Chapter Four - Howlers
Hi...
----------------------------
After Pansy came into the compartment she whispered something in Astoria's ear. It's a howler, was all she said to get the brunette to understand. You see the Slytherins' parents were all very strange when it came to caring for their children. The howlers they sent were quite brutal as they had hexed them.
It didn't come as a shock when she saw Draco huddled up on the floor. It was a lucky thing he wasn't in his robes yet because they would've been blood stained. It appeared the hex on the howler was stronger than any other times. The other Slytherins in the compartment were huddled around the quivering body scared.
"What happened?" Astoria didn't fully understand but knew it was a howler.
"The howler was worse than anything the rest of us have ever gotten," Theodore answered. "Looks like Lucius figured how he could throw spells at Draco through the howler."
"It was truly horrifying to watch," Millicent sounded terrified.
"Even hit Blaise when he tried to defend Draco," Pansy chimed in.
"Man," Blaise started, "if that was only a portion of what Draco felt, I think he'd never want to go home."
"I heard the card say crucio..." Crabbe was crying.
"Why do you need me?" Astoria finally asked.
"Well, we know you're good with healing magic and concealment charms..." Theodore trailed off.
"Do you think you could, you know?" Pansy asked.
"He needs space," the younger Slytherin replied.
She muttered a spell under her breathe and the others proceeded to watch in awe. They knew she was good, but they didn't know she was that good. Who else has she helped, they all asked themselves. They watched the bruises on his arms fade and the cuts he obtained close. They would leave a small scar but the damage was minimised.
When she was done she placed a concealment charm on the bigger cuts. Draco started to get up still shaking, but Millicent wouldn't let him do too much as she sat him by the window so he could rest. Daphne soon after appeared in the doorway with a worried expression. She sat down with her boyfriend and started comfort him.
Theodore and Astoria then left to go to compartments that weren't full. Astoria brought him to the compartment she was originally in and they were welcomed by accusing glares. Ginny didn't understand why until she saw the blood on their clothes. And, if looks could kill, the two newcomers would've died because of the look on Ron's face alone.
"Whose blood?" Harry asked sternly.
"I'm sorry but I don't have permission to tell you," Theodore answered.
"Who'd you beat?" Ron was positive they hurt someone.
"That's a rather gruesome assumption," Astoria was offended. "And for your information we weren't the ones beating them. We helped."
"Sure you did. And I'm Dumbledore." (The theory is true! Nah, it's not. It's a really weird theory.)
"Believe what you will," Theodore was about to poke wholes in their argument, "why would we send Pansy to come and get Astoria if we were beating a kid? I'm pretty sure she had a look of worry when she arrived as well, and I think she would've had that expression here too."
"W-Well -"
"I think we should go somewhere with less accusatory people," Astoria piped up.
"I agree," Theodore stood in the doorway while Astoria gathered her bags. "Let's go."

During the feast Astoria was talking to the other Slytherins and they all shot a glare at four specific Gryffindors. Ginny and Hermione understood that what they had done was wrong, Harry thought about the events on the train while Ron shot a glare back. Hermione looked over to see that Draco and Blaise were quite tired. Had they been the injured people, she asked herself.
Ginny was talking to Neville about school work when a Hufflepuff turned to talk to the Gryffindors. It was the blonde known as Hannah Abbott that Harry had formed a crush on. She asked to meet him after the feast and Harry agreed. He was never any good with girls and Cho was proof of that. He had dated Ginny for a bit but they ended things agreeing that they weren't right for each other.
"Someone's got a date," Ron joked.
"It's not a date!" It almost hurt Harry to say that, "It's a casual meeting between friends."
"Sure it is," Hermione smirked, "and I'll fail every test this year."
"Ron's rubbing off on you."
"You say that like it's a bad thing to be like me," Ron was hurt.
"That's 'cause it is," Ginny spoke up.
Ron glared at his younger sister and they all headed off once the feast was over. Of course Harry stayed behind to meet Hannah. The eighth years had their own dorm so Ginny looked for some of her friends in her year while Hermione went to talk to the Slytherins. The first one she found was Blaise.
"Hey, I'm sorry about what Ron and Harry said to Nott and Greengrass," She apologised.
"While I appreciate the apology I can't except it," Blaise started. "I'm not who you should apologise to, nor are you the one who should apologise. Send Ron and Harry their way and maybe it'll be better."
"Hey! Whose blood was it on their robes? Was it yours' and Draco's?"
"That's none of your business," Blaise had tensed at the mention of what happened but nonetheless kept the events secret.
Hermione was left there to hope Harry and Ron would come to their senses and apologise. But, she had noticed Blaise go tense at the mention of the blood. It was their's. But why..?
