Chapter Twelve - Forgiveness and Forgetfulness
Hi! So, I'm not dead. That's about it. Enjoy!
------------------
"Potter!? Abbott!?"
Shit.
"How much of our conversation did you hear!?" Ginny exclaimed.
"Not too much -"
"Don't lie to me Harry!"
"From people knowing to dying in two years," Hannah said regretfully, "We're sorry, but I saw you two in the library and -"
"And so you decided to eavesdrop!?"
"No! I thought Astoria was going to hurt you or something. Please, I'm sorry!"
"Sorry won't cut it!"
"Gin," Harry started, "you have to understand our concern after what all the Slytherins did -"
"All of them!? Do you see a Dark Mark on Astoria's arm!? Did Draco Malfoy not save your life twice!? What about Snape huh!?"
Astoria began to breathe faster, "Guys -"
"Ginny! We know we were being stupid but we didn't realise!" Harry cut Astoria off.
"Ginny," Hannah began, "we were only trying to help. We thought -"
"Thought what!? That Astoria was gonna throw me off the Astronomy tower!?"
"Of course not! We were just concerned that -"
"We were worried about you Ginny! You have to understand that right?"
"No Harry! I don't understand!"
Astoria felt her throat begin to close, "Guys -"
"Ginny -"
"No! I won't listen to your reason because there is none! You were just being judgemental!" Ginny shouted, cutting both Astoria and Hannah off, "It was pure hatred for Slytherins that worried you!"
"Maybe you're right!" Harry yelled, "Maybe it was hatred that caused us to do this! But either way, we regret it and have apologised multiple times!"
"You can't be seri -"
"GUYS!!!!" Astoria shouted over the top of them, "This isn't getting us anywhere! Ginny, they apologised, and I understand their concern. I forgive them, can't you?"
Ginny folded her arms and glared at Harry and Hannah. Finally, she let out an aggitated sigh.
"Okay fine," she said, "I forgive you. But only if you tell no one."
Hannah and Harry nodded before leaving, thinking if they stayed any longer she'd take it back.
Ginny turned back to the brunette with a narrowed gaze only to be met with a shy smile that she couldn't help but smile back to. The sun was setting, splashing the room and the girls with a golden haze, shining brightly in the Slytherins eyes. Ginny placed a kiss on the girls cheek before taking her hand and leading her down the stairs. Being that they were prefects, they could stay out a little later, but they were tired and wanted sleep.
Ginny walked Astoria to the dungeons, placing another kiss on her forehead before leaving and going to her dormitory. She was happy but sad at the same time. She was happy Astoria had entrusted her with her darkest secret, but she was sad because of what it was. She's going to die in about two years, Ginny thought, She must feel so useless. Ginny was lost in thought and almost walked right into the portrait.
"'Fiddlesnuffers'."
The portrait moved to allow her entrance and she was met with a hug from Hermione and Ron.
"We were worried sick that something had happened to you Gin!" Ron exclaimed.
"Harry wouldn't say anything about where you were," Hermione stated matter-of-factly, "Quite concerning really."
Ginny looked over to Harry before smiling and mouthing a thank you.
"So," Neville chimed in, "where were you?"
"Nowhere important," Ginny said.
Neville smiled, "I think I can guess," he mouthed Astoria, "Luna told me."
"You were with Luna?" Hermione enquired.
"Sure," Ginny answered, "we'll go with that."
"What do you mean by that?" Ron asked, "Hey, answer me!"
But Ginny had already gotten to her dormitory.

Astoria woke up the next day with a pounding head ache. She got up and stumbled into the bathroom before throwing up into the sink. Great, she thought, a migraine. Astoria was no stranger to migraines, having faced them a lot in her sixteen years of living. She sat down on the floor to rest a bit before getting back up. The pain seared, feeling as though someone had stabbed her in the left eye.
Why do migraines have to hurt so damn much? Astoria pulled herself to her feet and crawled back into bed, not really feeling like leaving when her head felt like it could explode. She was, quite frankly, surprised it didn't. She had been laying in bed all day, until eventually one of her dormmates came in.
"Hey Astoria," Aquaria started quietly, "how are you?"
"Bleh," Astoria said, poking her tongue out as she did.
"You feel bleh? Um, the Weasley girl came to visit, Daphne let her in. She's in the common room currently. Do you want us to bring her up here?"
"Yes please..."
Aquaria nodded before leaving. Astoria closed her eyes and slowed her breathing, fully aware the pain in her head would only get worse the faster she breathed. Astoria opened her eyes when she felt someone caress her cheek, moving her brunette hair out of her face and tucking it behind her ear. She hummed groggily at the touch and looked into the sapphire eyes boring into her.
"Hey," Ginny said softly, "You don't look so hot."
Astoria chuckled, "Get used to it."
Ginny smiled sadly, "Okay, move over. I'm sleeping with you tonight."
Astoria shuffled over and Ginny climbed in next to the sixth year. Ginny wrapped her arms around Astoria's shoulder's, bringing her close so that Astoria's head rested on her chest, and Ginny's head rested on hers'. Astoria wrapped her arms around the Gryffindors waist, nuzzling into her touch. Ginny moved her hand and began tracing shapes onto the Greengrass's arm, planting a kiss on her head.
Astoria yawned and began falling asleep in the red heads arms.
"Warning," Astoria said lazily, "I've been waking up all day to vomit, so I would be a bit careful."
"I know," Ginny whispered into the brunette hair, "I've had maybe one or two migraines myself."
Astoria smiled before sleep embraced her, and Ginny was left there to just look at her beautiful girlfriend. I promise I'll cherish every moment I have with you.
-----------------------
AAHHH!!! I feel so mushy!! Side note; I've also experienced really bad migraines so I'm going to explain them a bit. If you get a head ache it does not a mean it's a migraine. Migraines are head aches so bad you throw up from pain and some have to take medication.
I once experienced one where I couldn't even keep medicine down and had to go to the doctors. I was in tears, debating stabbing myself because it was so bad. It lasted for a little over twelve hours. So if you've got a simple head ache, don't say it's horrible because you haven't experienced horrible until you're curled up in a ball; crying in pain. Thank you!
