Ant.

We leave the docks, wary of Nereus' riddles. I kept looking around the ocean, feeling like we were being watched and followed. After a while, my sister, Fontaine, points out the missing fishing boat we were looking for. I still feel like we are being watched even as I get out in the knight to check out the ship. After a bit, the 'dragon' shows up and mom yells at me to stay still. I feel movement behind me, as if water is being pushed at me. The dragon seems to observe me before retreating after eating the ship.

"Ant! Stay very still! Something is behind you!" Mom and Dad yell through the communicators.

The movement returns before something surrounds me and it looks like I'm staring into a giant clear blue eye. The creature blinks before picking me up and swimming towards The Aronnax. It rushes to the moon pool and sticks it's head in, lifting it out of the water a bit before dropping me onto the platform around the moon pool. I stare into the large eye that seemed way bigger than the 'dragons'. It looked almost bigger than me. The creature seemed to blink before I heard the doors leading into the room start to open, causing the creature to retreat out of the moon pool, and back into the sea.

"Ant!" Fontaine, Mom, and Dad all yell out, hugging me after I got out of the Knight.

"What was that thing?" Mom asks, looking into the moon pool.

"I don't know... I think we better close the moon pool before it comes back." Dad says, already using the controls and closing the entrance to the moon pool.

"I don't think it wanted to hurt Ant, it was like it was..." Fontaine trails off, looking for a good word to describe it.

"Protecting me." I state, still staring at where the creature left. "It was like it was protecting me from the dragon!" I yell excitedly. "And did you see the colors?! It was a dark blue and a lighter underbelly! It was so cool!"

"Yeah, Ant. Come on, let's hurry up and find what we're looking for." Mom chuckles before we continue our mission. I feel excited knowing something so big is out there, and it seems harmless in a way.

After a few hours, we go back to the docks to see two kids, around my age, talking to Nereus. They seemed to be arguing a bit. Nereus notices our arrival and quiets the two. He smiles as he walks up to us and decides to speak with mom and dad as I examine the two beside him. They both had red hair, but the girl had light blue strips in hers, while the boy had darker blue in his. They both had clear blue eyes, the girl's reminded me of the creature. She was smiling at me the whole time while the boy huffed in annoyance.

"Newtons, I would like you to meet some friends of mine." Nereus starts. "These are..."

"Leac Seawardal. And this is my brother, Lincoln Seawardal." The girl says happily. She shakes our hands before looking up at Nereus, expecting him to say something. I notice the boy cautiously look around, before I notice no one on the docks anymore.

"By any chance... Did you four see a rather large creature out there? Larger than the dragon?" Nereus smiles as he asks us, like it was a common question.

"Uh, yeah. We actually did..." Mom hesitates. "What do you know about it?"

"It's a protector! It chooses who it seems fit of the secrets it wields!" Leac bounces up excitedly before Lincoln grabs hold of her arm and pulls her closer to him to keep her tamed. "Who did it save?!"

"Ant. It... It was behind him as he came face to face with the dragon." Dad says slowly. "It brought him back into the Aronnax and left before we got to see it closer."

"Hmmmm... Come, Leac. Nereus, we need to go. I apologise we didn't get to speak more." Lincoln speaks sternly, gripping Leac tighter around her arm.

"Lincoln! Oh come on!" Leac whines as she is pulled away.

"I apologise for his... Actions. He's very protective of Leac, they only have each other, and he doesn't want her to get... Ideas." Nereus smiles as he says this.

"Come on Ant. We need to go." Mom calls from the Aronnax.

The next day.(not an episode)

I was relaxing in my room, thinking of something for Jeffrey so he can go on adventures with us, when he normally can't. Dad was currently in his workshop/office, examining the scroll thing I managed to get yesterday in the trench. I'm pretty sure Mom and Fontaine are on the bridge at the moment. That's when the alarms start going off loudly. I rush to the bridge and see Dad there too, talking to Mom hurriedly.

"Ant! We have to go close the moon pool! C'mon!" Fontaine yells, running past me.

"Why? What's going on?" I ask her as we reach the moon pool.

"The creature from yesterday? The one 'Leac' called a 'protector'? It came back. And it brought a friend..." She says hurriedly, trying to close the moon pool doors. I look at where the two creatures were suppose to be, barely entering the moon pool by now, but I see two blobs of red and blue hair. The break through the surface and gasp for air.

"I told you this was a bad idea!" Lincoln scolds Leac as they see our shocked faces.

"Uh... Hi?" Leac waves shyly.

"How'd you two get in the moon pool? We're a hundred feet under water." Mom says.

"Oh... Uh..." Leac rubs the back of her neck nervously.

"We are the Protectors." Lincoln states in a monotone.
