Chapter Three - The Journey to Hogwarts

Hi again... still no one reading this... I'm gonna continue writing it but... I might stop if no one likes it... I'm really not talking to anyone so I don't see the point in writing these A/N anyway... just, yeah...

---------------------------------

About a week had passed and all the students were getting ready to board the red steam engine. Ginny had managed to push Astoria out of her mind for the most part, but every now and then she'd sneak back into her mind. It didn't help that she saw her name on the list for prefects. Ginny was going to be Prefect along with Neville Longbottom. Ron was going to be Head Boy which did take her mind off of her worries but didn't help fully.

Ginny, Harry, Ron and Hermione were currently sitting in a compartment by themselves. Hermione had a book and was sitting in Ron's lap as she read. Harry sat next to the lovebirds thinking about a certain Hufflepuff by the name of Hannah Abbott. Ginny was on the opposite side of the compartment flipping through her schoolbook. Hermione really has rubbed off on me, she thought to herself.

Of course, when the door slid open Ginny looked into the chocolate eyes of none other than Astoria Greengrass. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she was already wearing the green robes associated with Slytherin. She really was a beautiful girl, Ginny really didn't know how she could've missed her in the halls. Astoria walked in rather shyly and took a seat next to Ginny.

"Everywhere else is full," she commented.

"Oh, what about your friends in Slytherin?" Harry asked.

"There wasn't enough room in the compartment so a few of us had to go somewhere else. Do you mind."

"Of course not," Hermione intervened. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Hermione Granger."

"Astoria Greengrass."

"How's the rest of your Death-Eater gang," Ron said sarcastically.

"Not so good actually. They've lost a lot. And you can't blame them when you didn't know what was at stake!"

"I would've died. They're just cowards that cared more about themselves!"

"Oh really, tell me what would you've done if they threatened to kill your family!"

"Oh so now they threatened their families! Last time I checked it was their own lives on the line!"

"Rubbish! You don't even know them!"

Ron and Astoria continued to argue while Ginny, Hermione and Harry sat there just wishing they'd shut up. Astoria and Ron both had good points, but one would have to admit, Astoria's were better. She was right about everything, they didn't know them, they weren't aware of the consequences and had no idea what they'd gone through. Of course, Ron did have a few good points as they had said their own lives were on the line.

The argument however didn't end until a certain Slytherin girl by the name of Pansy Parkinson walked in. She tapped Astoria on the shoulder and whispered something in her ear only she could hear. Whatever it was must've been important because the younger girl had a sudden look of worry on her face. They dashed out of the compartment in a hurry and Ron looked triumphant.

"What do you think that was about?" Hermione asked accusingly.

"I don't know..." Harry replied.

So that's the end of chapter three. I know, cliffhanger I'm so evil! I know it's a short chapter but I needed to write something along these lines. I might improve it in future, but for now this is it. Thank you!
