Can you believe Nadia?

This girl thinks Imma forget her birthday!

As if.

  With Nadia's and Zoey's birthdays so close together, there was a lot of work to be done. I had some- things- planned for Nadia, and I was super excited. This girl was just too sweet.

   "Lyssa?" Nadia asked. The three of us were sitting in the library on a sunny Saturday morning.

"Hm?"

"Do you think that we could go to Hogsmead next weekend...?" Next weekend was her birthday. She probably just wanted to go get a drink or something, but that was not acceptable.

   "Um- I have to study," I replied. The look Nadia gave killed me, but I acted as if I hadn't noticed.

  "Right," she muttered. I could see tears forming in her eyes. Great. But I couldn't tell her yes. I needed her to think I was busy that day. "I need to go- wash up." And with that, she fled the room.

Zo kicked my shin beneath the table. "What was that for?" she hissed.

  I tried not to wince. Zo kicked hard. (Hiya: Extremely accurate lol)

"I need her to think we forgot," I whispered. "That way we can-" I told her my plan. She smiled evilly. Zo was the perfect person for the job I needed doing...

  "That's not how you wrap a gift!" I moaned. Steven, Zo, Nick, and I were in the room of Requirement- yes, I know about that. I may or may not have found it while hiding from Filch...

"Whatever," Zoey laughed as she continued to tie a bow on a poorly wrapped blue parcel. The theme was BLUE for Nadia's party, her being a miss smarty-pants Ravenclaw and all.

After about an hour of preparations, we were finally done.

"Quick she's coming!" Zoey cried. I dove rolled off of the couch where I was sitting and onto the floor.

"Just kidding!"

"Thanks a lot, Zo," I grumbled. She snickered at me.

"Guys! Nadia's coming!" Nick whispered in an urgent tone.

"Yeah, right," I said, rolling my eyes. "Like Imma fall for that agai-"

I heard the door crack open. I scrambled underneath the couch to hide.

"Hello?" I heard Nadia's voice. "Are you guys in here?" There was silence.

"SURPRISE!" Zoey shouted, jumping up from her hiding place. Nick and Steven did the same.

I, on the other hand, had a bit of trouble.

"I can't- get out," I grunted, trying to get out from under the couch, only making Zo laugh more. After a few minutes of pain, I was out.

"Happy birthday, Naddie!" I cried, crushing her in a hug.

"Thanks," she smiled.

"I almost forgot!" I rushed over to the corner of the room to get a small bronze box with a blue bow.

"Here you go," I said, handing it to Nadia. She opened it.

Inside was a locket, bronze and heart-shaped, with a three small sapphires in the middle.

  Nadia gasped. "Thank you! It's so-"

"Open it already!" Zoey shouted.

Nadia opened the locket to reveal a small photo. It was of us. Nadia, Zoey, and Alyssa. First year.

  "Thanks," Nadia breathed. I smiled.

  "Happy birthday, Nadia," I laughed, crushing her in a hug. The other did the same.

  "Thanks you guys," Nadia repeated. "This has been the best birthday ever."

"But it's not done!" Zo laughed as she dragged Nadia over to the three boys.

Alex took out a box full of Honeydukes sweets (YUM), Nick gave his sister a stack of books, all of them about the history of Ravenclaw.

Naddie LOVED it. She squealed and hugged Nick.

Lastly, it was Steven's turn.

"Uhhh... We're just gonna check on our escape route... So uh... Nobody sees us." I said, and then grabbed Nick's hand, causing us both to blush.

Zo clasped Alex's, making me silently go aww! Zalex was so goddamn cute!!!!

As soon as we were out, me and Zo peeked out from behind a pillar.

The boys awkwardly left.

Nadia faced Steven, pink.

"Uh hey Nads." Steven said shyly.

I heard Zo facepalm. Typical Zo.

"Hi..." Nadia replied.

"This is for you." He said, pulling out a box tied with a blue ribbon.

Nadia opened it to find a pair of sapphire earrings.

Nadia gasped, and I may have too. Zo clamped a hand over my mouth, but the two lovebirds couldn't hear me.

They were beautiful. Simple, yet beautiful.

Nadia put them on, blushing furiously.

Steven looked awestruck.

"Nads... You look absolutely gorgeous."

Nadia blushed too, then leaned in.

"Oh my god oh my god oh my god!" I whisper-yelled.

Zo was grinning like an idiot.

Suddenly Steven hesitated, and Nadia kissed his cheek.

WHAT?!

I had to physically restrain Zo from going to kill Steven.

I personally wanted to chop his head off.

THEY WERE THIS CLOSE TO KISSING!!!!

Both blushed deeply.

"I take it that you like my gift?" Steven whispered.

"Of course I do, Steven. I know it's from your heart." Nadia replied softly.
