We've got maids?

He woke up the next morning to have the house in complete disarray. Marcus throughout was throwing a temper as Sapphrina for her engagement with Peter Darwin but the old Witch wasn’t even giving a damn and was completely ignoring him making him even more pissed.

Again, Miguel didn’t want to get involved with his brother this early in the morning so he quickly snuck out with Ian then went to visit Christophe. His Vampire had been burnt to dust so he should be feeling a bit weak because when a Vampire makes his clan, the leader becomes stronger with the increase of it. The more Vampires in your clan, the stronger you are. If one should die somewhere, they’ll feel it and that’s exactly what woke him up. They were all his Vampires but the reason he wasn’t feeling weak was because he already owned their soul and can raise their body or spirit up if he wanted.

They turned up at Christophe’s house in California, very far away from where they lived in Australia. Ian knocked while Miguel checked out his dark blue Ford, Daniel. He had cost a lot but Marcus was dumb enough to lend him his Visa card when he lied that he wanted to pay for a romantic trip for Tamisha and him. What? Stolen things are the sweetest things to have. Too bad Marcus didn’t even noticed. He owned a Publishing company and he had a lot of authors there. His girlfriend included.

“Miguel.” Ian called a minute later and he slowly left his baby. Dear gods, if Tamisha knew he was cheating on her with Daniel, he had no idea what she’ll do.

Christophe looked freaking white and with the way his hair fell helplessly to his face made him look even more depressed. Ian gave him a shaky smile, “Hey, came to check on you.”

“Come in.” he said dryly. He didn’t even acknowledge Miguel and that was disrespectful but he was going to let it slid now. Next time, he might not be this lenient.

They entered and Christophe locked the door after them. His house wasn’t exactly extravagant but it would suit an unmated man. Miguel and Ian sat on the couch as Christophe came up to them, “I should go get drinks for you.”

“Oh no we are fine. We just wanted to see how you're doing.” Ian said nicely.

“Okay then.” He sat on the arm chair then picked up a bottle and poured himself a drink, “So, I heard your mum’s going to be married to Peter.”

“You came for the Anniversary?”

“No, Kellen did. He’s the Vampire that lives with Me.” he took a swing from his drink. “I was too bummed to move from my bed. So, you and your brother gonna change your last name? Been bugging me.”

“Peter and Sapphrina are getting married and that’s all that matters to you?” Ian gapped at the man but what he said actually made sense to Miguel.

Miguel Bernard was his name. It was his identity. If anyone mentioned The Benards, they were referring to Micheal, Sapphrina and him. The family of psychos. He was proud to be one of them. They were like Hitler but just well-known to the Supernatural and the people who study it.

“I don’t think I am going to change it.” he said at last.

Ian looked at him, “Why?”

“When I said I wanted to change, I didn’t mean everything. Being a Bernard has its infamous reputation and I like it. Besides, I am saving the rest of my speech for Peter when I nicely reject it.”

“You don’t do things nicely.” Ian deadpanned.

“Well, let’s just pray Tamisha treats me well.” He smiled at then then caught a whiff of whatever Christophe was drinking then frowned, “Is that Alcohol?”

“Yeah. You want?”

“You drink?” He asked, completely surprised. When a Vampire is depressed and he drinks…just know it’s not a good combo.

“Yeah. Some times.” He laughed awkwardly but stopped when he saw Miguel wasn’t joking. “What?”

“Ian take the bottle from him.” He ordered and Christophe just stared surprisingly at Miguel as Ian quickly did that.

“What are you doing?”

“Pretty much saving you. A depressed Vampire shouldn’t drink. It only makes you more depressed and since you are unmated, you are gonna go blood high. And when I say blood high, I meant enough blood to make you blood drunk.” He said standing up and he could see the shame on Christophe’s face.

“And the blood bank is very far from here.” He said, slowly understanding the issue.

“Exactly. Ian search the house to see if you can find anymore alcohol.”

“Sure.”

“You remind me of my dad.” Christophe said, shifting awkwardly in his seat.

“I did make you. I take care of my kind because that is what I should do.” Miguel came up to him and took his hand in his. He extended his index nail into a claw then pricked his Vampire’s skin, drawing blood.

“What are you doing?” he said, his tone wary but he didn’t dare struggle.

“Marking you.” He replied, staining the finger with the blood then letting go of his arm to rub the blood on his wrist, pricking his own skin in the process so it will be mixed. “If something bad happens to you, I’ll know.”

“Uh thanks?” he replied, rubbing where he was pricked that had healed.

“Yes, I know. Awkward. Ian, you done yet?” Ian came out with four more drinks with him then nodded, “Take it to the car-” Miguel got cut off by his phone ringing and he found a smirk coming on when he saw the caller ID. “Marcus baby, how are you?”

“Where the fuck are you?” his grumpy voice came from the receiver.

“Watch your tongue with me mister.” He replied, getting out of the house after waving Christophe off.

“Okay, where are you?” he sounded really irritated.

“Good boy. I came to visit Christophe. Anything?”

“Oh good. Send those Vampires over. The ones they arrested.”

Miguel stopped walking and just stared at Daniel, “They are not going to your dungeon, are they?”

“No, Miguel.” He could already imagine Marcus rolling his eyes. “I want them to come work for me as servants or maids. Jenna’s not in the mood and it’s like Felicia went on a vacation.”

“You gonna pay them?”

“It’s their punishment for killing those people. Get them here quickly, I need my hall clean at least.”

“And if I said no?”

“They could go for torturing for a month or so.”

“You can be frustrating.” Miguel groaned then hung up before Marcus could be more annoying. He grumbled inaudible words as he walked back to the house to knock.

“You are still here?” Christophe asked and Miguel gave him a halfhearted smile.

“I’m sorry but my brother is being a bitch right now so I’ll need to take those convicted Vampires off your hands. They’ll return to you in due time.”

Christophe’s shoulders dropped, “What? Why?”

“No questions Chris.” Miguel stared blankly at him.

Christophe released a deep breath then shouted, “Jennifer! Johnny!”

There was noise coming from up the stairs and then soon, a red haired girl came down the stairs with brown haired boy. They came to the door and greeted the both men. Christophe turned to them and said, “Pack up. Miguel’s going to take you away.”

“I am not taking them away. Don’t twist my words. You can come see them in the mansion but call first.”

“Just go.” He made a gesture with his hand to the new borns then went back into his house.

Jennifer looked back at him with some kind of unreadable expression and said, “Should we get our things.”

“Oh no it’s fine. You’ll find something there to wear, just get in the car.” Miguel motioned for them to get to the car and they quietly did.

Oh, Marcus should better pay me for this.

Marcus paced his hall, irritated beyond belief by the dirt on the floor. In fact, everything was pissing him off. When his mum had announced her engagement he had been downright pissed and to not ruin the party everyone had put together, he went out to take a breather. He would have changed to some beast to fly around the city to relieve stress but he didn’t want to ruin his suit to he Summoned Ferno. A fire dragon. The dragon his mum had used.

From its giant mouth, Ferno breathes fire that was as hot as a volcano lava. His huge teeth can crush boulder in seconds. The thick dragon scales that cover his body cannot be pierced by any blade. Ferno was so enormous, he is often mistaken as a mountain.

And if there was anything he liked about that dragon other than its sadistic sense of humor, it was its wise mind. The beast had helped him calm down and taken him on an exhilarated ride. Marcus had completely forgotten about the stress he had back at the mansion and thought back to when he had taken Jenna on a ride on this same beast. She had been completely speechless and her expression was priceless. He loved everything about that woman.

Then he got back to see the house in a mess. Miguel and Tamisha’s room were locked and he knew what they were up to because that’s the only time their door was locked. Felicia wasn’t responding and Jenna was crashing in one of the empty room. He knew they would be tired in the morning so he thought he could clean it up. He cleaned the hallways and a few rooms and just that had drained him.

God, Felicia must be some mighty Witch to take care of the house.

Now he was just staring at the hall room. The pool outside was still dirty.

Marcus groaned but quickly perked up when he heard Miguel’s voice. His brother entered the room with Ian and two others who froze at the sight of the hall.

“Thank god. I wanted to faint just cleaning up the rooms.” Marcus said as he walked over to them.

The two strangers who Marcus assumed was Jennifer and Johnny bowed their heads making pause in front of them. When people did this to him it always made him feel awkward. The whole flamboyant leader wasn’t his thing. It was Miguel’s and like what he did all those times, he fell into an awkward silence.

Miguel smirked at him then cleared his throat and said, “Jennifer, Johnny, stop bowing.” When they stood up straight he continued, “Didn’t I tell you, you don’t have to wait for an okay before you stop. Now you just made the poor guy feel awkward.”

“Shut up, Miguel.” He glared at him. That man didn’t know when to shut up. He looked back at the vampires and said, “I didn’t ask you here to stare at me, get this place clean.”

Jennifer’s eyes widened, “Just us?”

“Can’t a couple of Vampires handle this?” Marcus rose a brow at them. “Because if you can’t you’ll just have to stay in the dungeon for a week.”

The Vampires gasped and Miguel said, “I thought it was torture one month.”

The rest Vampires looked at Miguel like he would actually say that.

Marcus shrugged, “They get to pick. So choose.”

Jennifer huffed then said, “I’ll clean it up.”

“Clean up.” The boy replied hushly.

“Good.” Marcus said then snapped and with that, Jennifer and Johnny’s outfit changed. Jennifer wore a knee-length skirt, a black sleeved shirt and an apron over it while Johnny wore black fitted pants, a white sleeved shirt with a black over all. “There.”

Miguel stared at it then back at Marcus with an unamused stare, “She looks like the fucking virgin Mary.”

“I don’t think Jesus would be happy to hear that.”

“Ever meant the guy?”

“Would have if I didn’t miss the meeting.” Marcus glared at him.

His brother scoffed then looked back at Jennifer who was frowning at what she was wearing. Miguel snapped then made the skirt shorter and the shirt tighter and honestly more stylish. “Better.” He grinned at his work then looked at Marcus, “See, better.”

“I am not in the mood to argue with you.” Marcus rolled his eyes then looked out the door just as Jenna was entering. She probably just woke up because her long wavy black hair was scrappy and she was still wearing that really hot silver gown. “Jenna!” he smiled at her when she looked at him.

“Hey.” She greeted tiredly then said when she saw Jennifer and Johnny, “We’ve got maids? That’s good, I can finally take a break from all the cleaning.”

“Good err afternoon Miss Jenna.” The two Vampires greeted with a short bow.

Miguel grinned, “Excellent. That’s how you greet.”

Jenna stared at them as if assessing them then turned to her boyfriend, “Marcus, they are only two. Vampires fine but they can’t clean everywhere.”

“Miguel and I will go find more but first, while I was out tending to my problems, how did this,” He pointed at the mess, “Happen?”

She hummed with her bright crystal gray eyes closed, hugging herself before answering, “We had an after party.”

“What?” he asked completely baffled. Who does an after party and doesn’t clean up? If you haven’t noticed, he was a clean freak.

She looked up at him, “I’ll clean it up. After a nap or two.”

Marcus huffed. After a nap or two? Jenna, I love you and all but you are annoying.  He knew Jenna read that off his mind because he felt it and her cocky smirk confirmed it. He crossed his arms then said to his new servants, “There are trash bags in the kitchen. Jenna will show you where that is. I want this place cleaned up by the time I get back. Ian, you supervise.”

Ian looked to Miguel for permission and when Miguel replied with a nod he answered Marcus, “Sure. But if we need to cover more ground, we need more people.”

“I agree.” Jennifer and Johnny said in unison.

“Well, that’s where Miguel and I are heading now.” He turned back to Jenna, “Give me a visual of the people at the party.”

“Why not get a list?” Miguel questioned.

“She might not be able to remember them all. Can’t you see she’s got a hangover?”

“Then heal it, butter fingers.”

“If I do that she’ll just go ahead and throw another party thinking her dear Marcus will fix her headache.”

“But you would, won’t you?” he argued back.

“This time, no.” he glanced back at her to see her glaring at him. He glared back, “What?”

“Ian,” she called, not even looking at the man, “take the servants to the kitchen to get the bags. I am no longer helping him clean this shit.” She added throughout keeping eye contact with him.

Ian wisely used the time they were glaring at each other to move. When the couple got angry, they weren’t the ones hurt but the idiots dumb enough to still be there.

Miguel whistled, “Well, someone is mad.”

Marcus ignored him as he stared at Jenna like she’d gone mad. “Why in hell are you angry?”

“Why the fuck were you referring to me like I ain’t here?”

“Well forgive me if I am irritated by what I am seeing here. You know I hate places that look like fuck.”

“And I told you I was gonna fucking clean it up.” Her grey eyes changed to gold at she talked and that meant a spell was coming.

“Then fucking clean it. I don’t want any more partying in this house. Except anniversaries.” He ordered.

Jenna narrowed her eyes at him, probably thinking of many ways to torture him but fucked that she couldn’t. Then she smirked, her eyes changing back to the original color. “Too bad then. Sapphrina wants her engagement party here. And Tamisha’s birthday’s coming up.”

Miguel who was silently enjoying the fight like he always did perked up when he heard Tamisha’s name. “Her birthday’s when again?”

“How could you forget?” The couple said at the same time.

“Slipped my mind.” He started to whisper because he knew Tamisha was till home.

“28th of this month.” Jenna whispered back.

Vampires can hear well. Vampire diaries wasn’t joking.

“Thanks.” Miguel replied.

She grinned, “No problem. Want help planning? I can get my brother’s girlfriend here.”

Marcus finally snapped, “Okay. You know what? Come here.” he pulled her closer to me then pressed his thumb to her forehead while the other fingers cupped her neck. He dived into her memory before she could start talking or struggling and break the connection he just built.

The memory was going backwards since it started from when Jenna stood up an empty bed and she walked backward towards the crowd. Marcus caught some faces he recognized well and when he could pick out a handful he pulled away immediately before Jenna did something annoying again.

“Got what you want assfuck?” She snarled then pulled away from him.

“As much as I would love to sit here and listen to you insult me, I’ve got things to do.” He replied calmly, ruffling her hair only to get his hands slapped away. Marcus smirked then rolled his eye. “If you want I could spend tomorrow with you.”

“You have to go to work.” She stared at him cautiously.

“I can miss a day if it’s for you.” He smiled then kissed her on her forehead. It has been his own way of saying he loved her since they started dating.

She sighed, raising her eyes up to meet his, “Just kiss me already.”

Marcus grinned, leaning in to kiss her. It was a short passionate kiss but it meant a lot in their relationship. He pulled her to him then rubbed his nose to hers making her chuckle.

“Tomorrow?” she asked, her eyes watched his lips then met his eyes.

“Of course.” He said then kissed those soft lips again slowly then pulled away before it became something he could not stop. He winked at her before teleporting to where Miguel had run off to.

He was in the parking lot, admiring his Daniel like he did every time he wasn’t with Tamisha. And like the tough Vampire he was, he quickly twirled to face him with an awkward grin on his face.

“What?”

“It’s nothing.” He waved it away like it wasn’t relevant.

Marcus knew his brother didn’t know how to keep his mouth shut so he just patiently waited for him to blow.

Wait for it.

Wait for it…

“Okay, while you and Jenna were in there sucking faces, I thought of the best idea yet for Tamisha’s birthday.”

Told you.

“And is Daniel involved in it?” Referring to the car.

“Are you kidding me? Of course. I won’t tell you the detail so…”

Marcus cut him off, “As long as The Parks don’t get anywhere near that mansion, I am fine. Let’s go.” He held his brother then teleported to the god of narcissists’ casino.
