Okay guys! So i named one of my characters Jasper and i kept it while i wrote this chapter. I had written the whole thing before i was told one of the vampires in twilight is named Jasper. I immediately wanted to change the name but, i had already fallen in love with it! So, I'm telling you now, i did not name him after twilight! It was a mistake! I do not watch/read twilight and never will! Please do not take the name to heart!

We stood in a large room full of probably fifty people, furnished with old couches and tables. He leaned over and whispered in my ear. "Don't talk."

He pulled me past everyone as if nothing was wrong. I saw a few guys look at me with a grins and i shivered. He walked up to a door with a man standing in front of it. "Excuse us, but can you move out of the way? We need to get past." He said.

The guy turned from his conversation with a lady and looked down at him. He smirked. "Jasper? I didn't think you were that type."

The boy shrugged, a small smile covering his face. "I like mine fresh."

I raised an eyebrow. Was i about to get raped? Was this a trick to get me alone? Maybe i shouldn't be so willing.

I wanted to open my mouth and ask what was going on, yank my wrist away but, it was like i was a robot. I couldn't do anything except stand quietly.

"Well, you always were one to surprise. Tell me how it goes later. For now, i have this little angel to attend to." He leaned over to the lady and pecked her on the cheek. She giggled as he tickled her neck by breathing out through his nose.

I nearly gaged.

Gross.

The boy, Jasper, nodded with grin. "Sure thing."

He pulled me past the guy and through another door. We walked down a hallway with alot of different doors. Then we entered a stairway and went up four floors. From there we went back to hallways with lots of doors.

When we got to the end of the hall he took me inside one of the rooms. When the door was completely shut he released me. I immediately snapped out of whatever trance had held my attention. I rubbed my wrist with a scowl. "Where are we?" I asked, annoyance in my voice.

He only glanced at me before going to the small dresser and pulling out a book. Walking back to me, he held it out. "Here."

I took it and frowned. "You didn't answer my question and what's this?"

"The book you should have read starting in first grade." I noticed he still didn't answer my question.

I flipped through the pages. There was some interesting stuff but, i didn't believe a word of it. "Okay?"

He shrugged. "Your parents broke some major rules not having you read this."

"What rules. I have no idea what you're talking about."

We had a staring contest for about a minute until he broke contact with a sigh. "Okay, then tell me what you do know."

"I was assaulted in an alley on the way home from the library and now everywhere i go I'm getting told I'm a vampire. Considering the style of the assault it's very convincing. Very convincing but, a very convincing lie."

He bit his lip. "That makes.... no sense."

"No. It makes perfect sense. It is a very big joke. It was a good try but, I'm not falling for it." I crossed my arms.

He shook his head, looking baffled. "Why do you think it's a joke?"

"Okay. Explain everything you know."

He went into a whole big thing about vampires and such. He said vampires are born and they are schooled by their parents to hunt and find blood sources from a young age. They each have different kinds of abilities they use to get what they need. Speed, strength, mind, wisdom, and very rarely the ability to change in to different creatures.

"So, what's your ability?"

"Mind. I can use my mind to control anyone i want. Granted, I'm still one of the younger of my kind so i have less control and strength than others but, I'm getting better. I can do alot for my age."

"Is that why i couldn't talk earlier?"

"Yeah. I can't control people's actions without touching them that's why i was holding your wrist."

I was quiet for a minute. Then i asked, "Pretending this is all true, you could tell i was a vampire but, that guy and the other people in that room couldn't?"

He smiled. "That's what I'm best at. I can control what people see without any contact whatsoever. Multiple people too."

"Still pretending this is true, you made him think i was human?"

He nodded. "He thinks i brought you here to feed from."

"But, wouldn't that make it more dangerous for me? If everyone thinks I'm a human and they're all vampires they would all want to.... um?" I tried to think of the right word.

"Feed from you?"

I nodded.

He shook his head. "No. Vampires are very territorial and know to respect others things. With me holding your wrist it was obvious you were mine."

I frowned. "Excuse me. I do not belong to you."

His eyes widened. "Sorry! That's not what i meant. I meant it looked like you were mine and so they knew to leave you alone."

"Okay? But, wouldn't it have been easier to let them believe i was a vampire? Someone like them?"

He frowned at the last sentence, probably taking it as an insult but, said nothing. "Like i said before, vampires are very territorial. They wouldn't like a new comer showing up in their territory. They would, most likely, challenge you to fight."

I nodded, still trying my best to actually believe all this. "Hold on. If one of the abilities is strength and you're a mind one why were so you strong earlier? Do you have two?"

He shook his head. "No. All vampires are stronger, smarter, and faster compared to humans and but, the ones who have those abilities are even more so."

"Oh. So, what's my ability?"

He looked me up and down. "I don't know. We'd have to test you and see."

"Test me?"

He grinned. "Meet me here after dark. I'll be waiting by the door."
