For you idiot.

Hunger.

Blood.

More Blood.

That was all he wanted. Any blood to quench the undying hunger that was giving him a headache. But every time he passed a human, the smell of their blood disgusted him.

What? Why?

He had no idea. He knew where he was but he had no idea how he got there. Sighing under his breath, he took the familiar route back to his house, stopping once in a while to cough out the blood clogging his throat. He couldn’t remember a thing after they said he was to die. He had been knocked out and when he woke up, he found himself here. On the streets.

Obviously, there was something wrong but he was yet to find out. Spencer Lass walked up the porch of his house then knocked. He could already smell the fresh blood in side and it was making his stomach grumble. This was really a new side of hunger.

Christophe opened the door, looking alert as always but when he saw Spencer he froze. “Spencer, is that you?”

But Spencer wasn’t listening, He was just listening to the blood pumping in his master’s vein. It smelt so amazing, alluring.

“Can you hear me Spence?” Christophe tried again, slowly touching his shoulder.

Spencer, white as sheet, looked up at his master, “I am hungry.”

From the look on his Master’s face, he could see that he was both Shocked and alarmed. He was supposed to be dead but if he wasn’t, who was?

“Come in.” Christophe pulled him in then took him to the kitchen. He left him to sit down while he got a blood bag from the fridge. He tossed it at him then sat in front of him. Watching him intensely. “How are you alive?”

“I don’t know.” Spence poked the blood then scrunched his nose in distaste.

“If you didn’t die then one of my Vampire’s is dead.”

He nodded, playing with the bag. “Where’s Jenny and John?”

Christophe exhaled, “Marcus called them to his house to be slaves or whatever.”

Spence sat up when he heard that, pushing the blood away, “What? Why?”

“Because he asked.” He shrugged, probably feeling defeated.

“Well, we’ve got to get them out. They can’t stay there. They can’t be slaves. It wasn’t their fault.”

“Spence, tell me what happened? All Kellan told me was that he had to take a leak so he left and when he was out you were all gone.” He leaned forward to stare at him with those judging eyes, “You are obviously the leader if Kellan is not with them. So tell me, what happened?”

Spence creased his forehead in concentration, “We were waiting outside when six people started firing at us. Apparently, our instinct was to run but they cornered us. They first shot Johnny in the leg and that was when Kellan came to help us. I…uh…I can’t remember from there though.”

“What do you mean you can’t remember? You wrote a statement. And Kellan said he was never involved.” His eyes became pleading, “You’ve got to help me here. I lost a Vampire this morning and now that I know it’s not you, who is dead?”

“Have you seen Kellen since?” he asked.

Christophe stayed fixed on his seat. He couldn’t move. “Was it him?”

“The both of us are here, two are with Marcus. Kellan’s left out.” Spencer explained slowly.

He got out his phone and said, “I should call him.” He did that and a few seconds later, Kellan’s ringing tone boomed from upstairs.

Christophe’s eyes began to water but he quickly wiped it away as he stood to go upstairs. Spence followed him quietly, resisting the urge to take him from behind. This was wrong, he thought as they entered Kellan’s room. Everything was wrong.

“His phone is still by his bedside.” His master’s voice snapped him out of staring at his neck.

“What’s wrong with that?”

“That’s where his phone had been since he went out with you guys.” He answered, picking up his phone and sliding it to see the missed calls. They were about ten. “I called him when he went out but he forgot it. I shouted at him when he got back for it though but he still left it again to go for the party.”

“I thought he would be on house arrest.”

“It was at night. He could obviously go out at night. But since he came back to tell me what happened I haven’t seen him since then.” He covered his mouth with his hands.

It was obvious that he wanted to cry. He was losing everything. He never really had a big clan and now that two have been taken away and one is dead somewhere…”I’m sorry to say this Chris but, Kellan was taken away with us. The one that came back wasn’t our Kellan.”

That just made him bust. Christophe fell on his knees, sobbing for the loss of a dear friend. They had been so close that you’d think they were homo for each other. Now he’s lost him. Who ever said Vampires didn’t have a heart?

Well, the person was right in a way because right now Spencer was seeing Christophe’s vulnerable side that was just making him all the more hungry. He dropped down beside his master, who was now clutching Kallen’s phone against his chest, and touched his shoulders gently, “I’m sorry, Chris.”

He didn’t answer, just sobbed more making Spence pull him in for a hug. It didn’t take time before Christophe dropped the phone and hugged him tighter, “Please, don’t leave me.”

He pulled away to look into those vulnerable eyes that pierced him with so much pain. Spence honestly couldn’t resist anymore. He crashed his lips to his master and patiently waited for him to push him away but no, instead, he moved his lips slowly against his. Spence felt bliss as he got deeper into the kiss, sliding his tongue into Chris’s slightly opened mouth and tasting him. They kissed hungrily and deeply with enough raw passion to have him hot and heated. As much as he would have loved to have Chris on top him, it didn’t matter because he never really loved him. If it was the brotherly love yes but something more? That was impossible. Kellan had all of that.

Chris pulled away to catch his breath, the whole time staring at his lips but Spence wasn’t thinking of his arousal but his hunger, “I’m sorry I had to do this.” Then before Christophe could say a word, he bit into his neck, piercing a vein and drawing blood from it.

Spencer ignored Christophe’s constant thrashing and pushing and focused on the exciting taste of his blood. It tasted innocent and sweet with a little bit of bad and sour. However, if he continued to drink his wonderful blood, he might just kill him and he didn’t want that. So he pulled away and Christophe helplessly fell to the ground, blood crowding his neck.

“Christophe.” He murmured as he played with his hair but he didn’t reply making Spence start to panic. “Christophe?” he called again but nothing. It was the continuous knocking on the door that turned on the switch on his head.

“No! No, you can’t be dead. Christophe wake up!” He pushed the man on the floor but nothing. The panic only rose in his chest when the person out there broke the door down.

Spence moved away from the body, noisily standing up. “Shit.” He said as he tried to look for an escape. The person down there was obviously human but when he talked Spencer almost had a heart attack.

“Spencer?” The man that had made him like this was coming up the stairs.

“Please stay away.” He said in a shaky voice as he leaned against the window, staring at Christophe’s body.

“I won’t hurt you spencer.” The voice was coming closer.

“I killed him. I killed Christophe.” He could feel the burn of the tears in his eyes but he blinked it away. “I can’t stay here. I have to go.”

“No. I can take care of you. You just have to trust me.” The man replied and when no reply came from Spencer, he entered the room only to find the other Vampire on the floor but no Spence.

Miguel stared at the body on the bed. He had almost been too late to save Christophe but he was lucky. His pulse was weak and he could hardly breathe well. Miguel had to give him his blood to sustain him before they brought him to the mansion and hooked him up with a bag of blood.

He had almost lost another good Vampire again and that scared him. One was enough a day please.

Tamisha poked her head into the room and he glanced at her, “Hey.” She said softly.

He motioned her in and she smiled and moved to sit on his lap. She leaned down for a nice kiss before saying, “Marcus’s back.”

He had left Marcus to his maid hunting when his wrist started bleeding. Sent Ian to find the cause while he brought Christophe here and sent for Maria, the healer/nurse. “Call me when Ian gets back.”

Tamisha pouted, “Come on, he looks fine to me.” Referring to the man on the bed

“He got attacked by a Vampire Tami. A fellow Vampire. Tami, there are no clan wars active now and if there were I would have known.” He looked back at his girlfriend to see her surprised face.

“Really? Marcus should know about it.”

“Not him again?” He grumbled, looking away.

She sighed with a smirk, “I tried.” She kissed him again then stood to leave.

“Tell him to come see me here if it’s important.”

“Come to bed later Okay?”

“Sure. I never miss dinner.” He smirked back making her roll her eyes then leave as Marcus entered.

Miguel silently groaned at the sight of him and watched as he went to stand beside Christophe. “So he didn’t die at the end?”

“Would have if you held me any longer.” He said with enough venom to make Marcus turn to him.

“What’s with the attitude?”

“I would have lost another Vampire today.” He replied standing to get up in his face.

“If he died he’ll just join the souls you own down there. Why are you bothered?”

He snarled at him, pushing him against the wall, “You know, if you don’t give a damn it’s better you just shut up.”

“Okay, Okay!” he rose his hand in surrender and Miguel just snarled at him before letting him go and stepping away from him. “Okay. Maybe that came out wrongly. I’m just trying to say-”

“I know what you are trying to say. It’s just…being a necromancer is like being a Witch but I deal mostly in black magic and it is very corrupt. If all my Vampires die, I’ll get to be using it frequently and that could change me.”

“See, that wasn’t too hard.” Marcus teased. The asshole.

“Fuck you.”

“I think Jenna and Tamisha would be pissed if that happened.”

“Go to hell.”

“Already been there.” The asshole countered.

Miguel turned to his brother, “I can get tired of you.”

He shrugged, “But there is nothing you can do about it.”

“Huh?” he nodded to himself. He was so gonna do him back. Karma should take a seat.

“So what do we have here?”

“We found him on the floor in his room. Almost dead dead. Was bitten by a Vampire.” He answered.

“I thought there were no clan wars active.”

“I checked the list to be sure.” He replied, trying to prove his point. “Oh but I did find out that who ever tried to kill him wasn’t a rouge and left him with a boner.”

Rouge Vampires were Vampires who got kicked out of their own clan when they were young and aren’t strong enough to form another one. You can differentiate a Normal Vampire from a Rouge by the way they eat.

“So whoever was wasn’t an enemy or someone he hated.”

“Exactly. Which had me wondering? Where in hell is Kellan?”

“Who is that?” Marcus looked back at him.

Miguel sighed, gesturing him to follow him to sit. When they were comfortably seated, he said, “The Vampire that let those newbies out of his sight. He came for the anniversary.”

“Thought he was on house arrest?” He asked, still confused.

“The anniversary was at night. He could sneak out if he wanted. But he wasn’t home when Ian and I visited.”

Marcus leaned back on his seat, “What do you mean he wasn’t home? He wasn’t with his enchanted accessory.”

“Except he collected it from Christophe.”

“Well, to be nice enough to shorten his punishment really meant they had some kind of relationship. We’ll just have to wait for him to wake up then.”

~::~

It was the next morning Christophe decide to wake up.

The burning sensation of the sunlight on his face had him writhing in his bed. He grabbed the blanket and used it to cover his face only to have it yanked off the bed. Turning to flash the person a glare, he hit his head on the wall making him stop to soothe the pain. “Ow.”

“Oh good, you are awake.” Miguel’s loud voice did nothing to ease his aching head.

“Stop shouting.”

“Hmm. What’s that?”

“Stop shouting.” He repeated, increasing his voice a bit.

“Still cannot hear you…”

“Oh shut up!” He shouted his reply, sitting up in the process.

“Good. You’ve got a headache. Join the family.” He smirked just when Marcus stood up from the couch to close the curtain.

He looked at him and said, “Ignore my brother, I him kept awake and away from his girlfriend so he’s cranky.”

“You made me miss my dinner. I can kill him for that.” Miguel frowned at his brother.

“I thought you don’t want your Vampires dead?”

“I said two a day. One? Fine.” He explained as he crossed his arms and gave him a glare.

Clicking his teeth with his tongue, He ignored his brother and focused on Christophe, “Still have your head ache?”

“Gotten down.”

“Tea?” He asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Coffee please.” He corrected with a small smile.

“Hear that Felicia?”

“Coffee will be coming your way sir.” She replied politely.

“Thank you. Make that three.”

“Okay sir.” She replied.

“You taking two cups?” Miguel asked, ever the stupid one.

“For you idiot.” Marcus scoffed at him then looked back at Christophe, “We need your help figuring out something.” When he nodded, Marcus continued, “Mind telling us what happened?”

He nodded, licking his lips as he stared at the curtain, “It all happened when Spencer came over.”

“Wait? What Spencer?” Miguel asked.

“The one that was supposed to be killed.”

“That can’t be right?” He looked at Marcus, “Then where does Kellan come in all this?”

“Spencer told me what really happened, at least half of it.”

“Go on.”

“He said they were six guys out there-”

“Thought they were five.”

“Miguel, let him finish.”

He shrugged and Christophe continued, “Kellan came out to help him. Said they shot Johnny in the leg. He couldn’t remember from there though but he did remember they took Kellan with them.”

The men stayed quiet for a while and Christophe just watched. Truly, he was done with thinking right now. Someone brought their coffee and he was dressed in a nice servant outfit. Was that what Johnny was wearing? He thought as he took his mug from the tray. If it was, he should be goddamn happy to be wearing something that looked that expensive.

“So wait, you are trying to tell me that six guys came out of nowhere and tried to kill them?” Miguel said then took a sip.

“I wasn’t there. I know it sounds confusing but if you really want to know the truth, you better ask the rest. You’ve got Jenny and Johnny here.”

They nodded and Marcus stood, “I’ll go see them. Said they shot him on the leg?”

“Yeah” Christophe answered.

“Okay then.” He sighed and left.

“Well, now that he is not here, wanna tell me how you got your clan because, you aren’t on my record.” Miguel asked, sitting by the edge of the bed.

“I was a Rouge. I got kicked out of my clan for my sexuality.” He sighed, he hated talking to people about it.

“Drat, Ian isn’t here to take notes. Yo, Felicia honey.”  He called.

“Recording it, Lord Miguel.”

“Thanks babe.” He looked back at him, “They kicked you out because you're gay?”

“Yeah. They don’t like anything spoiling their clan name.”

“Let me guess, The Nightingale Clan”

“Yeah how did you know?”

“Please, I know my Clans. Those guys are like pompous assholes. Like Marcus when he was younger. Don’t tell him I told you but he killed his last girlfriend.”

“Really?” Surprised for the fact that he actually told him

“Yeah. But I killed my last mate so it’s no big deal.”

“You killed your last mate? You get two?”

“Uh-huh. Werewolves live for four hundred years so they get to get their mate once. They should be lucky if the goddess reincarnates them if one dies. But Vampires live forever and are vicious beings. If they come across something that could make them act differently, they’ll be like snap,” Then he snapped for emphasis, “get rid of it. So Witches were nice enough to give us two. If you lose the two you’ll be lonely forever. No Vampire knows this because if they do, they’ll all kill their first mate.”

“Thanks for the information.” He laughed. Miguel was quiet the talker. But still, he killed his first mate. Brutal.

“Back to the Clan talk. So how did you get them?” he asked standing up to pace the large room.

“Street kids. Jenny and Johnny were together though. They must have met on the way.”

“So you just took them in when you weren’t even rich?”

“We’ll I’m not poor. I work at the local supermarket.” He explained.

“Too bad. You’ll be living here till we solve your rouge’s problem.” He said, running a hand through his hair.

“You mean Spence?”

“Yup. What kind of relationship do you have with the boys in your Clan?”

“I don’t have any relationship with anyone.” He answered confused.

“Close to anyone?”

“Kellan was the closest.”

“Where you sexually active with him?”

He stayed quiet for a while then said, “We kissed a few times if that’s what you are talking about.”

“And you said you didn’t have any relationship with anyone.” He said, watching him suspiciously.

“It wasn’t official.” He defended himself.

“Okay. Wasn’t official. So if Spencer comes and trys to kiss you, you’ll give him the go ahead?”

“No.”

“Really? But when I got you here you were sporting a hard-on and Spence was the last one with you. Care to explain?”

Christophe groaned, “Okay. I did it because I knew he liked me. And I didn’t want him to run away because I was a terrible leader. Jenny and Johnny got taken away, he got almost killed and I lost Kellan.” He gasped at the thought, “I can’t believe I lost Kellan.” He could already feel the tears flowing down his cheek and Miguel just watched him without a word.

Marcus came back inside but stopped when he saw him sobbing into a pillow. He glared at his brother, “What did you do?”

“Me?” Miguel stared wide eyed at him, “You think I did this?” He huffed then walked up to him, pulling him to the door. “We’re gonna leave then send in your Vampires when they are done with their chores okay?”

But Miguel didn’t wait for an answer before getting out of the room with his brother.

“What happened in there?” Marcus asked as they walked to the living room.

“That guy just lost his mate, that Kellan guy.”

“Shit.”

“My word exactly. Got anything from the kids?”

“Yeah. They were dart guns so I didn’t find any bullet and no one got hurt.”

“Why did they write their statement like that then?”

“Obviously someone is trying to use them. The kids know what happened. They said Kellan got taken away to somewhere different. They stayed in the Cell at state prison then after the meeting Spencer was gone. Well, they got home and that was it.” Marcus said, stopping to see if he left something out.

“Wait, if Kellan got caught up with them then the one that went back-“

“Was a shape shifter.”

Miguel nodded, glad that they understood that part, “So we have got a shape shifter and a Vampire that drinks other Vampire’s blood.”

“But why would they send Spence back. Isn’t it giving out too much?” Marcus looked at his brother for help.

They fell quiet and Miguel just watched the paintings in the room, “What if they really didn’t want to send Spence back.”

“What?” Marcus asked, puzzled.

“Someone made Spence to drink Vampire blood instead of human's and everyone in the Lisbon Clan are Vampires. What if that person sent Spence back to kill them? He is a new born. He control how he feeds. Hence Christophe.” He explained and used Christophe as example.

Marcus groaned, “Guess there’s just one thing we can do now while we wait for Ian to see if he tracked them.”

“Hang with our girlfriends?” He tried.

“No. Check out the scene of the incident.”

“Oh. Or that too.” He nodded helplessly.
