn't leave from the front. If they left the building they could shot at if they decided to go out the back. They could have more people waiting at the back to. Alexandria went to her mother they both grabbed each other tightly and ducked behind an isle. Her mother was pulling out a small hand gun that she had in her purse.
"You've had one?" Alexandria whispered with shock as the screams continued.
"Everyone calm down! Stop screaming, please!" One of the thugs said. It sounded like a male, but he was wearing one of those ski masks like normal thugs usually where, and dark clothes. The other thugs were wearing similar ones, but two of them were girls from the looks of it, and the other two of them were men. The first man that spoke, his words were very orderly, and demanding even.
"Boss, you want us to round them up?" The other man said.
"Yeah, go ahead Snakes." The leader said. He could be smiling, but it was difficult to tell behind a ski mask. The other three had split up, and moans and cries followed as people were grabbed and taken to the front.
Alexandria and her mom were supposed to go to Maine, but there's obviously been an obstacle that they could not escape.
Two separate sets of footsteps could be heard if Alexandria and her mom were listening closely. One on each side of the isles. Alexandria grabbed a can off the shelf. As the two came down the isle. The mother and daughter took cover behind one of the isles.
"Shh." Ms. Ferris said in a whisper.
"Here's more!" One of the women said and aimed a gun at the mother. Mom shot her small mini pistol first and the woman took cover on the side. Alexandria threw the can at the second man, and he ducked and grabbed at her as he walked. Alexandria went low for a punch, but failed. She screeched and her mom turned to shoot at the man and shot him in the shoulder. He yelled out, but the bullet had popped out and his skin regenerated.
The woman behind the isle went up and instantly unarmed the mom.
The two were pulled out of their cover and dumped at the front of the building, where everyone else was.
It didn't seem like they were going to get their donuts and coffee like Alexandria hoped.
"Mr. Ray, that's your name right?" The leader said as he came up to the guy who used to be behind the counter, but was now on his knees shaking with fear just like everyone else. He had a jacket that had his name tag on it.
"Y-yes." He said through a stutter.
"Good. Good. Now I think that you owe us some money." The man said with a nod as he confronted Mr. Ray. Mr. Ray looked like he was in his fifties, black/gray hair. Short and combed. He was a little round, and wore jeans, and a white T-shirt with his black employee jacket. Sweat was dripping down his fingers.
If Alexandria had her phone, she would be able to call the emergency police force.
"Take what's in the register." He muttered with shock. "I can give you the codes. Please. Don't hurt me. Or any-anyone here. P-please." His hands were shaking.
"You were a nice guy once, but we can't live off of one supplier mate." The boss said. "Plus this last deal took you longer to fulfill your payment."
Mr. Ray was breathing hard, and he looked at the others. He stopped when he looked at Alexandria, she didn't know him, but he looked oddly familiar.
"The codes are a good idea. However, we take the cash, and then we take you." Mr. Ray was still shaking as he stood up, everyone aside from the mom and daughter was whimpering and crying.
"O-Okay. As long as you promise not to hurt anyone else." Mr. Ray pleaded, and hoped that they'd carry through in their word.
He headed behind the counter, and the women went to the back of the van in the parking lot and a moment later came out with a case.
They followed Mr. Ray behind the counter and watched him carefully as he used his biometric scanning to unlock the registers. They unlocked, and the two women used the case and a device that absorbed the codes was aligned against the register. The second man went to grab Mr. Ray and the three of them went to take Mr. Ray into the van. The others were very nervous as the boss stands around watching, and waiting.
He observed his hostiles. Pulled out his cell phone and dialed down a number. He put the phone up to his ear.
"We have Ray. Anything else.that you need?" The boss said through the phone. There was a response, but it was muffled and only the holder was able to understand what was being said from the other side.
"I understand." He waved at the van, and three more guys piled out if the van, and headed inside. Somehow, the boss was looking at Alexandria, and the mom. Ms. Ferris looked confused, until she looked at her daughter. She realized who these guys were, until it was too late. The three guys went for Alex, and she raised her hands to protest, and a bright flash of light was cast bright enough to blind the whole building. A lot of the occupants had shielded themselves from the sudden light, and Alex and her mom stood up and rushed out the back. As soon as they stepped out of the back door, they both were instantly teleported back into their car. Alexandria was frantically shaking. Her mother didn't say anything and quickly drove away. Leaving the building behind. Alexandria was panicking and breathing hard. She watched as the guys started to jump back into the van and tried to catch up to them.
However a van like that won't be able to reach them.
"How did y-" her mom began to ask.
"Just drive!" Alex called out through panicked breaths. There wasn't any times for questions. Ms. Ferris turned the safe driving off and quickly sped down the freeway. Hoping that the men would lose them.

Hope you guys like it! Phew that was a close call! Alexandria had opened her powers and she is so scared she doesn't even know what to really do.
There's going to be a flashback, so don't worry! Let me know what you guys think of how this second chapter turned out and think about what's going to happen next. There's so many plots that could happen, but there's a good one that I have in mind.
