Alyssa's POV

Hello peepz! It's Maddie! Wow I sounded super lame.... oh well. Anyway it's my turn, so don't be surprised if it sucks. This is Alyssa's first day, the day after the Sorting that is. So second day technically?! Idk. Whatever. Sorry it sucks.

--------------------------------------

I woke up in the Gryffindor common room the morning after the Sorting, ready for my first day of classes. I was so nervous. I felt butterflies in my stomach. I didn't really feel like I belonged in Gryffindor right now, as I was scared out of my wits.

I pulled my blond hair out of my eyes, braiding it sloppily. I then put on my Hogwarts robes, grabbed my bag, and rushed out to breakfast.

"Hi Zoey!" I greeted. "Hi Nadia!" I saw the two girls walking in the corridor after breakfast was over.

"Hi," Nadia replied. "Can I see your schedule?" I nodded and handed her the slip of paper we'd been given at breakfast.

"Hmm," she said, studying it. "Looks like we all have Potions together."

"Great!" Zoey said sarcastically. We looked at her inquisitively. "Sorry," she said sheepishly. "But my parents wouldn't like that I'm..." she trailed off.

I knew what she meant, of course. Mom's family had been like that back in the States. That's part of the reason we'd moved. Nadia, however, looked confused. Being muggleborn, she wouldn't know much about the prejudices of the Wizarding World.

"Yeah," I said, waving it off. "It's cool. I understand."

"I don't," Nadia said, confused.

"Well you see-" I began.

"Trust me." Zoey cut me off. "You don't wanna know."

The day dragged by until I got to Potions. I say at a table with my two friends, waving cheerily.

"So," I heard a nasty voice say. I turned around to see a girl with sleek blond curls. Like Zoey, her hair was honey blonde, but she did not share the same friendly manner. She had brown eyes like me, but they glared coolly. A smirk tugged at her mouth, though I could tell this wasn't a good thing.

"You're the mudblood from Greece, huh?" the girl said laughing. "What are you even doing here, mudblood? You can't do magic."

"Shut up!" Zoey snapped, glaring. I was ashamed to see that the girl wore a Gryffindor tie. Ugh, this stupid git. I wanted to hex her into next week, but I hadn't learned any useful spells yet.

"What's this?? You standing up for her, hon? But you're a pureblood!" Zoey glared. I gripped my wand defensively, despite the fact that it would do no use.

"What's this?" Zoey snapped. "You're talking to us?? But you're an idiot!"

I grinned at her words. The girl looked taken aback, but regained her usual posture within seconds.

"Whatever!" She spat. "Bloodtraitors and mudbloods aren't worth my time."

I felt my blood boil. Nadia was close to tears. I swore silently to myself that my friend would not have to deal with this again.
