Sonic arrived at the foot of the aerial.

- You could have made it more 'attractive', it's really ugly.

The ninjas suddenly teleported in from his right.

- Thanks for waiting for us,' the silver one sarcastically remarked.

- Scuse.

The ninja sighed.

- You know, she's usually more beautiful,' said the Golden Ninja as if he'd read her mind. She's usually bright, always. And it's not electric lighting. That's because it's the source of its powers. It even glows in the daytime normally.

- Oh, well. But I've got a question. The supervillain or supervillains who did this must have come here to do this, right?

- Mmh, yes, that's true,' muttered the silver-haired man thoughtfully. Either it was a superhero who betrayed us OR IT WAS YOU.

- Uh, what?' cried the hedgehog, flabbergasted.

- As luck would have it, that's what happens when you turn up.

- Do you think he'd dare mess with us?' defended the golden one. We're two of the most powerful superheroes in the world!

- Yeah, you're probably right...

- Hey, I've got the impression that you're the little brother in this story.

- No, I'm being mature and I have my reasons for being suspicious of him!

- Well, if we distrusted everyone, we wouldn't get very far in life!

- OK, stop there please!' intervened Sonic.

They immediately got serious again.

- Well, we have a hypothesis,' began the Silver Ninja. Someone, or something, must have sucked the energy that gives superheroes their powers. This person or thing must be very powerful. It probably broke in here too.

- That's why our President warns his superheroes,' added his brother, 'and prepares them while there's still time.

- So where's the power energy?' asked Sonic.

- It's probably been transferred to something strong enough to contain it,' replied the silver one.

- Ah, okay, so the bad guys have ALL the powers of the good guys.

- Yes, they do. But that's not the most dangerous part of the story. It's the fact that the supervillains can access our world if they want to. They could get rid of most of us if they wanted to.

- So why don't they come?

- They must be getting ready to come and fight us.

- But it's no use, no-one has any powers here apart from the three of us!

- Yeah, it's really weird that you still have yours,' intervened the Silver Ninja, looking on.

Sonic couldn't answer, interrupted by a commotion. A large mass of people came through various red portals a hundred metres away.

- Oh, well, that's them I suppose,' he sighed.

The ninjas didn't answer him, as they went straight to the attack.

- Hey, I'm the first one to run into the pile! protested the hedgehog as he charged forward.

There were a lot of them. Maybe a hundred. Three against a hundred.

Hey! But I know that's impossible! I've got an idea...

More supervillains were coming out of those red portals. He ran towards one of the portals as a villain came out. As the portal began to form, he managed to enter it and then appeared in another world where super-villains were pouring in.

- Ah, this must be their world! he thought aloud.

He went and hid behind a ben and watched as the last of the villains entered the world of their opponents.

- Wow, I feel like I'm dreaming! Well, their bloody hero powers must be...

He paused as he heard a noise behind him. He turned round and saw a young human dressed extravagantly with red eyes.

- Hey, looking at you I feel like I'm in a failed superhero film! You're a cliché of a villain all on your own.

- Are you a superhero?' asked the villain, flashing a flame in his hand and looking menacing.

- Cliiiiichéééé! exclaimed Sonic, looking at his flame, not very impressed. And, yes, I suppose you could say that.

The human-villain then sent his flame towards the hedgehog's head, who ducked in time, so it was the hedgehog who caught the flame. He then moved a little further away from the flaming ben.

- How did you get here?' asked the villain, bursting into (literal) flames.

- Well, I ran into a portal,' he replied simply. With my powers. But you won't tell anyone about that, will you?

The guy advanced towards him, threatening. Sonic couldn't touch him, unless he wanted to end up a fried hedgehog. Then he had an idea. He began to run around the human, trying to douse his flames with the wind he would create. But suddenly he felt a stinging pain in his arm. He stopped running and winced. The villain had managed to hit him: he had a burn on his forearm.

- Ouch!' said the hedgehog indignantly. You'll pay for that!

He ran away from where they were hiding to gain momentum. It didn't matter if anyone saw him. He then ran towards where the bad guy was, trying to 'electrify' himself as much as possible. The guy had let his guard down and was no longer on fire. Sonic slammed into him, hands outstretched in front of him. They fell, Sonic on top, the other underneath. He held the guy underneath him, while the latter was being 'electrocuted'. He stopped when the villain stopped moving. The hedgehog slowly got to his feet.

- Ooh, that shook!' he exclaimed.

He turned back to the unconscious man and checked his pulse. He shivered.

- Ah...

He's dead! It's the first time I've... killed someone. It's all right, Sonic, it was him or you. And what's more, he won't be missed...

He backed away slowly and ended up walking away quickly. He then started walking at a brisk pace.

- All right, Sonic,' he murmured. You just need to find the heroes' superpowers and avoid getting killed by the villains. Simple! ...
